Yeah, you made your point very clear, that people have become too sensitive and PC about the alleged sexualization and objectification of female TF's. But his point is precisely that Hasbro or whoever's in charge of taking these pics should indeed be more careful in avoiding the objectification of the female characters. Isn't that the opposite of what you've been trying to say?fenrir72 wrote:So if let's say Strika was released, she's built like a tank and not too humanoid looking, heaven forbid another gender issue is raised. Wish that when it comes to Transformers, PC politics such as this is kept away. Let's complain about the price of the Tomy against the Hasbro. Or how Hasbro's domestic distribution policies suck or how scalpers are the bane of the hobby.Or TFA artstyle sucks etc. I'm game with that.
Totally agreed. Like I said, it's pretty tiresome when almost every thread about a fembot fig has to be tied to complaints of sexism. Granted, it's still not nearly as bad here as it is at tfw2005. Over there, even when the subject is Strika, people start posting things like, "Now THIS is how a fembot should look like! Twigs and supermodels like Arcee and Chromia are sexist and chauvinistic!" And then come the counter-posts and it all gets turned into a "femnazis vs chauvinist pigs" death match.fenrir72 wrote:Back to Legends, behold TF Yuki's fanwank on Windblade

...kidding, of course. The colors on my pic are really washed out.
I'm putting finis on that other "issue"
Now, concerning Windblade. I also own the domestic release and am quite satisfied for a 1st release. I feel the complaints against the mold is unwarranted..........BUT, the new face paint/deco that follows the art style done by the lady IDW artist Sarah Stone.........awesomesauce! The advantage of Tomy of having a delayed release. They can improve on what maybe a somewhat subdued 1st release product. From the vantage view we can see from these shots, it really accentuates Windblade's face details.

Anyway, the figures are actually looking pretty sweet. I just wish the shipping cost to Canada weren't stupid. But I'm sure I'll be fine with the domestic releases. If they ever get here! XD

I agree. The TT version's face is at least more in keeping with Sarah Stone's depiction of the character.
Funny thing is, I'd spent all that effort sculpting a "bishoujo" face for Windblade on ZBrush (3d modeling software), and it turns out that her head is nigh impossible to remove. It CAN be done, but it involves either prying the 2 parts of her head apart, or replacing the connecting ball joint parts as well.

Ain't her head too small to even try to mod?

Actually, I was planning on sculpting a whole head in a 3D software and 3d printing it to replace the stock one. The face was just the first step.
I'd posted that question about Arcee's head just to make sure I don't make the same mistake again, and end up putting all that effort into modeling a head, only to not be able to use it on the fig. But in Arcee's case, I'll probably buy it anyway, since the head's not bad. Could be better, though.

Fen, it's a Real Gear toy. can't recall his name, but he is a gaming controller that turns into a gorilla. Real silly, but lots of fun.

That's High Score 100, from the Real Gear toyline that Hasbro did for the 2007 movie.

The Real Gear Robots were made to be a line released after Cybertron, but got delayed in their release. Luckily for them, the 2007 Movie 1 line provided an opening for them to get released since the film had cellphones and other small devices get turned into Transformers.fenrir72 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Developed before the movies circa TF: Cybertron, though.fenrir72 wrote:Thanks for the clarification.......so a Bayformer.

This one features, as they put it, fun everyday drama with Tailgate and Groundshaker as they dispose of a bomb, speak of the Planet Micro and defeat Trypticon, all in a day's work.
The comic has been mirrored below for your enjoyment.

If there were ever to be a chapter of the Legends manga, even just a single one, to be translated, it would, without a doubt, HAVE to be this one!
The final panel that shows Micromaster Hot Rodimus with the Matrix, Alpha Trion' ghost, and a bunch of other Micromasters, is definitely of some significant importance to the Headmasters cartoon, implying that it might possibly be canonizing the longstanding fan theory that Rodimus found Planet Micro for the Transformers to live on after Cybertron was destroyed.
But, we cannot know for sure without a proper translation. So please, PLEASE, you masters of Japanese translations, kindly work your skills and magic upon this lone piece of Legends media. You won't regret your service to this fandom, as many will be most greatful for your efforts.
Sincerely,
The eager portion of the fandom that is fascinated with the Japanese TF lore.

It just has the KISSPlayers writer and artist if I'm not mistaken.
As for Rodimus' involvement with Planet Micro........could that be the reason why he shrunked down to Micromaster size during Battlestars?

becomes a new Cybertron.
Maybe Gorlam Prime and Planet Micro will become one in the same. Considering that Rodimus will
get New Legends Figure in the form of Blackjack retool and repaint. I can see the Tomy Takara staff will try to use that as a connection in a future Legends webcomic.

Except that the original Cybertron gets restored to being hospitable again by the time of G-2, with the Autobots and Decepticons living on it again.JasonCanty79 wrote:Also works with how the Beast Warrior TFs are smaller than G1 TF Ancestors. Planet Micro becomes "NEW" Cybertron in Beast era.
Not to mention the Cybertron of the Beast Era containing several things found only on the original Cybertron such as Vector Sigma, the Plasma Energy Chamber, Iacon, etc.
Takara's Legends line seems to be ending with Megatron, as Superion will be part of a new line called Unite Warriors. And with Rodimus's new toy being a retool of Blackjack, it is possible that Takara might ignore releasing it just as they have ignored several other retooled Generations molds lately.JasonCanty79 wrote:Maybe Gorlam Prime and Planet Micro will become one in the same. Hmm I thought the G-2 Cybertron in the Japanese toy comics takes place in the 90's (as they in the IRL time they where released) and thus before the 2005/2010, Headmasters and so on series. And True Cybertron in Beast Era did contain same G1 Locations, but was that also
explained in the Japanese dubs for BW2 and Neo? I didn't see all of the Japanese original BW cartoons, so not sure if the Cybertron in BW Japan era is considered New Cybertron that Rodimus Founded, or a Restored Cybertron (despite being blown up).
Ok I talked to my friend in Japan and he said this from what he recalled: "it was back without explanation in TF-V or TF-Z, so the fans were speculating that rodomus (from manga) did restore the timeline".

Nope. The G-2 pack-in manga and story pages took place some time after 2035.JasonCanty79 wrote:Hmm I thought the G-2 Cybertron in the Japanese toy comics takes place in the 90's (as they in the IRL time they where released) and thus before the 2005/2010, Headmasters and so on series.
Though, the sole chapter of G-2 manga titled "The New Battle!!" did take place in the 90's, but it's a different continuity.

Also, just a pet peeve of mine, but it's not "Beast Wars 2", it's "Beast Wars II" ("Beast Wars Second").
Cybertron didn't appear in Victory or Zone.JasonCanty79 wrote:Ok I talked to my friend in Japan and he said this from what he recalled: "it was back without explanation in TF-V or TF-Z, so the fans were speculating that rodomus (from manga) did restore the timeline".

That dog reminds me of a Zoid? And Windblade seems to be hanging a lugnut goody at it.

The poses with Steeljaw are hilarious. Arcee kicking back is cool (she really is poseable!). Chromia's Joker smile is TERRIFYING. That comic though...Oh, Takara. I swear you're watching this thread and you're just trying to wind us up now.
(Amusingly, the artist for this comic used to do crossdressing yaoi doujins. Which might explain a few things, and raise a whole lot more questions...I fear Arcee may be packing an extra gearstick if you catch my drift...)

Pink bot next to her = a nurse from Energon
Green panties at the top = probably a Paradron Medic
Red and white w/ orange face = Minerva

Smaller pink and blue next to Clipper - Arms Micron Arc

Small orange and gray at the bottom = Micromaster Windy from Operation Combination

Hello-
This is Mark Kutsugi at HobbyLink Japan. Thank you for your order with us for TKT81295 LG10 Arcee.
Unfortunately, we have learned that the manufacturer has only produced a very limited number of this item. Although we placed a large order for this item with our distributors, we will receive a very small number of pieces on or about February 15, and have exhausted our attempts to find any additional sources.
As always, when this item comes out we will fill orders in the order that they were placed. Unfortunately, given the extremely small number of pieces that we will receive, we have determined that there is no chance that we can fill your entire order, so we've had to reduce quantities to a limit of one TKT81295 per customer, regardless of how many were ordered.
We're as disappointed by this news as you are, as we were looking forward to selling many pieces of this item.
Our apologies for this unfortunate development. We look forward to your continued support of HLJ.
Best Regards,
Mark Kutsugi
