Some interesting images have been posted on the Chinese toy forum ACToys of what appears to be a third-party Dino-combiner set. Little is known about the set other than what is seen below. Note the other combiner set in the last image is a non-Transformer related item.

I don't like the combined form, but the individual dinobots look awesome. At least... the ART does. From some of the technical pics, I fear the toys won't quite match the art.

Looks cool, I agree about needing to have them actual dinobot colors. They already released Brimstone in a dinobot color scheme which looks pretty cool next to WST dinobots. Hopefully it's like this since they share a similar appearance:

Well it's not like they're releasing these now, it's just the design process.

I for one am interested. I was checking the size on these and if those measurements are metric, these are in the voyager class size with Not-Grimlock being a little taller than Optimus. Not-Swoop is a little shorter and the tallest would be Not-Sludge. If the colors match up with he G1 scheme, put me down for the pre-order!

Yeah, but it still shows that they've been screwing around doing other stuff besides perfecting the one project that could potentially put them on the map.

I wouldn't care if we had already seen prototypes of all 6 Construcitons, but instead TFC keeps showing us everything except the last 2 Constructicons.

When FansProjects started working on City Commander, you didn't see them constantly working on other things. They might have released a couple of items here and there, but most of their focus was on City Commander. TFC has been focused lately on everything except the rest of Hercules.

The way I look at it is that all that time they spent on those CADs would have been better spent on finishing the Constructicons. If they want people to invest $600 into it, then we better start seeing more of it.

The Dinos look ok, if a bit "bony" in detail. I'd have to see actual pics, and have them coloured like G1 Dinobots for me to be too interested.

I don't think these will ever be the Dinobots to me. The Dinobots are too iconic to be done in this fashion.

However perhaps they would make a decent standin for TF:Victory Dinoforce...

Agreed. They won't be THE dinobots for me either but they have me interested nonetheless. Maybe new recruits Wheeljack created to help out Grimlock until Hasbro gets around to finishing the bunch.

I must've missed something: how do you know this is from TFClub?

Regardless of who they're from, I'm not interested. Not really a fan of the style. They're very Zoids, or semi-movie. Plus I've always liked to think that the Dinobots are powerful enough without combining. The other one looks a little 'meh'!

So how do you know the same design team working on Deva/Hercules is the same design team behind these other projects?

Is not like they have a single person designing everything.

I don't see why they can't have more than one product in the design stages while still working on Devestator. Actually it makes me feel more confident about buying Exgraver. If they're planning more combiners it means they probably won't shut down production leaving me with just the one Constructicon.

I have no idea how big their team is, but logic is dictating that it's a pretty small team if we've yet to see the remaining 2 Constructicons while they keep cranking out other items.

It would be a different story if we had already seen images of all 6 Constructicons. For now, I'm going to stand by my argument of them needing to stop screwing around and get Devastator done.

I wouldn't be bothered by them showing off more stuff they are up to, if they were actually finishing and producing more than lame transforming guns and heads.

Hopefully those are just test shot colors.

If those are the colors, then they'd look like the Generation 2 dinobots intended 5 dinobots colors & not G-1 colors.

I dont see Dinobots here. I see power ranger dinosaurs. Or maybe Godzilla foes. Grimlock should not have a tail for an arm. They cant be serious...

Plus the combiner mode is awful with its chubby legs and shoulder kibble. Swoop is just too small to math the other arm or leg on the opposite side. He will look naturally crippled like DJ Paul of Three Six Mafia. And of course Sludge would be the obvious choice for the torso because of his size. But Sludge is not the leader. The whole concept of a Dinobot combiner is just silly. The Dinobots used to kick Devastators ass all the time.

I'm with robofreak...I'm not really diggin' that they're showing everything in the world BUT the rest of Hercules. Makes me think they don't have a clue of HTF to finish the thing they're supposedly going to market with any day now. Not to mention I'm beyond sick of seeing all their plans and none of their actual product. Until they start finishing some of what they start, screw their next plan.

PS, most of this thread is off-topic. Where's the 3rd party 'goodness'? All I see is a bunch of Dino-fail...

It would appear the previously reported third-party dino-combiner is moving from computer renders to prototypes. The images mirrored below popped up on the Chinese toy website ACToys. The same topic also contains images of the non-Transformers related Star Cat Rescue Team combiner (bottom three images).

I know we haven't been shown a hell of a lot of these sets but I've gotten a lot more excited over far less. The dinosaur set just makes me think of Power Rangers. If this is meant to be the Dinobots then it's ALL going to come down to the colour scheme. I'm with Dead Metal when he speculates that these are just themed transforming robots.

I don't think they were going for the Grimlock look honestly. Although, this is about as close to Grimlock as the classics figure is, in Dino mode at least. My guess is that this will be their own 5 dinobots somehow related to THE Dinobots.

So TFC, how about them PCC limbs??

So TFC has spent this time making more crap that we could care less about and less time making the final 2 pieces of Devastator?

I like what they reveal, but they are steadily losing any hope I have for them.

All they show are fragments of stuff now.

I might actually start to care about their stuff if they would actually take the time to finish one project at a time.

I have a hunch we will be seeing the completed Hercules in the instruction manual of Exgraver.

Eeehhhhh.... not sure how I feel about this one. The Concept got me all excited, if they were for the PCC Dinobot then I might be more interested, but if they're just going to be a Dinobot inspired combiner then probably not.

I took a chance buying my very first PCC which was grimstone and loved him, so to see another dino-combiner is =P~

I dont care if it is or isn't supposed to be the G1 crew im just glad theres new combiners that are not the usual and i don't see power wankers either personally i think this looks great i just hope its affordable

I think it has potential. From what I've read at various places around the web these are supposed to be about the same size as the Hercules figures and share the same style combining ports.

Wow. These are looking really good BUT I'm just taken aback a little by the rumor that they're Hercules size. While a giant dino combiner is an awesome notion, dropping $1200 for the pair of them doesn't sound awesome at ALL. Was hoping they were Power-Core size and compatible.

While there may be different teams or people working on these... I agree, it would be really nice to finish one project (or put up pics, pricing, etc.) before flaunting two or three more. That kinda makes the fandom lose hope.

Maybe I can put a Star-Hovercraft together with Exgraver and CrazyDevy Devastator and make a finished Autobot-Spike style combiner until they all finish putting out their parts and limbs. Eh? :-?

At least the pterodactyl looks like a real Dinobot. Won't with the planned colors, though.

This would be tempting if it weren't for Devestator, even with the right colors. Not down for two huge combiners at the same time.
Re: Third-party Dino-combiner on the Horizon? (1267276)
Posted by gothsaurus on July 27th, 2011 @ 11:54am CDT
yeah, I think I'm only considering these guys if they do the actual Dinobot colors. (and Protectobot colors) If that happens, they're going to be hard not to buy. Really hard.

I'm not gonna lie, the sort-of-Dinobots are tempting, but I will need to see more.
