The wasn't a single Chaos on Velocitron set available anywhere near me. Didn't even have a display area for it at the TRUs I visited (multiple times per week to check since it came up here that they were out, as I mentioned before). The nearest one that showed up in the online store finder was over 2hrs away.
I'm just curious, if it was 10k US, who in the heck bought them all? Certainly wasn't anyone around here (because they didn't show up)./
I really only wanted everyone but Quickswitch and Nautica

Thats the whole point, they havent all been purchased yet. It just means they have all been accounted for from the supplier. But so have a ton of other TR toys so I am not sure this is indicative yet.
Just out of interest, you couldnt buy it online when it went up?
I second that point.
Don't be sad!
Also, Has-Tak will continue to make more toys. They aren't going anywhere.

Not an axe but how about that Trident that comes with Terradive or one of his remolds since it's a long sea related weapon?
Edit: Never mind I forgot that the staff folds up and therefore can't be held properly by figures with closed fists so while Broadside can hold the bottom half and it sort of looks good it's not the best choice.
But how about deluxe RID Optimus Prime's or one of his repaints axe? It's not a long handle weapon but it does have a big blade.

I was following TRU pretty closely since I was interested in other figures popping up. I believe the option to buy it online was there for maybe a week before it was pickup in store only, then maybe another week before it was totally gone. I could be wrong, but I feel like this set isn't going to be super popular and can be had for around MSRP once scalpers realize they're not getting a good return on it. Good luck.

Not sure on that. There's not a lot left on ebay compared to some weeks ago, they're definitely not shelfwarming on internet.

What a cute little nod to G1 fans!
It's too bad they couldn't work the little heart beneath Powerglide's chest into the recent Combiner Wars figure like they did for the Universe 2008 Ultra class mold. Them Autobots get ALL the ladies!

Takara's version of this mold also has yellow forearms and a head assembly cast in red plastic instead of white plastic. It would be interesting to see this new Hasbro version side by side with Takara's version to check the greens and yellows. I have a sneaking suspicion that the only difference between TR Cosmos and TAV Adams is down to the paint apps.
Not as good as a 3 way photo, but here's something for comparison:
(Pictures snipped for brevity's sake.)
Takara's version has the autobot logo on the chest, a darker overall green with a yet darker green on the top leading edge of the saucer, and has eyes instead of goggles, and of course the scan-me sticker on his right leg.
Thanks, but that's not really what I was getting at. I have Takara's TAV release of Cosmos already. My observation was that all of the structural differences to Titans Return Cosmos were first found in Takara's TAV release, such as the yellow forearms and the red plastic head assembly. For the original Thrilling 30 release of Cosmos, the forearms were green and the head assembly was made of white plastic. Now, knowing that the new Titans Return version has different colors of plastic and paint, I want to see if the colors of green and yellow plastics and paints between the Takara release and this newer Hasbro release are the same, or still somewhat different from one another, which will be hard to do without having those two standing side be side in the same picture.

I don't think Toys "R" Us has distributed the entire stock they've bought. They couldn't have, honestly. No toy sells THAT fast, especially not a $100 toy, especially if it's not electronic. Shelf space is at a PREMIUM right now with all the summer movies coming out and all the toy tie-ins to sell. Transfromers sections are bursting at the seems trying to accommodate two major lines right now. TRU has to be holding back for later, when the summer movie craze subsides.
Also, I'm beginning to wonder if these sets were ever available to order online, directly from toysrus.com. When I saw the news alert here on Seibertron, I immediately took a look and found that it was already "Out of Stock Online." None of the stores in my area had any stock either for "In Store Pickup." Did anyone here actually get to order the Chaos on Velocitron set to have shipped to their home?
That same day the news was posted on Seibertron, I checked my local TRU after work, just in case, and found the shelf tag where the sets were. It was a space just barely large enough for the box set, so only one would be shown at a time, the rest stacked behind going back into the depth of the shelf. I'm guessing each store got a case or two each of the sets, which are probably about two sets to a case. Let's say that each store got 4. Are there 2,500 TRU's in the United States?

Also picked up Legends Bumblebee at Target while I was down there thanks to all the glowing comments here. I'm still not crazy about the arms or the skinny legs, but the transformation is interesting enough. Almost bought Roadburn instead, but I'll wait a bit longer.
On a side note I saw all of Deluxe wave 1 between TRU and Target. So strange, haven't seen those since last fall in my area.

Krok in my opinion is better than Skullsmasher. his paint work is better and I love a black crocodilicus!
Perceptor is sort of boring, but the microscope mode is cool.
Kup is amazing and I love him so much. The transformation is so much fun and he looks awesome! He nearly is my favorite of the wave...
But then there was Topspin. He is right there with Triggerhappy for how much fun he is, maybe even beating Triggerhappy cause he can pose better and he feels heavy. He is a blast, works great, looks perfect, and I cannot wait for Twintwist so I can have the twin wreckers!!
Also, Sky shadow and the legends class figures are in the stack so they should hopefully ship within the next 2 weeks

I'd like to see the Powerdashers done eventually, as well as the Omnibots. Too bad we'll probably never see those mock-up repaints Million Publishing did a few years ago of Camshaft (from Universe 2008 Ironhide), Downshift (from Generations 2011 Wheeljack), and Overdrive (from Universe 2008 Bluestreak).
D-Maximus_Prime wrote:Kup is amazing and I love him so much. The transformation is so much fun and he looks awesome! He nearly is my favorite of the wave...
Kup seems to be another in an elite class of Transformers toys that utilizes a great "hide all the kibble in the legs" transformation scheme, like Transformers Prime "Revealers" Vehicon and Thrilling 30 Deluxe Orion Pax. It's just a very satisfying feeling to convert those toys back and forth.

Yeah, the designers definitely messed up with seating the Titan Masters in Kup's truck cabin. I've found that if you put Flintlock (or whomever) in before you align the bottom of the truck cabin with the rest of the truck body, then carefully bring that up and the "windshield" down, the Titan Master will stay in place. Then you just have to carefully do the rest of the transformation and try not to jostle the figure too much. It doesn't help either that the grove for the little peg on the back of the Titan Masters' legs is too deep, so putting excess pressure on it actually provides enough leverage to pop the peg right back out again.

You have me all curious now, which 2 lines do you feel are main? Which of the three do you not consider main?
From my trip today, it really feels like there are three lines being maintained by both Hasbro (for supplying) and the retailers (for stocking).
Here was my Walmart:
And here was my TRU:
Looked like 3 lines from where I was standing
And to answer your other question, while I dont remember anyone here purchasing the set online, I do remember it being available for sale online and available for ordering from the site.
Emerje wrote:Almost bought Roadburn instead, but I'll wait a bit longer.
I was debating picking him up today too but I just couldnt bring myself to do it. The mold is fine but its not my favourite and I dont really care for this character. It also wasnt one of those amazing redecos that does something interesting, like TR Krok or Prime Dead End. Unless they make all the throttlebots uniformally like this, I dont think I will be picking it up.

TF-fan kev777 wrote:So I was able to pick up Blitzwing and Octone today and this had me wondering. Is this the first part of TR since the 1st wave where something actually showed up in the US before Canada?
Its really more the reverse that happens. Because it sounds so odd for Canada to get it first, it registers more prominantly when it happens and when it happens again it just becomes a confimation bias. But the US gets most figures first. Every single Titan Master toy for instance, and all the deluxes too. All Canada got first was for voyagers was Broadside, yay (and yes, some Leader figures).

Its my favourite transformation idea! Well that and flipping panels to reveal different detail for either mode. Like AOE Voyager Optimus and Alternators Decepticharge. About TFs that have al the kibble fold into their legs, you could add Voyager TLK Optimus to that list. Its fantastic!

And as always, make sure to use our Sightings Database tool to update fellow collectors on figure availability across the globe.
A follow up to the recent sightings of Titans Return Deluxe Krok and Quake in Australia.
UNFORTUNATELY.... it looks like the delay of getting Wave 4 here (three months after America and Asia) has meant that we might have missed out on the regular wave 4 assortment, and have instead received a REVISION wave 4, as only Quake and Krok have been found at a number of stores. (the full assortment of this revision case is not yet known, but it could be wave 3 toys filling out the rest of the case)
So, what about Topspin, Perceptor and Kup?
There are no details (yet) about future case assortments beyond the regular wave 4 on the usual sites that list case assortments, so there is no information at this time about if these three toys will see a return in future waves... so we just have to hope they will.
Wave 5 has an odd number of new toys (Twintwist, Misfire, new Windblade), and hopefully Topspin will at least be re-released with Twintwist.
Until we know more (and update fans here), if you desperately want Perceptor, Kup and Topspin, perhaps look online for a reliable, affordable source.
Or... if you find the three Autobot toys at a major retailer in Australia, let us know about it, in case we did actually get some of the regular Wave 4 cases here.

Uuuurgh, I really hope that this isn't the case. I was planning on definitely getting Percy and Topspin, but if I never see them at retail I'm gonna have a hard time convincing myself to drop aftermarket prices (especially for Topspin, being widely considered at least the equal-best Deluxe in TR so far, and hence probably going to be one of the more expensive aftermarket buys along with Triggerhappy). I'm actually right about to head out on my scouting rounds now, so I'll report back with any interesting findings... but yeah, I really hope that we haven't missed out by virtue of being late to the party. (We've had such a great track record with this line so far, too! - not counting Leader class I suppose.)

I wouldn't mind a straight up repaint of the Titans Return version of Kup, as I'll be using Takara Tomy's Legends version as Kup, with his retooled arms. The difference in the shoulders makes a striking difference on the overall silhouette of the figures. With the right paint, Crosshairs should look fairly distinct on a shelf with Legends Kup.
