Yeah, Grimlock's differences are extremely minor. His dino mode eyebrows and toes are painted black like in the cartoon, whereas the Hasbro toy left both unpainted.william-james88 wrote:The differences for Strongarm were very apparent but I dont see any for Grimlock.

It's actually worth it to save the money and just buy domestic, here in the States. =\

One thing you might not have noticed, if you will look at the beast mode feet, the toe nails are painted black on the takara while left unpainted on the hasbro one. If you did notice, then sorry.

The key difference between the Hasbro and TakaraTomy versions lies in the symbols used for the Apps: Hasbro's use only two colors, while TakaraTomy's have a few more. The Grimlocks shown are both TakaraTomy: you just can't see the black dino toes because they aim backwards in robot mode (the lower arms turn 180).

That's a messed up name, right there.

Wait, why did they change they change the parsing of "Knock Out" to "Knockout"? They left it alone for "Medic Knock Out", so why the change for "Bloody Knockout"?Jones wrote:

Is he a repaint a Beast Hunters version of Knockout? Didn't know there was a BH version. As a big fan of Bluestreak, this paint job is really doing it for me. Might have to scoop this one up.

Those aren't stress marks: they are exposed catches for the soft ratchet joints. I just found out about them when looking at RID 2015 Grimlock in packaging, and having them exposed may have been a bad idea. I've seen multiple reports on the catches detaching or breaking, leaving Grimlock with a limp arm.

Well, he was the Decepticon Medic, and you know how mad doctors can get at times Doesn't stop me from wanting him, I've been waiting for BH retool redecos that don't look like the original figure with new armor parts (looking at you, Ratchet).
With Ultra Magnus on the way later, that only leaves Sharkticon Megatron and Prowl.

Mistake? What counts is that the name in Kana remains the same. Japanese uses no spaces between words in the same sentence, it's a long string of characters and kana, so it's up to the reader himself to discern the words. The only exception is the "forced space", denoted by ".", but it's usually only used for "the" which is a single kana (ザ za).

I fixed two RID 2015 Deluxe Grimlocks by removing the pins in the elbow joint, removing the catch, applying super glue to the bottom of the catch to get the piece to stay attached inside his upper forearm, reassembling the figure, and problem solved! I should get another one to do a preventative repair video.

Take note the translation only goes for the RID 2015 one, not RID Rollbar whose Japanese name is the same, but was never properly romanised.

Is his primary function "Greg Sepelak eater"?
I can't quite tell from pics I've seen, is the art trying to make the Strongarm mold look male for Greejeeber? I had just assumed it was a female take on the character.

Until we get its bio, there's no telling which gender Gregevor is supposed to be. *shrug*Emerje wrote:Sabrblade wrote:"GREGEVOR"

Like the Beast Wars lines before it, Car Robots used no English for the boxes except for the faction names (Cybertron and Destronger), so the names were never given official English translations. Fortunately most were pretty straightforward as they used whole English words in the names, but the more "nonsensical" ones were a little bit harder to effectively translate. The Commandos/Combatrons are especially guilty of that. Here are the names with the most common unofficial translation in bold, plus a few (not always correct) variations:
Mega-Octane: ドルレイラー Dorureirā, Dolrailer, Dual-Railer
Armorhide: ダンガー Dangā, Dangar, Danger (pun on "tanker")
Ro-Tor: ヘプター Heptā, Hepter
Movor: シャトラー Shatorā, Shuttler
Rollbar: グリジバー Gurijibā, Greejeeber, Greenjeeper
Ruination: バルディガス Barudigasu, Baldigus, Vuldigus (probably from "Bruticus")
Not as bad Cohrada/Corahda and Rartorata, which is fortunate.

That Ultra Magnus looks exactly like the RiD Beast Hunters version but with a gold headed hammer.

Also since the Adventure line has some Animated figures in it I'd love to see Animated Blackout get another shot at being in the line but done in movie colours and maybe for fun add more Animated figures in it like a Blitzwing that's done in his original Diaclone colours for example.

It seems for the takara series, Hyperchange Optimus will be their Optimus figure. It,s right there on the same page. That is a larger figure, about the size of a voyager clacc. Any different mold would have to come from Hasbro first as there dont seem to be any takara exclusive molds here.

But that Hyperchange/3-Step Optimus is part of the Easy Dynamic Series rather than the Adventure Series. Its ID number uses "TED" instead of "TAV".william-james88 wrote:kaijuguy19 wrote:I'm curious to know how so far we got the Nemesis Prime repaint of the Warrior Class Optimus Prime figure but not Optimus himself? Takara must have some reason for their not yet showing a "TAV" figure for Optimus. Whether they pull a "Battle Command Optimus Prime" and make their own new mold, or are waiting for something else to come from Hasbro for them to use as a TAV Optimus, I just can't imagine them forgoing putting an Optimus toy in the Adventure Series.
Might not be female after all since its box art isn't like Takara's usual depiction of fembot box art and its face in the art doesn't look much like the toy's face.Madeus Prime wrote:Why do I kind of want Gregevor? Or AKA Female Rollbar/Greejeeber?
We'll have to wait until someone get a hold of the single-packed figure's bio and looks at what the Japanese text says. I say the single-packed figure's bio since the bio for the 2-pack with Grimlock doesn't say much of anything about either character, besides them both being rivals and such.

Steeljaw looks nice, but not nice enough for me to buy a second version of the toy (if I need mine to have eyebrows I will do it myself). The Scoop, Swoop and Snarl repaints are actually pretty awesome. I may get those?

Autobase Aichi's Facebook page currently features a sizeable number of images from the Anime Japan 2015 Expo in which Transformers Adventures seems to have taken center stage in this year's Transformers display. Also of note, QTransformers and Masterpiece Star Saber are both on display as well. (Masterpiece Star Saber is currently shipping from US e-tailers (and Seibertron.com sponsors) BBTS and The Chosen Prime. You can click on either sponsor's name to be taken directly to the ordering page.)
We've mirrored several of the images here, and you can check out the full gallery of images in it's entirety over on the Autobase Aichi Facebook page.

"Snarl" is actually a possibility, as Animated Snarl has been redecoed into Slug for the line.
