I dont get it, Takara has such a smaller market than Hasbro and yet they do all these cool incentives. I really wish we had something like this.

Transformers has a ton of other robot toylines to compete in Japan (primarily Gundam), so part of Takara's doing all these campaign exclusives is to keep up the appeal of the line over there, whereas Hasbro's only real competition in the West is mostly just Power Rangers, but that line's not solely a robot line, so Hasbro doesn't have to push as many campaign exclusives as Takara does.william-james88 wrote:JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Here are are exact venues and conditions:

About the same price is you chose SAS shipping and get the preorders here (when they will show up for the next batch)

I jest, but in all sincerity, Star Saber is an awesome figure. He should be proud of it. I just think he might be a tad overboard with the (self)promotion.

Yeah, Grimlock's differences are extremely minor. His dino mode eyebrows and toes are painted black like in the cartoon, whereas the Hasbro toy left both unpainted.william-james88 wrote:The differences for Strongarm were very apparent but I dont see any for Grimlock.

It's actually worth it to save the money and just buy domestic, here in the States. =\

One thing you might not have noticed, if you will look at the beast mode feet, the toe nails are painted black on the takara while left unpainted on the hasbro one. If you did notice, then sorry.

The key difference between the Hasbro and TakaraTomy versions lies in the symbols used for the Apps: Hasbro's use only two colors, while TakaraTomy's have a few more. The Grimlocks shown are both TakaraTomy: you just can't see the black dino toes because they aim backwards in robot mode (the lower arms turn 180).

That's a messed up name, right there.
Posted by Sabrblade on March 19th, 2015 @ 9:47am CDT
Wait, why did they change they change the parsing of "Knock Out" to "Knockout"? They left it alone for "Medic Knock Out", so why the change for "Bloody Knockout"?Jones wrote:

Is he a repaint a Beast Hunters version of Knockout? Didn't know there was a BH version. As a big fan of Bluestreak, this paint job is really doing it for me. Might have to scoop this one up.

Those aren't stress marks: they are exposed catches for the soft ratchet joints. I just found out about them when looking at RID 2015 Grimlock in packaging, and having them exposed may have been a bad idea. I've seen multiple reports on the catches detaching or breaking, leaving Grimlock with a limp arm.

Well, he was the Decepticon Medic, and you know how mad doctors can get at times Doesn't stop me from wanting him, I've been waiting for BH retool redecos that don't look like the original figure with new armor parts (looking at you, Ratchet).
With Ultra Magnus on the way later, that only leaves Sharkticon Megatron and Prowl.

Mistake? What counts is that the name in Kana remains the same. Japanese uses no spaces between words in the same sentence, it's a long string of characters and kana, so it's up to the reader himself to discern the words. The only exception is the "forced space", denoted by ".", but it's usually only used for "the" which is a single kana (ザ za).

I fixed two RID 2015 Deluxe Grimlocks by removing the pins in the elbow joint, removing the catch, applying super glue to the bottom of the catch to get the piece to stay attached inside his upper forearm, reassembling the figure, and problem solved! I should get another one to do a preventative repair video.

"GREGEVOR"

Take note the translation only goes for the RID 2015 one, not RID Rollbar whose Japanese name is the same, but was never properly romanised.

I can't quite tell from pics I've seen, is the art trying to make the Strongarm mold look male for Greejeeber? I had just assumed it was a female take on the character.
