I just noticed Hightower doesn't have a bot-mode in that pic.

His EZ Class figure makes him look like some kind of strange bird/dinosaur thing in robot mode...I was hoping to see concept art on him as well.

It won't be any kind of accurate, until there's some FansProject wrecking balls to add on.

Give them time, I bet someone is working on it already.

It would have been nice if they made the 4 and did the other 3 as bots so we could combine them.. and have a supreme devastator.
If they didn't want to sacrifice electronics for mixmaster's head thingy, then they could have split up the electronics into different bots, and when combined it would then light up and make sounds..
see now I would love to get an action figure of D-23! he's freaking sweeeet!
or
How about an action figure of Komatsu HD465-7! that large rig is sweet, and his Work in Progress robot mode is looking BOSS!!
Hasbro should have shelved Devastator for next year's release, or kept on working on it until the DVD release, and then made the bots combinatorial and transformable..
then I would have bought it at a 130.00 Price point.. instead of just a bunch of Tonka Colored Pieces of plastic that form a brightly colored transformer that is sorta cool, but way over priced.. and no details..or real good and worthy paint apps..

This is probably gonna start over the argument about Devastator's components being robots.
Posted by Jet Judo 101 on July 9th, 2009 @ 11:09am CDT
If hasbro was smart enough to make deluxe or voyager verisons of scrapper, hightower, and overload they would make more money, plus there would be much rejoiceing amoung fans! Why would they design concept art for something they're not gonna make? Just makes no sense...
And, if they did sell a Devastator that both combined and had indivdual robot forms, than Devastator himself would be bigger (if you think about) and thus more movie accurate.
Sorry about that long rant, just had to get it out
But, i diffenetly love the pics, and thanks for posting them.

Pointless scene and a resounding fail!

It really does bring up the whole individual robot mode for each constructicon argument now. With the picture of Overloads robot. The hi res picture is already my wallpaper haha!

Haha, now that you mention it Overload does look like the Sazabi lol.
I'm hoping that we see concept art for Hightower's robot mode now that we've seen Overloads. Before I was unsure about the legends class figures because I figured that they just pulled the design for Overload out of nowhere. So, I'm hoping that they had some sort of design to built Hightower off of.

I am SO buying the Legends figures....
Posted by YRQRM0 on July 9th, 2009 @ 1:53pm CDT
And you can see now Devastator's balls aren't anywhere to be seen, that was SO POINTLESS! Bay, PREPARE FOR EXTERMINATION by the REAL Devastator! lol

The image says under hightowers alt-mode "No robot form". So he had no real robot-mode.

Here's a question: if each of the parts of Devastator had individual robot modes (which would've been extremely cool and probably got more tickets sold), why did they kill that aspect? As far as I can tell, it would've worked so why'd they kill it?[/quote]
They didn't kill the aspect, they just used it in a different way. In effect, they had TWO completely identical sets of constructicons involved in the same battle; one set forming Devastator and the other engaging NEST and the Autobots a few miles away. For example, at the same time Rampage is forming Devastator's left leg at the pyramid he is also getting his arms ripped off by Bumblebee in town. SO... either major continuity glitch or constructicon twins. You be the judge.

So are they seriously just not making a deluxe/voyager toy for any of those guys? Why would they do that?

Eh scroll down and click on "Fly on the Wall" for some reason I can't direct link to it. Stupid Yahoo.
He throws his "Grappling winch thing" at Sam and Mikaela.
They already made Demolisher (Scavenger), Rampage, Mixmaster, and Long Haul. I could definitely see Scrapper, and possible Overload and Hightower getting toys at some point.
What I am curious about is why Overload isn't part of the Supreme Devastator set?

REALLY? Because I remember seeing it very clearly. There's a very clear shot for several seconds of it driving before the whole combination mess starts up.

I only got the 5MB later of the day.

I bet takara will make a new devastator that is more movie accurate like the new Optimus prime that has gun
Posted by noctorro on July 10th, 2009 @ 3:51am CDT
They are still planing on making a devastator with all 7 robots (voyagers/deluxes)
but they didn't have time to make it work yet so they rushed and designed
a supreme class to satisfy the fans.
Or Takara is still working on something. Hey the only thing the toyline of Transformers 1
missed was Movie/Game Shockwave, even the video game 3d models got action figures + all the
extra military figures later on in the line.
I don't think it's going to stay this way with the constructicons, I think Hasbro or Takara
are going to try more with them.
And the constuctionballs were Bay's idea, I don't think a transformer designer would put that
stuff in on such an iconic character. Wheelie perhaps...

The 5MB version I made was just resampled in Ifranview. I didn't change the resolution or anything. http://www.mediafire.com/?ohjem2tymxd

They fold out from Hightower's undercarriage. They're not from a specific vehicle part, they're just there for symmetry and are hidden in vehicle mode.

Who knows. It certainly helped for a more unified look.

I've seen lots of swapping of the legs, but I'm pretty sure Longhaul is the right leg.
The face is red in the movie, but grey on the toys and a lot of concept art. I've heard talk that Overload is actually supposed to be the head but even after rewatching the combining scene, I can spot no evidence of this.

Mixmaster is deffinatly the face of Devastator. I noticed that the movie version using the cab of the cement mixer as the face, but all the toys use the cement drum as the face. So where does all that red come from. When the face is just being formed its pretty much all silver/grey, but in the next scene (when Devi's head is laying on the ground) it's covered in red paneling. I guess it could be possible that pieces of Scavenger or Overload could have shifted all the way up there...
Either way, I really like the red face, looks much more uniform.
