While he remains the only figure of Titans Return Wave 3 to not get a youtube review, some interesting news comes from fellow Seibertronian Bumblebee21 - a listing on Taobao.com for a prototype of the upcoming Leader-Class Sixshot. At the time of writing he is currently going for around 144 US Dollars; and even if you're not considering bidding yourself, it's certainly interesting to see pictures of the figure's prototype. Check out the link and images below and tell us what you think in the Energon Pub!

The eyes are there, but the top of the helmet is covering them up.

Anyway, this looks to be the exact same blue and gray test mold we saw back at Cybertron Con.

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but all of wave 3 minus Fangry is available again for preorder from BBTS. That includes Megatron and Gnaw.

I think you meant "yet to get." The way it's worded here and in the news posting, it sounds more like Sixshot is the ONLY wave 3 Titans Return figure that has been reviewed on YouTube, which is, of course, the opposite case.

Hasbro does Takara's distribution in much of Asia (outside Japan)- so that is why there is a Takara Tomy toy in a Hasbro case.

DCEX would probably mean Diaclone Exclusive similar to the Unite Warriors UW-EX stuff. So probably a Dia Battles figure exclusive to Takara Tomy Mall that would also see release in Asia through Hasbro just like the UW-EX stuff.

Because it's a misspelling.

Somewhere in the process someone saw diaclone and didnt properly see the space between the "cl" turning it into "d".

Okay, so I promised some thoughts on TR voyager Prime and Megatron, and here they are. Not because I think I'm so wise, and that you all crave my knowledge, but because I'm bored, and really don't want to do the housework I should be doing while my wife and kids are gone.

Anyway, lets look at pics of the 3 modes first:

Image

Image

Image

As is obvious to anybody with a familiarity of G1 characters, these are quite obviously repaints of soon to come Blitzwing and Octane figures. While I am no fan of repaints, these two aren't that bad. Prime is actually a very nice homage to his G2 Laser Prime self, and Megatron kinda gives an IDW feel. As I've sais before, these will be excellent figures of the triple changers they are supposed to be.

Prime is actually a very simple figure. The transformation is very basic, and lots of truck kibble shows in plane mode. The truck modes hides the plane parts alright, but looks extremely simple. In robot mode, the wings really stand out on his back:

Image

Not a ton of range of movement for either figure, but this one feels very limited. It also feels cheap. I can't fully explain this, other than it feels very light, and the plastic just feels cheap. I would fear to give this toy to an actual child as it would probably break within a day. Prime looks nice, but is a rather disappointing figure.

Megatron is quite different. This transformation is very satisfying, and very reminiscent of the original G1 Blitzwing figure. While the plastic still feels cheap, Megs feels much more solid than Prime. It would probably take a child 3 days to break it, although the joints are very thin. Megatron is also very much on the loose side. While nowhere near as floppy as Skullcruncher, Megatron will flop over easy, and his arms don't like to stay up. He also doesn't tab in well in jet mode:

Image

You can see on the left side there, that the tread piece does not sit as flush to the body as the same piece on the right side. The tabs simply don't measure up right (tab is smaller than the hole), so it won't hold to the body.

The tank modes holds together very well. The grey color feels off, but its easy to get over.

One thing I'm very happy with on both figures is the ability to hide the shoulder columns. I like the heads as is, with out the side pieces limiting movement. Here are the shots of that:

Image

...and without:

Image

Of course, as with all Hasbro figures, these two suffer from a criminal lack of paint apps. Prime in particular could have really benefitted from some paint apps in truck mode. Then there are the stickers. I really hope this does not become a thing. These are cheap, and the edges were already starting to come up out of the box. These will defiantly not last over time. I don't know what Hasbro was thinking.

In the end, while I kinda do like these figures, I can't recommend them at full price. If you can find them on sale, go for it. Otherwise, wait for Blitzwing and Octane.

Maybe, but it's hard to believe they'd make such a mistake on a line that's so well known in Asia.

Diadone is an actual surname that people can have, but more so if you parse is properly as diad-one with diad/dyad meaning pair it could be read as two-in-one which basically describes most Transformers. There were some Diaclone figures that were called Twin Combat that had two robot modes. Seems like something Takara Tomy would make. I doubt it'd be anything we'd recognize fro Transformers, though.

Of course it's all wild speculation, they could be Jenny dolls for all we know.

It seems there is indeed 2 different cases for the wave 2 leader assortment. While everyone in canada was finding Soundwave and only Soundwave, I have just seen 3 pairs of Soundwave and PMOP at Walmart. So that leads me to believe that the earlier case had only soudnwaves while the one we saw on Entertainment Earth was another assortment that was also being distributed as a mass release. Dont know which case the US will see.

Good friend to the site Ironhidensh has been buying more toys from the Titans Return line than he expected. Even to the point of getting figures earlier than most of us, like Titans Return Voyager Optimus Prime and Megatron. He has put together a pictorial review with a fresh twist: brutal honesty. While having a video review which shows the figure at all angles for one to make up his or her mind can be great, it is also fun to read a review full of the author's personality. It shows another side to the figures as well as an opinion to bounce our own opinions off of. So here below is Ironhidensh's review of these two toys, enjoy!

Well that's a bit disappointing. I'm still getting Megatron for my G1 collection, but yeah, those stickers are pretty awful. I might just peel them off and paint him up, I have some nice silvers I can use.

Never did want that Optimus, I like the Classics Voyager a lot more. I really don't like any of his modes and like the review says, he just looks cheap. I can't describe him more than that, he just looks unappealing. I don't know much about Octane, but I'll probably skip this mold altogether unless his plastics and paint blow me out of the water. I'll probably get Blitzwing though, skipped that awful Generations one with zero regrets.

On another note, my Hot Rod and Triggerhappy preorders came in yesterday! I shipped them and they should get here in time for me to open right before Thanksgiving or after my late shift on Black Friday. Just got a job at the Lego Store though, so it could be a lot worse.

Ever since I first laid eyes on the initial images of this version of Megatron, my first thought was that it felt quite rushed, and virtually every review since then has reinforced that notion to an almost certainty. The shoddy stickers, the poor tab connections, the almost total lack of paint apps (even for a Hasbro figure); everything just screams rush job. I seriously hope all of the QC issues are fixed for the Blitzwing release.

not sure why people complain about "cheap" plastic so much. so long as you dont throw your toys at a wall regularly, i doubt anything will break. hasbro's been pretty good about plastic quality (apart from GPS, obviously.) though yeah, some of the other aspects of the toys seem disappointing.

skipping these 2 in favour of their eventual repaints

between CW leader megs and TR galvatron i've got my deception leaders sorted. Hope they look better in their future incarnations. They do look nice but the prime / octane mould's plane mode is a bit erm shit.

Well there is issues with the plastic looking or feeling cheap - take the Yellow Plastic Alternator Tracks that you could pretty much see through same with Armada Hotshot - where as the Micron Legend Hotshot was properly Opaque.

That same kind of horrible almost see-through yellow was also used on Combiner Wars Sunstreaker.

It feels thin - it seems to lack density - for example in counter to that the plastic I'm looking at on the overscale Legion/Deluxe Beast Hunters Bumblebee is also yell but feels thick and sold and isn't opaque at all.

The issue with some people I can totally understand - how many people bought a Generations Leader Jetfire and said "This feels like a KO".

It seems it is possible to make glossy plastic not feel cheap - Combiner Wars foot pads are perfectly fine (more or less) for example.

But when overly thin or light plastic is used it can snap on you as seems to be happening with Wolfwire's back.

Those stickers are a disaster - I'd rather have them on a sheet as at least then I can leave them off - they look terrible mainly as they are far to glossy looking as well as poor quality stickers. I suppose Paper rather than foil might have helped too. But no Hasbro stickers are a nice optional bonus when done right - like the Combiner Wars /Titans Returns bonus stickers I like those - but great areas of stickers on toys that just do not match is not a good look I feel.

I wonder if they jumped to the wrong conclusion to the positive reaction to the bonus sticker sheets - thinking people wanted stickers.

One of the reason some people liked the little detail stickers was Hasbro was to darn cheap to paint their toys. with Optimus & Megatron that is even worse.

Perhaps the need to learn the trick that 3rd party Cutsey Trypticon used and replicate colour in the plastic with inserts instead.

I just got a TR Soundwave a little more than TKMAXX Leaders and a little less than Smyths - he's Kinda fun - though a bit loosey goosey joint wise in the legs.

I like him though - like a lot of people I've always been kinda fond of Soundwave so it's always nice to have a new one in the blue colours.

Heck Knows how long it will be before I can find him some 'cassettes' (data Pads) - but at least pairing him with Buzzsaw feels very traditional.

I think he's a good starting point toy one that in a manner of speaking you can "dress up" (so to speak) by buying new things to go with him and complement him.

Getting Megatron regardless for my lost light shelf. I'm curious if I WILL then get the eventual blitzwing - I have the dr Wu upgrade kit for the previous voyager blitz and that improves the figure immeasurably. Still, even if it is clearly blitzwing, this Megatron has a very good idw look to him. He makes more sense on a LL shelf than cw leader.

Prime is an easy skip in favor of octane. Man. For all the prime toys we get I have yet to find one I like enough to keep. Maybe I regret selling the original voyager classics prime, that's still the one I like best. Pmop was fun, but the ugly gray allowed me to flip him without any remorse.

Thanks for the review, hope I get lucky with qc. Most of my tr has been solid.

Mastermind Creations has a Megatron (Tyrantron) coming out that is almost identical to the Lost Light version, however it will probably be another six months before it's actually out, and will probably be at least a hundred bucks...which is why I'm gonna get the TR version.... Oh well, at least it will look better than the Nerfatron I currently have....

What size is MMC Tyrantron anyway? He's absolutely beautiful but I'm not sure how well he'd scale.

Either way I'm going with TR Megs for LL. Even if he's not completely accurate I still use more inaccurate guys than that like TR Chromedome.

Very nice. I'll be happy with tr megs. 3p rarely appeals to me between body and design. :)

Ok, first up about that Megatron v Tyrannatron. I'm still on the fence about TR Megatron (Blitzing look for Flywheels head depending on it), but I do want that Tyrannatron. That thing is beautiful and exactly what I want for my Lost Light shelf. Price depending, I do want to scoop him up.

I really wish TR Megatron had better stickers and maybe some more paint. Plus, this is the second Megatron now that has chest decals that don't really work considering the sticker's background.

Now, placed here for reference:
Kurona wrote:All this positive praise for Astrotrain is really making me look forward to Sentinel.
All that praise considered, how would you guys rank him in terms of the TR toys we currently have? One of the best? Second only to Blurr/Brainstorm?

Blurr is the best so far, but I'm personally not putting Astrotrain that high up, even if he is one of my favorite cons. Now, I don't have wave 2 deluxes yet, but my list so far, ranking all from my favorite to least (excluding titans masters), are:

Blurr
Cerebros
Alpha Trion
Rewind
Skullsmasher
Blaster
Astrotrain
Fortress Maximus
Hardhead
Galvatron
Wheelie
Laserbeak
Ravage
