TFCC Subscription Service 4.0 Update - Pre-Orders Start Tuesday August 11

Thank goodness it goes on throughout the rest of the month since I am nowhere near financially ready for this.

The more I think about it, the more I feel windsweeper should have been the torso from the silverbolt mold. That futuristic concorde looks just like a B1 bomber like what he is supposed to be. They could have made bludgon from the brawl mold since they are allowed to touch the bruticus retools. Also would be cool if they just scrapped impactor and did crankcase or quake instead. Crankcase from the rook mold would have been a better choice. Or quake from generations warpath like the charticon exclusive custom figure.

Wish the orders stood would go through October, but considered me very interested. Even if I don't decide to display them in combined form, my Classics Decepticons need some beefing up!

Does anyone know if Impactor and the mystery 7th figure will come with a hand/foot piece?

That would be pretty trolly to release a Combiner Wars limb figure without the piece they'd need to become a limb.

As far as I know, all the Deluxes will come with all their accessories, as well as Double Targetmasters for Spinister and Needlenose.

While I don't disagree with the notion of someone other than Bludgeon being the torso, I feel it would have been cooler if they had retooled the Voyager Cyclonus mold into the Thuderwing (if such was feasible, that is) and used him as the torso instead since Thunderwing was the one who interacted with these exact four limb-bots, while Bludgeon was away from all of them at the time.

A three week window, considering that tomorrow is the start, doesn't really give me any leeway in making my order for this. Even breaking the price up in 3 doesn't help. Why not a 30 - 45 day window to make the purchase? It's not like we're getting the first figure anytime soon...

The window between getting approvals and tooling availability confirmations and the deadline to get numbers in to start production greatly affects how long the pre-order window can be left open. Unfortunately.

That doesn't take away how less than thrilled I am that 4.0's starting before 3.0's final installment has yet to be made. Even by going with installments for 4.0, that's still a large expense to simultaneously wrap up one subscription and start another, especially when the point of installments is to ease the cost of the subscription in the first place.

Additionally...given how long it can take the club to get the first figures out anyways (Carzap in May being early compared to Barricade/RiD Scourge around July/August), would waiting a month or extending the order period into September have really created that significant a delay? I'd be fine with waiting longer to start getting figures if the order period was extended, and how this would lead to a delay then be sufficiently communicated to subscribers.

Are there plans to give Bludgeon a sword? I'm thinking of cases like Alpha Trizer and last year's AoE Silver Knight Deluxe Optimus that came with the random G1 Predacon sword. Or maybe it's already been shown with one and I wasn't paying close enough attention.

I can appreciate that, but essentially we're looking at a 9 month gap between 1st payment and 1st figure being released. Yes, we heard from the club in July that pre-orders will go live sometime in August. I just feel a bit miffed that I have a 3 week period to jump in on the program AND make some type of payment from the actual, time-specified start. Maybe it's just me, since I have other plans with the money available to me in the next 3 weeks.

TF_JW - I hope you can reach out to those in management and let them know that a bit longer grace period will not only be appreciated, but also net the club more subs.

i think what "The Informant" is trying to imply is that Bludgeon is going to be run right after Hasbro has Wave1 Part2 of Onslaught finished, and so order numbers have to be in before Hasbro shelves the tooling. I agree, in that I would kike to have had another few weeks. I've been setting aside money for this, but I also dont have Tfss3 bearing down on me this year, either. I wish they coulda done the order period a few weeks sooner, if nothing else, but that doesnt help with balancing the 3.0 payment plan

Some other exciting details about this year's figures are also revealed through the order page, including confirmation that Bludgeon will include two "Cyber-Blade" Swords. Major kudos for keeping it in line with the past couple years. Always nice to see Transformers toys do something other than go up, up, up, and up in price.

While my real hope would have been for a combiner of the Scavengers out of IDW's comics, this is going to be a welcome curiosity for my collection. I haven't been as excited about a club offering since the battlechargers!

Bludgeon has two swords and Impactor gets a friggin' armory?

Ugh, the temptation is real...

I'm quite excited for this set and this will be my first time joining the collectors club. It's going to be another week or so until I join so to those of you who have ordered already, how much would I have to put down for this set?

All six are up on BBTS, for those that want to go that route.

I'm so in for this set, totally worth the $25 import fee I get hit with every time one of these things drops through my mailbox. Made all the sweeter with Ruckus, earliest TF memory I have is playing with him in pre-school. I know it will never happen but if Carnivac ends up as the bonus figure I would be over the moon.

I think I'm going to pass on 4.0.I have done all three years so far but after the problems with a figure in the last series 3.0 Nacelle I just don't know.

I'd be willing to bet that some of the weapons named on the order page are going to turn out to be the combiner kibble guns. In Impactor's case, probably the "Messatine photon launcher"

That was my assumption too, based on each figure having at least two weapons, even if only one was pictured.


One membership related question, if I accidentally forget to renew my membership next April when it's up for renewal, what happens with the TFSS if I've already paid for it?

I wonder how many people who say 3rd party combiners are too expensive will spend $300 on this.

Im gonna order sometime in the middle of the month right after I pay my credit card up. Wish there was an option to skip impactor and knock 50 bucks off. MMC is doing a better version of the character.

I'm torn. On one hand, I want it. on the other hand, since subscribing to 2.0 last year I have received one figure with a missing pin (chromedome, actually not the worst error ever because it stayed on 90% of the time and I could pop it off and make him a pirate, so I was reluctant to exchange it for a new one, but I did anyway), one figure with the waist installed backwards (Rewind), and one figure missing a nipple (Nacelle). I really want to see the combiner head.

Speaking of weapons, I wonder which (if any) of the additional weapons being included will be an original mold, and where the rest will come from. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see them use some Construct-Bots weapons like they did for Oilmaster.

I was really looking forward to this set, but some other expenses have come up over the last few weeks that put a damper on my ability to subscribe. there were three figures I wanted anyway out of the six, so I may try to pick them up individually on the secondary market.
I considered pre-ordering them on BBTS, but at $85 per figure that is a tough pill to swallow.
If the deadline to order is extended into October that changes things and I could probably go ahead and subscribe.

Although the mystery figure will probably be a scout, I'm really hoping it turns out to be Crankcase as an alternate limb. Even though we already got an update of him from the GF/C First Aid mold, CW First Aid's head would be perfect for Crankcase (and what a strange coincidence THAT be...) and I want all 3 Triggercons done CW style. Even though the current Mayhem limb-lineup jives nicely with Thunderwing's Matrix Questin' crew, Crankcase did show up on that one cover, so it'd make more sense to do him than finish off the Double Targetmasters with Quake from Brawl.

It's been revealed that the 7th figure is also a Combiner Wars Deluxe.

It'd have been much nicer to get them as a retail release instead of two superfluous teams, they could have made skylynx a secondary wavemate, and made the purple griffon guy () the main release

Yeah you have to pay them to pay them to buy the figures, probably my biggest problem with it

You do get an 8th figure while doing so, of course. Ramjet comes with the Club Membership, then there are the 7 Subscription figures.

They're sold as a set, kinda like how you couldn't take just one member of a Mini-Con team from Armada out of the package and buy it on its own. Same principle, just more expensive by several orders of magnitude.
