But this is a case of Hasbro being way too slavish to the toy, and Takara's just turns out infinitely better.

The weird thing is that this is, for the most part, the opposite of hhow CW/UW broke down.
Me too. I'll be satisfied to get this design as Brainstorm.Nemesis Maximo wrote:The only reason I wont be getting Takara's Blurr is because I have the GenerTions version. Unless anew version is vastly superior to a previous version (Thrilling 30 Jetfire vs Classics), I don't upgrade. And I love the drift redeco version of Blurr.

Yeah this one's a must-buy for me.
EDIT: even the Autobot insignia looks to be in a better place being under the canopy rather than on it so you don't have it upside down in vehicle mode.

I can while takara is certainly nice I don't mind hasbro one bit, this is partly down to me not caring about g1 toon colours at all. All I care about is the toy

I know, this is freaken insane. While I was totally ok getting tha Hasbro version, I just feel I am getting so much more out of this. This is clearly somethign I can treasure for the years to come while I find headless hasbro versions at thrift stores.

I agree and hence why I will probably get this. Even if that shipping cost aint cheap, I wont care in the years to come as I marvel at it.

Wait what? Availability? How? Look at the combiner wars thread, every 5 pages or so its just a comparison of what some states and countries get and what others dont. Ask any canadian about Hasbro's Gen Arcee or anyone in England about Wave 3 of Combiner Wars. There is absolutely no logic as to what you will get and when and where from hasbro. Takara has a standard street release date and you can always be sure to get them if you preorder them.
Also that price statement is wrong too. You are getting an extra vehicle with Takara's and it's price is actually 22$ US http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail ... agecnt%3D1
That is the legit price you would find him at retail in Japan. Hasbro's at retail (if you find him ) would be 17.99$ + 4.99$ for that vehicle and titanmaster. So 22.98$ USD. Meaning that looking at the price, the Hasbro version would be 1$ more and give you an extra titanmaster. And of course, you dont get any of that awesome paint.
So the Hasbro one loses on all accounts objectively, and being as global and general as possible.

I'm not importing and paying a shipping cost on a piece of plastic I don't need when I can swing by a store I live near and get something I Personally feel is just as good. So yeah, in my world they don't lose.

All the have to do is change the face. That's what's they're doing with the headmasters that are coming with Hardhead and Skullcruncher for takaras release. I'm just wondering is they'll do that for TT Chromedome or they will keep him looking like the generations. I imagine they may since they're really wanting these guys to look the way they did in the cartoon.

No, you have to buy a separate figure for them. Case in point, Skullcruncher comes with Crashbash, but shockwave comes with the specialized headmaster that forms the lower jaw for crashbash's dino mode.

They are clever with this, if you want the Dino to have a lower jaw you'll just have to get shockwave = more sales for takara!

Blurr and scourge do not come with the extra vehicle only hard head and skull cruncher do so you are definitely paying more for Takara than Hasbro this time.

Blurr and Scourge do not come with extra vehicles it seems, and it's reflected in the base price:
LG22 Skull: 4,320 Yen
LG25 Blurr: 3,456 Yen

Thanks for correcting me man So yes, Hasbro definitely wins with price, no question.
This is what confused me by the way, here is the item description from amiami:
-Vehicle x1
-Headmaster x1
-Weapon x1
-Instruction paper x1
The vehicle turns out to be the vehicle mode of the headless robot. I guess they seperated it since they wantd to list the headmaster seperately and didnt want to write just "body". But it did confuse me and now I feel a bit dumb. So knowing this now, is this still worth it

That is a very misleading listing. I still don't know which way I'll go with this one. The Hasbro one isn't bad and will be cheaper and easier to get, but the Takara one looks so much better.

Thanks for understanding. So yeah, we are both struggling. I just dont want to regret later when takara's Blurr will be like 60$ on e-bay later.
I think I will go for Takara but only because since he is out in august I can combine my shipping from Japan with Computron. Its kind of like a sign that they happen to come out the same month, or at least that is the way I am seeing it

Everytime I try to shop online the shipping is so expensive.
BBTS shipping to Australia is like $75.

That toy is pretty good but I did always have a problem with the back being a giant hole with his head.

Blurr and Scourge don't come with extra vehicles, so they also come with a reduced price. Check for yourself. Willy-J's point still holds. Willy, stand up for yourself more. Don't be bamboozled by flawed logic!

How is it flawed logic? Right now they're available on hlj for $23.69 before shipping which at cheapest will be about $7. That's $30 total for the same figure you can get locally for $17-20

Takara can set whatever price they want for it but unless you live in Japan that's not what you're paying. So it's entirely fair to say that Takara products cost more, they may not domestically retail for more money but they cost more to the rest of us.
That's kind of a "well duh," though. If that was the only point you were trying to make, why say it? We all know we pay more for Japanese products outside of Japan. For some of us, that's worth it, if it means the product is superior (whether objectively or just subjectively) to what is more readily available domestically. Willy-J was making a statement about the value of what Takara puts on their product versus what Hasbro does, which is to say they are priced about the same for their respective markets.

I'm not saying that it is or isn't worth it I was saying that he doesn't come with an extra vehicle and now because of the exchange rate it is more money than it was before. There was literally no reason for you to argue with me about something I'm right in saying. Even ignoring shipping costs Takara Blurr will still cost more money than Hasbro, simple as that.
