Yet another Transformers Legends image comes our way from TFYUKI's Twitter Account courtesy of fellow Seibertronian Cyberpath. Said image being of Takara Tomy's rendition of Wheelie in more cartoon-accurate colours bundled with the headmaster of Goshooter; a redeco of the Titan Master Loudmouth (Siren) in Hasbro's markets. different shades of orange too. Kinda like the Hasbro version. Except this one looks way better.I love the clear cockpit on this one.

I actually prefer HASBRO's smoky-tinted windows on Wheelie.

But, I think I like the other Wheelie colors better.

As for the Hasbro grey to the Takara brown, I agree with you. For me, this time around, I like the Hasbro versions a little better than the Takara versions. I know I'm probably in the minority on this one, but I think the color schemes are better matched in the Hasbros.

I do kinda like the heads though. Takara did a better job on those IMHO. The solution I read about painting them is a good one, but for Hardhead the entire sculpt is different.

Legends Hardhead just arrived. I'm very impressed with this guy. I don't know why, but I am. And the box is beautiful.

Super Convoy needs his trailer shells to be black and the trailer stripes on said shells to be blue.

Although, thinking about it, maybe using the PMOP version of the mold would work better since it, for once, is supposed to be Convoy/Optimus himself, and he's also a legit Powermaster instead of a Godmaster. :idea:

Hardhead and Skullcruncher arrived today! First impressions:

They are smaller than I imagined :lol:

I knew they were deluxe size but seeing them in-hand is different. This makes the details rather impressive.

I opened Skullcruncher first because I was looking forward to having a Decepticon with a beast-mode, finally. He's kind of difficult to pose in robot-mode and the joints are inconsistent.. some are tight (arms) and some kind of loosey (legs.) Anyone else have this issue?

The alligator's head-articulation is really cool, but I wish the back legs had knee-articulation. Maybe instead of the dino/bird accessory.

I like the handgun, unlike Hardhead's it's proportional and sleek. But not a fan of the tail partforming -- it looks goofy as a weapon and falls off as a tail.

Skullcruncher has some rubbery parts.. why? Don't those get sticky and gross real fast? Should I apply Future to them?

His transformation is pretty simplistic, but I'm very impressed with Hardhead's innovative transformation!

The backstory is that during a fuel crisis, Optimus Prime set out to find the miracle fuel Nucleon, which is found in Black Holes. The black coloring is a special coating or armor, devised by Hi-Q, to protect him from the extreme gravity.

You know, I could totally see TakaraTomy releasing this as an exclusive, using the unaltered version of the Powermaster Optimus Prime mold and not the Super Ginrai retool.

Fellow Seibertronian chuckdawg1999 has sent our way a video review showing off the differences and similarities in the Titans Return and Legends Headmaster Hardhead (which includes the little tank found with Terri-bull, too) figures, from Hasbro and Takara Tomy respectively! Hardhead was one of the original Headmasters introduced during the Rebirth miniseries. I've always felt a closer connection to the US fiction than the Takara version, where the smaller robots were the characters who combined with transforming vehicles. Takara as usual has enhanced the experience with a cartoon accurate deco and face, while including a repainted Titan Master vehicle to round out the pack. The Legends set is the better value but may be harder to find at this point.

Hey both look very nice. I'm happy with hasbros but I've become so hooked on the legend comics I really want both, stuff is just getting good too pricey now though

I do much prefer the takara one. Not just for the head, though that was the draw. So glad managed to snag him for 20 quid.

I like a lot about Ginrai, but my eyes keep getting drawn down to those "feet." And something about them, maybe the way the trailer wheels hang off of the ankle, I don't know, but it kinda ruins the fig for me. I will probably still get him, but he may stay in semi mode in my display....

I'm really hoping the feet look better in person...

Just picked up Glavatron,Hardohead and Skull. So small the last two. Great looking in person but kind of small when compared to my originals. All I have to wait for next is an eventual Scorponok/Megazarak remake/re-issue.

I think that is the most off putting about the feet, that the trailer separates from them. I know that can't really be fixed, but that is the only issue I have. I still think he's better than my Titans Return Powermaster Optimus Prime in every way though :lol:

As for Hardhead I prefer the Hasbro one. For me, Hardhead just looks better with a mouthplate like my old G1 toy. That's my preference.

I really wish he had the same type of big blocky feet that Titans Return Powermaster Prime has. He'd be a lot better then. Although not good enough for me to spend almost $100.

I wonder if the feet were necessary for their version of God Bomber? I can understand wanting to make them look like the original, but I'm sure they could have made them more solid if they didn't have a dual purpose.

My only other hookup is the hand guns. While they're an improvement over the Hasbro guns I don't understand the shape. To me the should be massive canons, not skinny little laser rifles. And what's with the blue? I'm trying to find a still from the cartoon to see how they look there, but I can't find one to compare.

So I have my eyes on the Legends Slipstream because I like her design and I don't have any female Decepticons. Something I plan to change here soon-ish. I know she's a retool of Windblade though. What are the thoughts and consensus on the figure? Any issues I need to be aware of? The only Takara figure I have otherwise is the Deluxe Transformers Prime/First Edition Megatron and I'm fairly happy with it.

Nice and shiney paint. The new rifles are great and a very nice headsculpt. She has the same standing problem as Windblade. It's possible to get her standing but she can fall over easy if you're not careful. But she's a worthy addition to a seeker she;f.

Honestly I loved the design, it's very neat looking. I just wish it was leader-class, but eh. It works. You know? Mostly that's for scaling reasons. I love the larger figures for TFs.

Is there a guide of sorts floating around here for that Sigma? Or is it easily done to the point you don't need a guide and you can just fiddle with it on your own?

The Windblade mold is a decent toy but very fiddly and sometimes some parts don't like to stay held together, but it's not terrible.

Though, bear in mind that Legends Slipstream is meant to be the Animated character proper in an upgraded body form, rather than a G1 equivalent version of the Animated character, thus her head has a very Animated-based aesthetic, and her deco has lots of shiny paint apps to match the shininess of the Japanese Animated line.

Ah. I see. Even my TFP Takara/FE Deluxe Megatron is a bit fiddly with the parts staying together. It takes me a minute or two to line it all up, but once they get properly lined up they're good to go. Are the Slipstream and Windblade figures like that then?

Personally, I like the Legends toy more than the TFCC toy and it also appears to be cheaper to get than the TFCC toy is at least. I'm in mind to go for the less expensive way as I am a cheapo. It's a family trait I seemed to have inherited from my dad. We're very frugal. Heh.

But seriously, the Legends toy is cheaper than the Timelines/Collector Club way and I feel it looks nicer too! Though it's preference so you can feel entirely different from me and that's fine.

But seriously, the Legends toy is cheaper than the Timelines/Collector Club way and I feel it looks nicer too! Though it's preference so you can feel entirely different from me and that's fine.

Nah I desperately want Legends Slipstream too - as well as Nightbird. Especially Nightbird. I friggin' love that Nightbird.

Go for her. Only weird part is the lack of paint apps on the back of her head. Cost cutting? She doesn't have no light piping. Minute issue.

On another issue, on Ginrai aka Super Ginrai's feet. It's got foot tilts. Thats more than enough aside for the massive retool.

Jeez, Takara's Prime (I don't like the Ginrai name) looks so much better in colour and the feet look fine from the front.

Glad I didn't buy Hasbro's one yet. Hated the chest area on it. Takara's looks much more like G1 PM Prime right down to the Hi-Q style bit. Skipping it for Takara...
