Appears to be Star Saber without his helmet on, you can see the rockets under his chin.

I'm just happy to see Scorponok show up. I wonder why the Headmaster is being shadowed when the transtector is right there in plain sight?

As for Megazarak, that was like a "flashback" scene of his transtector in "The Headmasters"

Small note, the smallest forms of the Brainmasters have no proper names, they're just referred to as "Brain of <insert attribute>", in Star Saber's case "Brain of Courage". They only appear in transformation stock footage, never on their own in regular scenes, so they shouldn't really be considered proper characters.
Also, Star Saber (that name is spelled out on the image btw) is seen without his helmet on a somewhat regular basis outside of battle in the anime. With a shout of "Battle Up" the helmet is put on, ready to battle. In fact, in Legends all Headmasters that have full helmets (i.e. Leader Class figures) follow the very same convention, Blaster is initially seen without a helmet even.

We got us a summary of "Mutant Targetmaster Birth Chapter":

On the planet Master sometime prior to 2011, Scorponok has gotten his hands on some coveted plasma energy and found that while it usually destroys inorganic matter, exposing it to Transformer bodies in a certain way may let them develop new transformations and combinations. Seeking to make himself stronger, he captures six Master inhabitants who have not trained to be Headmasters—Peacemaker, Pinpointer, Spoilsport, Caliburst, Blowpipe and Aimless—and experiments on them by exposing them to the energy. Fortress finds out and puts a stop to the experiments, sparking the beginning of Scorponok's rebellion that sees him exiled from Master. The victims, who have lost the ability to speak, receive medical treatment for years until the day Scorponok returns with his MegaZarak transtector and attempts to recapture them, prompting the six to flee the planet and seek out Fortress. While helping Fortress clear the Battleship Maximus of plasma energy bombs, however, they are exposed to another wave of the energy and bonded with three Autobots and three Decepticons, becoming the Targetmasters.

In 2021, the Autobot Targetmasters rediscover their partners in the void of space following their disappearance during the black hole battle, but the six have merged together into a clump of guns infused with massive amounts of plasma energy. Despite their previous exposure to the energy, even the bodies of the Targetmasters begin eroding when they approach, but before things go bad the Targetmasters partners suddenly disappear: unbeknownst to the Autobots, their Decepticon counterparts in the Legends World have captured Alpha Trion and forced him to use his ultra-drill to bring the partners there. However, even Trion can't control the runaway plasma energy which somehow merges with the Zamojin power of the Legends World, allowing the Targetmaster partners to absorb the dimension's collective information about Transformers and begin transforming into an "ultimate weapon". As he knows such a weapon would be uncontrollable and the plasma energy burst will destroy both him and the Decepticons, Alpha Trion puts the ultra-drill into reverse, destroying the device and warping the six Targetmaster partners to random locations in the world.

Alpha Trion relays the recent events to the G1 World, where Shaoshao Li forwards the information to Galactic Peace Alliance chairman Spike Witwicky. Aware that Megatron is active in the Legends World, Spike orders Shaoshao to covertly recover the mutated Targetmasters before Megatron can learn of their existence. After Shaoshao leaves to fetch Hot Rod, however, "Spike" removes his mask and reports to his allies in the Concurrence that the Targetmasters are the perfect source of the plasma energy they need to destroy the Autobots, take control of the Galactic Peace Alliance and rule the galaxy!

Huh, looks like Blowpipe is developing the same powers as Apeface. You'd think the girls in Legends would be used to that by now

With every release of a Takara Transformers Legends toy, we also get a new Legends Comic. These always garner quite a bit of attention for how much story is crammed in just a few pages,
along with its tie in with the Japanese G1 continuity and for the controversial nature of how the female characters are handled. This time is no different with Blowpipe from, the LG49 Triggerhappy comic, developing the same powers as Apeface, where his blast can blow off women's clothes. This of course means that the Triggerhappy comic below is not safe for work.
That is far from all there is to these comics though since they also include great nods, easter eggs and appearances. The LG47 Kickback comic has Clouder take over the body of Black Convoy and we see him use a Hand/Foot/Gun. The Triggerhappy comic shows him using the configurable option of gun hands. And the LG48 Brawn comic has an appearance from God Neptune's Scylla, who gets quite the spotlight.

What else do you see in these pages? Let us know! And a big thank you to Powered Convoy for scanning these comics.

I suppose it might be useful for removing the Master armor so the Autobot Targetmasters can't turn into guns? (Is that what the manga depicts, in fact? I can't examine it too closely seeing as I'm at work right this moment.) I mean, that's the only in-fiction usefulness I can think of for that ability. But in all honesty, I think we know what the real reason is for Blowpipe possessing this power

Randomhero wrote:NSFW... what a joke. Everyone’s gotta act like a sensitive special snowflake now and be offended by everything and need sheltered.
Okay, for serious? I actually am at work (as just mentioned above) and that warning might well have saved my skin. Luckily it seems like my various coworkers are pretty chill with me having messageboards up when they walk past occasionally, but I get the feeling naked-anime-girls wouldn't go over nearly as well

I don't personally have a strong enough opinion to get into a debate about whether content warnings are necessary in general, but let's not forget that NSFW in essence does mean "Not Safe For Work", and in that context, it's a really useful label to have.

Close. It's not Black Convoy's body per se, but the body of one of many Black Convoy drones. Clouder was previously seen in command of a whole army of them (and an army of Beast Machines Tank Drones) in one of the Trypticon comics. As Clouder is now a member of the Legend World's Japanese Self-Defense Forces, he presumably has government-sanctioned access to such military armaments. 8-)

I am just doing whatever I can to still present the comic to you guys while doing everything by the book. By comparison, TFW chose to flat out not post the comics and only news the bios.

And just for your information, here is an ad from the comic book legal defense fund showing that having material similar to what we find in the comic can have serious circumstances depending on where you are. If you feel this is too much, you are free to join their cause.

I just want to ensure everyone is happy and those who want to see the comic still can :)

So the Spike in the previous manga is a fake(?) And, so I was correct that it looked like Spike. So the upcoming Bumble will have the "real" Spike? So who's the "fake" one?

As for Minerva, how much has time elapsed since Masterforce? I doubt it she's still 15 years old as Dinosaurer is post Zone

Also, so Brawn/Gong's new body is like a powered suit this time around? I wonder how Grimlock will return back to his Dino body in Takara's PotPrimes version?

That's where things get tricky. The thing is, while Full-Tilt was brought to the Legends World from a point in the JG1 universe set after Zone, Minerva came to the Legends World from the JG1 universe in the year 2021, which is some years before Zone. And yet, very little time has passed in the Legends World between Minerva's arrival there and Trypticon's arrival there. In fact, Megatron arrived in the Legends World from a point even after G-2 (further after Zone) in the JG1 universe, yet even though he came from an even later point that Trypticon, he arrived in the Legends World before even Minerva did. Thus, it would seem that time in the Legends World does not correspond to time in the JG1 universe, as it seems that anyone from the JG1 universe can just come and go to the Legends World with no regard for chronology or the passage of time in the JG1 universe.

That said, while we know that Minerva came to the Legends World from the year 2021 in the JG1 universe, we still do not know, officially, what year the Masterforce cartoon is set in. All we know is that it is set at some point between 2011 and 2021, but given that all of the Masterforce characters who have thus far appeared in the Legends manga look no older than they did in the cartoon, it is plausible that the Masterforce cartoon takes place at some point closer to 2021 than not. If anything, Minerva (and the rest of the Masterforce humans) may have aged one year since her appearance in the cartoon, but that's just a guess since we still don't know what year Masterforce was set in.

fenrir72 wrote:Also, so Brawn/Gong's new body is like a powered suit this time around? I wonder how Grimlock will return back to his Dino body in Takara's PotPrimes version?
We'll have to wait and see. Though, since the PotP Grimlock toy is a combiner, Takara may release it not as part of the Legends line but as part of a revival of the Unite Warriors line, which could very well see Grimlock in his PotP Combiner body at a point in his life before he became a Headmaster rather than after. But, then again, it could just as well be that he does become a combiner after his time as a Headmaster like you suggest. It could go either way, really, so we'll just have to wait and see what Takara does with Grimlock.

Minerva and the gang traveled to the Legends Universe in G1 year 2021, after Masterforce but before Victory's in-universe year of 2025. As Legends is a different universe altogether (the Iocus cluster, according to Club Transtech fiction), visitors travel through space as well as time, relatively speaking.

So Minerva is still 15 at the youngest, as no proper year is given for Masterforce proper.

About Grimlock. I wonder what literature gymnastics Takara is going to apply here? Gong on the other hand, so he DID survive the 2005 ambush. But what shrunk him to headmaster size? His immigration to Planet master? Like Cha'r?

More like a build upon how the Concurrence (the group of human villains he is seen reporting to in the online manga) consists of both Transformers and G.I. Joe villains--particularly Count von Rani and General Kreiger--as the Japanese dub of the G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero cartoon is considered part of the Japanese G1 Transformers cartoon universe, albeit set in the early 1990s instead of the 80s like the English version was, with the Concurrence itself first appearing in the Binaltech storyline.

Okay, just found out how/why Blowpipe was disintegrating everyone's clothes. Turns out he's full of Plasma Energy, which as we'll recall from both The Rebirth and Beast Machines, is harmful to inorganic materials. Hot Rod hides behind Shaoshao to avoid getting hit by the blast, so while Shaoshao herself is unharmed, her clothes are destroyed since they're made of inorganic fibers. This also explains why Ravage appears so damaged as well, as he wasn't so lucky in dodging Blowpipe's attacks.

So the "nudity" scenes are again a nod( and part of the plot and not just a random show 'em some skin T & A ;) ) to the ill effects of the Plasma Energy Chamber on inorganics. Spike and the Nebulans were immune while TFs short out in Rebirth. So "clothes" burn off.

As for the manga with Clouder, is that a flashback or a portent of things to come with Mega and Giga aka Overlord's binding again with organics ( when did they resurrect?)

The author and his backstory researchers are real troopers in this regard!

For the NSFW debate, I have no problem with the site putting whatever designation they deem fit based on whatever guidelines are needed for this particular recurring theme in the JG1 magna.

But am I the only one to think that my job has nothing to do with transformers, so just being on seibertron.com is technically NSFW for me? The point isn't really the content, but the fact that it isn't work related. (Not that that stops me...)

Kickback & Clouder
The Insecticons once attempted to use their clones to overrun the universe and sate their hunger, only to be stopped by Skids, Screech and a new, extra powerful robotic insecticide. Having learned of Blowpipe's cloning ability, Kickback decides to try again and travels to the Legends World where he eats his way into the police station where the mutant Targetmaster is held and uses him to create a swarm of tiny Kickback clones. As the clones begin swarming Neo Akihabara City, eating into everything and converting it into energon for Kickback, Mayor Megatron relies on the city's secret weapon—Major Clouder, commanding officer of the JSDF's drone units.

After dropping out of the sky and kicking Kickback (who laments that kicking is his thing), the Masterforce armor-clad Clouder orders his Tank Drones to unleash robotic insecticide on the swarm, but the Insecticon stops him by pointing out that Blowpipe has granted him the ability to turn others into clones of himself, and many of the Kickback clones are in fact innocent citizens. The taken aback Clouder is contacted by Wheeljack, who tells him he's modified a Black Convoy drone to serve as a transtector and equipped it with an Immobilizer V2. Clouder combines with the drone and freezes Kickback and his clones in place, allowing the Autobots to revert the transformed citizens to normal and recover Blowpipe.

After being thanked by Megatron for saving the city, Clouder returns to his true masters—Giga and Mega—who praise him for earning Megatron's trust and providing them with information about the Legends World. In the end, he is after all the two-faced Doubleclouder, and you never know if he's an ally or a spy.

Gong (Brawn) & Repug (Repugnus)
Brawn has finally made enough money from his construction job to restore his original body, and proudly shows it off to his roommate, Repugnus. Though impressed at first, Repugnus accidentally uncovers that the "body" is actually a mech being piloted by the real Brawn, who remains a tiny Headmaster. Brawn explains that he's met a girl, Scylla, who prefers larger men, but could never make enough money to afford a transtector so he settled for a smaller piloted body. When the day comes for his arranged date with Scylla, however, Brawn comes down with a virus and tells Repugnus to go in his stead, using the body to pretend to be him. Repugnus is hesitant, so Brawn reminds his roommate that he owes him, being a freeloader who Brawn has been taking care of ever since he left Beast, but also promises to buy him a body too if things goes well.

Repugnus relents and goes on the date with Scylla, but leaves destruction in his wake since he doesn't know how to control the body and keeps blasting and walking into things. Scylla requests he transform and he barely manages thanks to phone contact with Brawn, only for the ruse to be up anyway when Scylla, wanting to ride the car mode, opens the cockpit and finds Repugnus inside. Throwing him out, she takes control of the body herself and barges into Brawn's place, demanding an explanation.

Targetmaster Triggerhappy
While in police custody, Blowpipe begins emitting dangerous amounts of plasma energy that destroys all inorganic substances it touches, including the police officers' clothes and the back half of Ravage. Regular Transformers can't even approach the energy, and the still living Ravage informs his colleagues that there's only one who can—Blowpipe's Targetmaster partner, Triggerhappy. Triggerhappy is currently running a shooting gallery to earn money for a transtector, but his business is going poorly because whenever a customer misses a target, the gun-loving marksman is compelled to show them how it's done and shoots it for them, effectively giving away all his prizes.

Hot Rod approaches Triggerhappy and asks for his help with controlling Blowpipe, who has begun rampaging through the city, seeing as how he's been bathed in plasma energy before when the two were bonded and should be immune to his emissions. Triggerhappy argues that he can't combine with Blowpipe in his current Headmaster form, so the police provide him with a transtector that allows him to shrug off Blowpipe's plasma energy and blast the smaller Targetmaster into submission. Upon retrieving his old partner, he immediately tries to blast everyone else as well, but the clone beam instead ends up restoring everything Blowpipe destroyed, including Ravage's body. Unsure about what to do with him, Hot Rod and Shaoshao end up inducting Triggerhappy into the police force as well, seeing as that way they can at least keep an eye on him. The Targetmaster is happy with this since it means he gets to legally fire guns, though he ends up causing trouble by always going in guns blazing, even during delicate hostage situations.

Mega and Giga are ALIVE! Did Devil Z change his mind and resurrect them? Guess we'll have to wait next year for the answer.

As for Gong, was he part of the battle when BlackZarak exploded that Blackball bomb or did he join Cha'r and got "Micronized"? Wished that would be cleared up later.

Kickback gone "lonewolf" now?

Apperently, we might going to see what happened to Giga and Mega on the LG-60 Overlord soon.

Gong/Brawn was affected by the mini black holes, i'm sure of it.

I'm still not sure about kickback, still hoping for an LG-EX Insectron (Insecticon) with Bombshell and Skrapnel :HEADHURTS:

Our friends Powered Convoy has uploaded the comic scans and tech specs for Takara's recently released Transformers Legends LG-50 Sixshot, LG-51 Doublecross, LG-52 Misfire, and LG-53 Broadside.

With Sixshot being a leader class figure, we get a lengthier comic and a chance to showcase all his modes in a glorious fashion through a fight with Ultra Magnus. We even see the appearance of the flying wolf mode, an extra mode the toy can have which is not included in the instructions.

The Broadside comic has a lot of fun with the idea of Broadside's changing looks throughout history with his latest look being the headmaster unit (which was called Blunderbuss when released by Hasbro). They keep the scale established with the aerialbots that are included with the set, making Broadside massive even just as a head. He towers over Megatron and Optimus (who is using his Masterpiece body here, interestingly enough) and Grand Scourge who makes a fun return.

Broadside is gigantic when combined to his transtector, dwarfing even Trypticon.

The Doublecross comic shows us that it is indeed White Leo piloting the Transtector, though the image shows us two different White Leos so i is unsure exactly what is going on without a proper translation.

The Misfire comic has Hayato Sacomoto create some brand new fiction for the grey and black Autobot Targetmasters. Unlike the Decepticons Targetmasters and the three red and gray Autobot Targetmasters, who are smaller robots, these grey and black Autobot Targetmasters are girls.

These are filled the the usual fan service from the artist who takes it up a notch with the addition of anthropomorphised animals through Battle Beasts.

Remember that these must be read from right to left (from up to down).

Enjoy!

So Broadside can grow bigger than Trypticon? And Misfire has a weird age regression gun? And the Battle Beasts don't wear pants?

Oh Japan. Despite being one of my favorite countries... I still don't understand what the f**k goes on over there.

And is it me, or does Star Saber's brain master look like it has a titan master face on it? Will we actually be getting a POTP Star Saber!? Or is it just the Masterpiece...

These comics always look so damn cluttered with speech bubbles they give me a headache even just looking at them even though I'm not even attempting to read them (since I can't read japanese anyways).

Synopses for all but the Broadside comic:

Sixshot:
In the G1 World, former Decepticon ninja staff officer Sixshot surrenders to the Autobots to be imprisoned at the Planet Micro Satellite Penitentiary. Recognizing him as a member of the dangerous Six Clan, the personnel neutralize his six-changing ability by removing his head and converting it into a micro-sized robot mode, unaware that Sixshot has already been ostracized from the ninja clan by joining the war, going against their rules to stay secret. This is all according to Sixshot's plan, however, as he's working with Daniel Witwicky to infiltrate the prison and break out Star Saber, unjustly imprisoned by the compromised Galactic Peace Alliance. The Sixshot body held within the prison suddenly falls to pieces as Daniel pilots his real body, already modified into a transtector, out from the lava underneath the facility. Escaping into space with Sixshot and Star Saber, he explains that they'll hide from the Alliance in the Legends World.

On arrival, Daniel seeks out Chromedome, who agrees to shelter him and Star Saber but refuses to help Sixshot, murderer of his friends Abel and Jack. Sixshot turns to leave, but Chromedome changes his mind and lets him stay... in exchange for working as his art assistant, as Chromedome has quit his job to become a full-time manga artist. Sixshot doesn't fully understand the "moe" artstyle he helps ink, but reflects that it's good that Chromedome has found a way to reach out to people's hearts, seeing as he himself is only good at killing. He also notes a certain resemblance between Chromedome's original character and Arcee, causing the Autobot to grow flustered while the others tease him about his old crush. Suddenly, Ultra Magnus arrives on their doorstep, having been tasked by the Galactic Peace Alliance with capturing the fugitives. Not wanting to cause any trouble for his benefactor, Sixshot decides to act like he's been holding Chromedome hostage and confront Magnus while Daniel and Star Saber escape.

Ultra Magnus is happy for a rematch with his killer, positive that he won't lose with power of Alpha Trion, Matrix, on his side. Sixshot merges with his transtector and attacks the Autobot using several of his modes, intending to finish him off with his seventh Wingwolf mode once again, but this time Ultra Magnus is able to catch him out of the air and throw him to the ground. They both transform into their car modes and ram each other head on, and when the dust from the collision settles, Sixshot stands victorious... until he's suddenly impaled from behind by Nightbird, agent of the Six Clan, as punishment for defying them. Daniel rushes out to his friend, but Sixshot accepts his death, considering it just deserts for his evil deeds, and tells Daniel to treasure his life before succumbing to his injuries and exploding.

But that is not the end: a bandage-clad but alive Sixshot later purchases the magazine in which Chromedome's manga has been published and, treasuring the moment of peace he experienced working on it, resolves to repay him. Having learned that the dead can be resurrected in the Legends World, he seeks out Giga for help, wanting to bring back the friends of Chromedome he killed. Giga explains that the power to do so, the spirit energy used by the Zamojin, is none other than Shinchōkon—"God Super Soul"—and questions if Sixshot has the resolve needed to control it.

Doublecross:
The Legends World is visited by White Leo, leader of the Beastformers, exiled from his homeworld of Beast after being defeated by his enemies, the Laser Beasts. He uses six mystical jewels to transform Neo Akihabara City into a jungle and recruit the unwilling local beasts to fight alongside him, granting them Beastformer armor, though the local humans instead end up as naked as animals (and are offended when White Leo calls them "ape-type beasts"). Unfortunately, White Leo finds that he's been followed by his nemesis Tigerburn, Emperor of the Laser Beasts, who explains that the six jewels contain the crystallized power of the Three Wise Ones and that he wants his hands on them. Tigerburn is seated atop Doublecross, to the surprise of his old buddy Repugnus, and White Leo explains that the Monsterbot has been Tigerburn's puppet ever since the Laser Beasts cut his head off, removing his sense of self. Furthermore, Tigerburn reveals that he's modified his body to become completely robotic, used Legends technology to become a Headmaster in order to combine with Doublecross's body, and acquired the most powerful Laser Beast weapon, the Haywire Laser.

White Leo can do nothing but flee from the powered-up Tigerburn, but his younger sister, White Lune, appears before him with Doublecross's severed head and a plan: if the Three Wise Ones once used the jewels to create the Beastformers by giving machines to animals, they should be able to use them to evolve further alongside machines. The jewels emit a light that sucks in the Haywire Laser and merges it with White Lune, who transforms into a robot and knocks Tigerburn's block off. White Leo himself is merged with Doublecross's head, allowing him to transform into it and combine with Doublecross, whose mind(s) is restored in the process. Doublecross and White Lune blow Tigerburn back into his own dimension with a Spark Fire Attack, after which the siblings prepare to return and continue the war back home, but first they stop to apologize to the Legends locals for forcing them to become Beastformers. Upset, Rattrap and Tigatron tell them to consider how things would be if their roles were reverse: how would the Beastformers like it if they were forced to wear nothing but neckties and work as office workers? White Leo and Lune agree that it would be awful.

Misfire:
The buildings in Neo Akihabara City are being bought up one by one by Misfire, whose luck in gambling and the stock market has made him filthy rich. When the 'bot himself appears, throwing money around and demanding to be called "Perfectfire" from now on, Triggerhappy refuses to believe someone as unlucky and prone to missing as him could pull this off. Hot Rod and Shaoshao Li are also suspicious, especially given the presence of Misfire's Targetmaster partner, Aimless, and that night they sneak into Misfire's purchased Trypticon to investigate. Misfire catches them and fires Aimless at Hot Rod, but instead hits Shaoshao, transforming her into an infant! He reveals that Aimless's mutant ability is to shoot through time itself, allowing him to see into the future and get rich, which in turn has afforded him a transtector that he combines with.

Misfire blasts a hole into the future in order to predict how Hot Rod will move, making it impossible for the Autobot to dodge his attacks... but is somehow so bad at aiming that even knowing the future, he fails to hit a completely still Hot Rod and instead ends up blasting all the stuff he's bought, which disappears to when-knows-where. Hot Rod punches his head off and demands he restore Shaoshao to normal, only for Misfire to miss again and hit Hot Rod, "aging" him into Rodimus Prime. Everything is eventually cleared up and Misfire and Aimless are arrested, though Shaoshao is mad at Hot Rod for not making her younger when he had the chance. Unfortunately, the officer supposed to interrogate Misfire is Triggerhappy, who starts teaching his old comrade how to aim instead.

Oh boy, this is hilarious. The Arcee with literal drill-hair is my favourite, along with shameless Papika, the continued misadventures of Hot Rod and Shaoshao (featuring a callback to that one episode where Marissa gets babyfied) and actually to scale Broadside.

Also, does this mean Battle Beasts are officially part of Transformers canon now? I mean, I know nothing about Battle Beasts, but if this is gonna be anything like the Ask Vector Prime Gobots shenanigans I can see a glorious outpouring of salt from Walky and co.

The Beastformers (as they're called in Japan) were always part of Transformers. They were released in Japan under the Autobot and Decepticon factions as allies to each, and they appeared multiple times in The Headmasters cartoon.

Only the Western version, Battle Beasts, was released as its own line unrelated to Transformers.
