Yup! Kids love Bumblebee so much you can viably shove him into a wave with his new-head redeco!

I'd say that's quite unusual, but apparently new heads/parts count as a different figure. I mean, didn't RiD have Blizzard Strike and Power Surge Optimus Prime in the same case at one point?

If they did, I think that's just the same case as 'Bee here - kids friggin' love Prime, they don't care that two of the same mold are on the shelf at the same time; they care that they can get two Optimus Primes

Also, Rewind and Chromedome (do they have a couple name?) pic of the day. I enjoy these two way too much.

Unless head molds get switched around between figures, I'd say G2 Megatron. Either that or a Blitzwing based on his Platinum release:
Transformers Platinum Edition Blitzwing Gallery
Or maybe even Overcharge:
Transformers e-Hobby Exclusives Overcharge Gallery
The Velocitron has 2 retools (Rodimus and Nautica), 1 pretool I'm assuming (Quickswitch) and a redeco (Prime), while the Cybertron one has 2 retools (Thunderwing and Metalhawk?), 1 pretool (Tidal Wave) and 1 redeco (Prime) as well. I think we can expect the same for the other 2.

My 8 year old mind could barely contemplate the existence of regular OP and powermaster OP. Once I had PMOP, I didn't care that I never got regular OP (yet, I've gotten a few since...).

Just wondering, how can you tell what is a retool and what is a pretool? Wasnt this whole line designed all at once?
And for nsutica, you only consider the new tooling to be the face right? Because the fans are more like new accesories here, just like the new accessories platinum perceptor had, and that wasnt considered new tooling.

That guy is technically called Skytread, and maybe the Boxset will actually use flywheels

Except Nightbeat suffered the same fate... and weren't there other figures on rumour lists that showed their normal names but when the toy came out they had a different name? We certainly didn't know from the rumour lists that the Autobot Clone would be renamed 'Fastcrash', for instance.
I dunno, not saying it's impossible; but I'm not quite betting on it. Especially when they might figure a G2 Megatron would match Velocitron's G2 Optimus. And the fact that, well, it's friggin' Megatron.

But on the other hand, G2 Megatron would fit better thematically with Laser Prime (to whatever extent they're trying to tie any box-set figures together, which doesn't seem to be much). I mean it was kind of easy to predict a G2 repaint of mass-retail TR Optimus, since his robot mode had a lot of those visual cues plus his alt-mode of a tanker truck was so distinctly G2.
But what about TR Megatron? Aside from the lack of shoulder-cannon (can the TR toy do that though? I think I remember people saying it can) and the different chest, the robot modes look pretty similar - not as much as TR/G2 Optimus, but look at those lower legs and feet! Plus we have to remember that as common a tank is as an alt-mode for Megatron, his G2 toy was the one that originated that too! I'd say there's pretty good evidence either way, but I'd kind of prefer a Flywheels from Blitzwing just for some extra character variety in my collection.

Perhaps, perhaps... but I'd certainly hope he gets a new figure in the form of an actual Duocon, rather than using a body that two characters already use extremely well

There is a port on each of Megatron/Blitzwing's shoulders that... certainly did seem odd when I got it rather than some random extra play value. Maybe that's evidence of planning ahead for G2 come to think of it, especially when the G2 figure had a shoulder cannon but not an arm cannon. Hmm...

I admire your optimism, though I can almost guarantee you that with the sets being almost purely repaints and minor retools; you may be adding to that list quite a bit... let's just cross our fingers they've got some good stuff planned.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue, or is it just a problem on my copy of the figure?

Anyways, I didnt hear much feedback, which Kup do you guys think works better with the season 3 cast?
Lastly, as I was playing with random toys from the past few years along with the TR toys, I noticed how hasbro's looked great and not oversahdowed by the taakra releases. You can see for yourself below, even with an MP around, all the paint apps look good and none of these look obviously Hasbro cheap. Sure, Kup doesnt look like Kup, but the paint is there in robot mode. All I mean is that in terms of quality and paint apps, I found Hasbro and Takara indistinguishable with the toys I was playing with below.

Still, Takara will almost certainly bring out the mold in the cartoon-accurate colours; so it shouldn't be a question for much longer. ... well, I mean, they're holding off Legends until August, so you'll have to wait for quite a bit. But still.

For season 3, I personally prefer TR Kup thanks to his colors/complement -- but Gen-Kup has the face. Tough call...but since I only own G1 Kup at the moment, I can tell ya I do plan on picking up TR Kup.

5 Decepticon Leaders to 2 Autobot Leaders (and both of those were in the first wave - every new Leader for four waves straight has been a Decepticon!)
5 Decepticon Voyagers to 4 Autobot Voyagers...
Pretty impressive considering the original toyline was practically 5:1 when it came to Autobots:Decepticons. I'm certainly not complaining

The vote was only just held a few months ago and the line should be coming out this very year. I highly doubt they have enough time to change the entire direction of the line based on that vote.

No But you will likely get a mix of japanese Characters, beasts, and heck maybe fembots or what ever is a touch point to the options offered then they will adjust once they get to later waves in 2018 I think it's fair to see it as a 2018 line even if it might ship in last quarter 2017 - just as everyone ignores that Beast Wars actually came out in 1995 and not 1996. and that is assuming they don't actually release it in March 2018 and then use the extension of Titans Return to sell more Movie toys and perhaps release Titan Scorponok as Prime War II not Prime Wars 3 (if they wanted too).
I expect they likely realise they can claim mechanical animals are either beast related or just normal Decepticons depending on how the vote came out - like if Megatron had won you could still do Apeface Or the Terrorcons with no issues.
Heck they can easily make a 7th or even 8th Wave is they want to of TR and still end around the same sort of time.
I think we are assuming the line ends at wave 6 - But I've heard no solid confirmation of that yet.
Heck i'd much rather get two more TR waves and fill some of the important gaps in than jump tracks to early.
I don't think Prime Wars will be just Beasts - I just think it will have a fair few Beasts in it - especially if they end TR at wave 6.
I also expect some Japanese Zone/Victory Characters too.

Much as it pains me there's just too many clues that TR's gonna end at Wave 6. The Movie toys which Hasbro'll want to focus on are starting to be released, as are the Boxsets which, while we only have a single line's precedence of, seems to indicate that the actual waves of a line are starting to end.
I mean hell, we could get a Wave 7; certainly wouldn't mind, but it's not something I'm expecting.

I am sure it could get a more cartoon accurate deco but it wont help, just like Springer's more cartoon acurrate deco doesnt help make it more "season 3"-ish. The chest for Gen Kup is much closer to anything resembling Kup. This TR one does something really off with that chest and those headlights. That top half is all wrong with the way the shoulders are and the overly angular arms which remind me of CW Breakdown.
All in all, this mold doesnt scream kup in robot mode, at least not the Kup I have in my head. I look forward to seeing him decod as a different character. Any really, I am actually warmer towards reuse of molds for characters I dont know since it becomes all new to me.

Oh, don't even joke! (Though actually if I'm being honest, I would be quite curious to see how that would look...)
As to Will's question also, I actually don't particularly like either of them as Kup to be honest. I don't actually have TR Kup yet so I can't give much of a personally-informed opinion on the figure itself, but I'm pretty turned off by the color-scheme and weird face (won't stop me from buying him as soon as I see him though! Seems like a great mold if not a great Kup). I've never had Gen Kup either, but I do have GDO Swerve, so I can say that I find that mold to be a bit too finicky and kibbly for my tastes. Bottom line, I honestly can't see Kup very much in either of his two Generations molds (nor his PRiD one either, which is my current all-purposes Kup figure). At this point it seems to me that Kup is in pretty much the same boat as Ironhide: perpetually getting toys that almost work but fall just short enough that I'm always disappointed by the end result.
Heh, that didn't actually answer your question at all did it? For what it's worth TR Kup will be my Generations Kup once I get him; mostly because I don't find either version better than the other, and it's a heck of a lot easier to just buy a toy off a shelf than to hunt for a well-priced good-condition secondhand one on eBay.
