I didn't think they'd actually make a deluxe groove considering they made him a legends class figure.

At least the inevitable amazon exclusive deluxe will have his original name

I think that is just the legends version attached, but a deluxe motorcycle is OK in my book!

I don't think so, as Unite Warriors does not accommodate Legends Class add-ons, so the likes of Blackjack and Powerglide are released in Adventure instead, as new characters at times, like Runabout for Blackjack. Same goes for Groove, who's repurposed as Override.

The great significance to Deluxe Groove is, of course, his potential retool: Afterburner of the Technobots, of which Scattershot was found in a listing.

Defenitely deluxe groove because honestly the leg is a little too thin to be the groove combined with rook leg mode

Sorry, not into a giant out of scale motorcycle myself, the other vehicles are off scale enough as it is.

I certainly hope so (or at least that the Japanese version will be cheap). If not, it would still see use state-side (see my previous post).

Well, I haven't yet ordered any of the Protectobots yet, and I wouldn't mind having a Deluxe Groove to keep Defensor traditional, so...

Still getting Rook regardless. I find the new members just as satisfying (if not more) than the OG gangsters, and Rook nails it.

So Hasbro went along with making them as a way for fans to recreate the original teams while also making the teams diverse enough on the shelves.

In this case, it's not a matter of lack of diversity but some weird adherence to scale (despite Rook being huge compared to his team mates if they were in scale). So Groove was developed as a Legend to keep him as part of the team.

I think that this Deluxe Groove is a TakaraTomy only initiative to have the original Protectobots with the same roles as the originals. Hence why Legends Groove is Adventure Override and now we have a Deluxe Groove coming.

Exactly! Autobot or Decepticon, all bend knee to Galvatronus (or make one).

I'd been thinking I'd be satisfied with the Hasbro Defensor, but damn it, now Takara has me reconsidering! Hopefully we get a better picture before it is too late to cancel my existing pre-orders if I do decide to go Takara.

I think the other issue is Takara are selling these as one set as opposed to Hasbro who are selling each figure individually. Takara can get away with some uniformity in design that way since 5 figures are moving in one swoop whereas Hasbro feels they need some diversity on the shelves.

Groovy but I already have Defensor but if Hasbor release him I'm sure to give in and get that version. Even with it just being a silhouette I can already tell Afterburner will need some Intense remoulding to look right.

If TakaraTomy gives us a Deluxe Class Groove, that will be really awesome! But making Groove a Legends Class figure was much better in terms of scale (you don't see a motorcycle the same size as a helicopter do you), and Rook is an awesome figure, so really, I both like and don't like and don't like the idea of a Deluxe Class Combiner Wars Groove. What do you all think of the idea of a Deluxe Combiner Wars Groove?

I don't think that will be a problem given the level of retooling used throughout the last year or two. I mean, look at Air Raid and Skydive!

Also, this pretty much confirms a future Computron and hell, why not, predictions have been correct, a Bruticus! Also, hey HasTak, we need Predacons/Seacons/Terrorcons! I'll even give the ideas:
Divebomb-Cutthroat, even Seawing if they get creative
Overbite-Rippersnapper, Skalor
Headstrong-Tantrum
Rampage-Ravage?Cheetor should we get Rhinox from Headstrong?
Blot-Tentakill?Skalor?
And this one woulld take MASSIVE retooling, but Razorclaw could become Snaptrap, both are four legged beasts with twin cannons on their backs, and both end up with the animal head as a chest.
Sinnertwin could become a Monsterbot, like many have customized the TFP legion one as, Blot as well.
Also, while Hun-Grr would need a new mould, he could be retooled into RiD Megatron...And bam! A reason for the Hotspot redeco everyone wants!

This news tells me that Rook is then definitely intended as another combiner member. But which one would it be? The leaked listings show that both Computron and Bruticus are getting all their members (no new ones).

Well, I'd be intrigued by a Groove if I didn't already have to duplicate the others. And I like relative scale, (IE, not a stickler, but good to be close.) when the character is implicated to be a human motorcycle, and not a Cybertronian scaled one (Like Wreck-Gar).

I have a feeling that Takara will release combiner wars optimus, plus the additional (recoloured) "extra" characters (Rook, Alpha Bravo, etc) as Energon Optimus Primw, complete with his "OP 1-4" drones. It wouldn't surprise me if he even came with a trailer, but wouldn't be upset if he didn't. Then, Takara can sell recoloured drones for Grand Scourge, too as store exclusives (so you need to buy one each from a different shop)...

You guys are fooling yourselves if you believe all of that. It just comes down to ... how can we maximize our profits? There's a reason Takara's keep not getting announced until after the initial Hasbro shipments begin arriving. There's nothing wrong with making money ... this is just a perfect example of how to make money while not showing all of your cards.

Via the eHobby Shop website, we have two additional images of Takara Tomy Unite Warriors Grand Scourge, the upcoming Nemesis-esque repaints of the Combiner Wars Optimus Prime figure. The photos, mirrored below, show the figure in both combiner mode and holding the cleaver Matrix Breaker with both hands, for those collectors who like they murderous swordbots. Check 'em out!

That is painfully good looking. But I've decided to just keep my Prime and give him Rook and Alpha Bravo.

He's back up for preorder at HLJ, by the way. He was pre-sold out for some time, but no longer.
