TakaraTomy's Arcee is colored a slight bit differently from the US version, as you can see in the image below, and you can compare the differences by checking out our gallery of the US version of the figure by clicking here.

Oh well, here are some extra stuff we learn about the tweet and figure:
Arcee features all new character art for her packaging. Hisashi Yuki reffers to the release date in his tweet by saying that the "three daughters will be released Valentine's Day".

Come on. Her pointing guns at a camera is a rarity when we are talking about Arcee. Especially G1 arcee. It's usually this kinda stuff. I Just don't care for it anymore.

Well, I've seen 25+ years of cutsy Japanese girl-bots to last me forever. I don't like action-girls cause they are just as bad, but the way they are handling female bits now? Yes. Please more.
These juvenile sex poses are for the Dinobots.

Which part of the pose is actually sexualized?
Maybe it's cutesy, which may not be the most interesting way to sell the figure, but she has a third of a car on top of her. There's nothing exaggerated about her pose, her hips aren't pushed out, he back isn't arched...
If female characters laying around, lounging, doing nothing is where enticement and objectifying begins, I think perhaps the problem does not lie with the figure at hand.

This, so much. The recent trend of criticizing everything as "misogynistic" is really getting on my nerves.
I, for one, quite like her cutesy pose- it suits her well.

As everyone has the right to their own opinions but based on the definition of "sexist"
sex·ism (sĕk′sĭz′əm)
n.
1. Discrimination based on gender, especially discrimination against women.
2. The belief that one gender is superior to the other, especially that men are superior to women.
sex•ist (ˈsɛk sɪst)
adj.
1. pertaining to, involving, or fostering sexism: sexist advertising.
n.
2. a person with sexist attitudes or behavior.
I don't see Arcee's pose anywhere showing she is inferior to men. Calling it sexist and based on the definition.......it does not fit. It's like Ben Affleck calling a guest in Bill Mahr's show racist when he wasn't mentioning race but religion.
I'd say sexist if she was posed in a submission tied up pose or wearing a maid's apron with a serving plate the way MP Grimlock was packaged ( well, Grimlock was a waiter in that episode)

No it doesnt. Babies are cute and innocent, do you believe that to be sexualized?
And also, no, its not fan art, its real.

Completely different contexts, so I'm not sure that comparison holds up.william-james88 wrote:No it doesnt. Babies are cute and innocent, do you believe that to be sexualized?
Puppies are also cute and innocent, but you don't apply those words to them when/if they're in the pose Arcee's rocking. Same with babies.
You're free to think it's not sexualized, but Takara certainly made a choice when they decided to pose her, out of 100s of alternatives, and I personally think it's telling. No male TF would be posed that way. Just my opinion, here.

The pose is sexualities because she's a "girl" bot. That's the point. It's not really a big deal, it's just annoying and a telling sign of the carefree sexism that exists in Japanese culture. I don't like to see it in transformers.
And yes, that pose of Airazor is sexist. Like completely.
It's fine for a female character to be sexy, it likely doesn't encapsulate their whole being.
The last pic of the other females fauning over star saber and then this one is telling to the mindset of the photographer.
it makes me cringe when I see it. Like fem-troopers or the 10000th sexy princess Leia drawing. It's old hat.

Neither, just trying to show that a woman posing doesnt have to have sexual conotation, and neither do the words innocent or cute. The sexualization is in one's head. I dont see it.

What I mean is, TF's and just about any other fictional characters are manifestations of the idealized human form. Male characters will invariably be either male-model athletic, bodybuilder muscular or intimidating, with the token comic relief character being fat or puny.
In the same sense, females will have the generic slim and agile proportions of athletes or models. The thing is, there are so few female TF's that it seems almost every fembot looks like a pin-up model, except for Strika and Ripclaw. Comparatively, you have tons of male bots with sleek and "physically fit" proportions and only the token DOTM Leadfoot, AOE Hound and TFA/TFP Bulkhead who have fat proportions.
As for the Arcee pose thing, I've seen plenty of female friends lounge on the couch like that.
It's not cute, and it's not innocent...it's natural physiology. It's not submissive or seductive in any way. Seriously, female body language will be somewhat more languid than that of males, and there's nothing wrong with that. I don't see how a girl (bot) behaving in a natural way is insulting and sexualized. That's like saying men who walk with a confident stride or sit with their legs apart are sexualizing masculinity.
The only legitimate case of TF female sexualization IMO is Kiss Players.

only one to come close to dinobot in height, was rhinox. and in one episode i recall rhinox grabbing him by the throat, and he had to pull him down to do so.
