Our friends in Ontario seem to be as lucky as our friends in the Cincinatti, OH area...
According to member Magnimus:
"Following a post made by RandomFerret at TFworld2005 about TF Animated deluxes spotted at an Ontario, Canada Wal-Mart, I followed up on the posting and went to that location, the Eastgate Mall in Hamilton, Ontario. Lo and behold, I too found the first wave of deluxe figures (Bumblebee, Lockdown, Prowl, and Cybertron Optimus) for sale on the pegs. I bought them.
Here's a picture of my receipt (personal info removed) and a picture of my haul. More pictures forthcoming as I open up these badboys."
So Canadian toy hunting transfans, you may want to take a trip to your local Walmart, especially if you live near Hamilton, Ontario!
And the rest of us will wait impatiently and jealously as you get yours first! Congratulations! You can view the Seibertron galleries of the first few waves of Transformers Animated figures here to get yourself motivated!

I could see Cincinnati, but Ontario? Really?
And Shortround, no one's denying the fact that your information might be correct. We're just used to not having things go our way when it comes to the release of figures.
Time frames get moved up, pushed back, locations change, etc.
Still...until I see concrete proof that it's going to be more than just these two metro areas...I'm not wasting gas, money or time.

Actually, I don't care that you guys are getting the figures, in fact, more power to ya.
I just can't understand why Cinci and Ontario were picked out of all the places to do this test marketing thing.
I could see LA or Chicago or NYC. I understand (though I think it's a bad move, considering they'll all be hocked left and right...) that Cinci is where BotCon will be this year, but I'm guessing the Canadian release us because of Toronto and it's metro area.
That's just a guess though...still, I can't figure this out. I consider it to be dumb. Either release them or don't, but figure out a plan and stick with it Hasbro! It's hard enough keeping up with the show!

Don't let my last post confuse, I read it after and it came off a little rude. Normally the GTA gets new anything first, not just Transformers. It's a proven and invaluable test market. Besides, we have a Hasbro in our back yard. Too tell you the truth, I don't see this as a "test market" thing. I think it's just a normal release. Like any new line it will take a little while to spread out.
When Hasbro Canada orders it's figures from Takara they forcast higher then the states. To be honest I forget why, but I talked to a rep from Hasbro Canada a few months back and she was giving me that line. She was pretty hot, so I wasn't fully paying attention. I know it will come to me later when I'm not exhausted.
Ohio makes sense because Botcon will be there and that will boost the economy purely out of everyone attending botcon hitting up every Wal-mart, Target and TRU in the area.

I actually respect most of the mods here, GetterDragun never told me not to post my honest opinion about Animated.
Actually, I’ve found that sometimes, its hard to respect a lot of people here because they them selves are so disrespectful. I’m tired of being told to quit watching TFA because I don’t like it. When people tell me “if you don’t like the show, don’t watch it.” I find that disrespectful.
There are a LOT of people here who aren’t moderators and are quite disrespectful. I have some names in mind, but for the sake of not being a jerk I wont name them.

I also am a bit perplexed as to why the Eastgate Mall in Hamilton, Ontario even has these. I'm inclined to believe that it is come kind of mistake and the store put these figures out as part of regular TF toy restocking, unaware that they are not widely available. I'd go back to see if they restocked (thereby indicating they have more than a few cases of toys), but that Wal-Mart is a little out of the way. I'll check the other Wal-Marts in town and see if they have them too to determine if the appearance of TFA deluxes at Eastgate are a one-time fluke.

I didn't know as a mod we couldn't have a personality? I also think a little joking around is better than sending someone a PM. Have you ever sent anyone a PM as a mod to make a suggestion? 9 times out of 10 people think they are getting banned or yelled at for a simple suggestion in a PM, even though it could be something as simple as "Hey bud, you're signature is at 1024 x 768, could you please resize it?" So I only like to reserve PMs for something actually serious, not a little ribbing about posting your own rumor.
Now back on subject, even though I am in the states, I am wondering if I should have preordered all of these from HTS, if in fact theymight be out early. Here's hoping my figures arrive from HTS within the time frame of my items being able to be returned with thei receipts. Hopefully HTS follows suit if other stors start releasing early.

The fact you say that with a straight face is mind blowing. I'm sure the multi billion company who has offices all over the globe and a team of marketing personal who make more in a month than some do in a year know exactly what there doing. If they wanted to "cash in" they would have released them after the 5th episode.

I do indeed say it with a straight face.
As of late, Hasbro hasn't been at the top of their game.
1.) Movie figure shortage. (considering all that was invested into the venture, product should've been made available.)
2.) Waiting to release Animated and continue with the sales of the Movie line. (It's apparent that they're not selling like they once had. The figures (of all classes) are starting to warm shelves left and right. The Movie is out of theaters and DVD sales most likely aren't as hot as they once were, helping to push the product. Waiting until June at this point would be stupid.)
So with those two very legitimate thoughts, yeah, I can say it with a straight face.
I really don't care that you're going to disagree with me (and you will) you're entitled to your opinion and I'll gladly have mine.
Sure Hasbro's in it for the business, what company wouldn't be? But their tactics as of late have become crappy.
Waiting is stupid, when the current product just ain't cuttin' it.

I wouldn't get my hopes up on that. Last year I preordered the Movie Deluxe figs, and HTS didn't honor the moved up release date on that class. To top it they also showed up 2 weeks after the retail main date release.
I ordered these two though to take advantage of the discount, and since I intend on just keeping them packaged and stored outside of Megatron and StarScream(have a new head waiting to go on thta sucker). I realy don't care when they show up.
Still, I'm willing to bet, even if they don't bump up the release, you'll see them on the shelf before you get your shipment.

...but thanks for the informed heads up. I just happened to be passing a K-Mart and stopped in the other day (I know, I know--Cincy isn't Columbus, but it's Ohio...), but I won't be going out of my way to try to find the elusive early release. My wallet and I can definitely wait for June.

I happen to think they are at the top of their game. As was pointed out in another thread, we are in the midst of a TF Renaissance. The resurgence in interest has been massive, and Hasbro are simply having trouble keeping up with demand.
The movie figures have brought a rarely seen complexity to a main line, and the animated line is shaping up to to be unusually well proportioned + screen accurate, and a lot of fun. They're also taking care of all the die-hard G1ers with the continuation of the Classicverse line.
We have a hit movie, a hit tv show, and last Christmas's number 1 toy.
Waiting is always a pain, but I don't see any two ways about it. Someone at Hasbro's been making a lot of good decisions.

For me, I don't really think a street date has a lot of impact on me. Remember when Movie deluxes first came out? A week later TRU had a sale on all TF products. The people that waited got a little extra savings when they picked them up for what was basically a 6 for 4 deal.
I'm willing to bet that once they are mass released, there will be a sale shortly after to get the product out to the target market. It's just what businesses do to market a new product.
Once kids have these in there hands, they may want a lot more.
