Lockdown is of course a re-deco of the original Transformers Animated figure, while the Insecticons (Bombshell & Skrapnel) hail from the Legends Class Generations/Combiner Wars lines. Lockdown aside from deco remains unchanged, but the bugs have been slightly remolded in order to incorporate the circle TAV logo sticker on their chests. Yeah, me too. Both companies care about the brand and have their own agendas with products they want to put out and in what way. And it's not like Takara is the be all end all, after all they were the ones who came up with the Microns which is a concept very few like. Oh sure Takara, give Megatron a gorilla micron I have to piece together myself instead of a nice cannon.

The whole arms micron thing seems silly to us westerners, but it was aimed at the Japanese teen market, with whom modelling is a big thing. Easy. Do as I did. Get both and switch the weapons around! As an added bonus, misstransform Kup to make him very different.

Modding the second I-Gear Generations Kup head from the kit may be a bit overkill though.

I got both and painted Ironhide with a bit more red. I re painted lip and turned him into Brawn.

"lip" was likely a typo for Kup, meaning Kup was painted into Brawn, not the Micron (whose name is "Iro", btw).
