And his guns remain clear and unpaintable for this release too. Huh. This trend of softer plastic is really starting to concern me. Rhinox's butt was one thing, but it's starting to creep into places it needn't be.

I'm not interested in either Rattrap or Primal (Got the TRU one a long time back with the accurate head and I'm happy with it). I am very interested to see where this goes from here.
Posted by UltraPrimal on June 8th, 2014 @ 1:10pm CDT
Unfortunately I don't see myself picking up either of these. The Rattrap, though more robot accurate, I think I prefer the Hasbro beast mode accurate one. And the Optimus is basically just a repaint of the 10th Anniversary remold of the original, which I already own both versions of. Would have preferred a new mold.
But I really hope they continue this trend and do more Beasties.

Rattrap's black rat eyes turned red whenever he was in robot mode:Bumblevivisector wrote:Not sure where the red beast eyes are coming from (Call of the Wild? Just matching bot mode?),
This one is in scale with Rattrap, since that Rattrap is a BIG Deluxe.Rated X wrote:I want an primal but one thats in scale with the others, voyager please.
The previous Japanese Deluxe Primal toy is already in scale with the others.
What we need is a taller Dinobot.

Now if they wanted to make a bigger Transmetal Primal I wouldn't have a problem with that.

He's talking about the special "# of 30" releases, you can find the current list in this thread.

Im good with the size of deluxe dinobot. How many times did he fide on ratraps back ? He really doesnt need to be that big. A raptor is not a huge dino.
Posted by Sabrblade on June 8th, 2014 @ 8:39pm CDT
Rattrap got bigger as a Transmetal. Or at least bulkier, since all that extra bulk made him easier for Dinobot to ride (who was still rather hunched over and cramped whenever he rode the still smaller-than-him Rattrap).Rated X wrote:Sabrblade wrote:The one in the pics I posted is colored show-accurate.Whitemest wrote:No, what we need is a COLOR ACCURATE version of dinobot. all i ever see is dinobot with the purple in bot mode, its frusterates me to no end Show accurate colors please!

Granted, there's still 9 left to be revealed, and there's only 6 movie figures, and there's only a couple repeats, I'm still pretty underwhelmed when this is what we were promised:
Of that teaser, all we've gotten is Whirl, Shrapnel, Laserbeak, and Rumble. Maybe Barricade if you count the TFCC version. And though most of the characters on this page I don't care about, I really would have wanted a new Greatshot/Sixshot figure. Defensor and Sky Lynx would have been cool too.

That's not a toy teaser. That's a teaser for the Transformers: The Ultimate Pop-Up Universe book. All that artwork was gathered together and put into that pop-up book.UltraPrimal wrote:I'm still pretty underwhelmed when this is what we were promised:

A Transformers: Legends web comic by Hayato Sakamoto.
It appears to be an office comedy starring the Beast Wars cast as "TF Toy Otaku" (TF toy fans). They're all wearing business neckties and love TF toys/merchandise from all of the past 30 years. So there are a LOT of Easter eggs to be found in the toys that they have.
Posted by Jelze Bunnycat on June 9th, 2014 @ 4:03pm CDT
A few things to note:
- "Axalon" is mentioned, don't know if it's the company name.
- It seems the Beast Wars characters have kept their Japanese vocal tics, with Rhinox' -dana, Cheetor's -nyan and Silverbolt's -desu.
- We should keep an eye on what aspect of Transformers fandom each character represents. Primal seems to be the "G1-purist" of rejecting the new, Rattrap is the young enthusiast and Rhinox... well, the modern collector who uses the current, American, terms.
- Rhinox has a mustache!

As for why, Takara likely didn't have theirs ready and so used Hasbro's as a placeholder preview for what is to come of their figure.

It happens, usually when they don't have their deco redy, and the usual reaction is "FAIL, I DON'T NEED THAT, IT LOOKS JUST LIKE THE CHEAPER HASBRO VERSION!", which in turn is usually followed by "F**K" whent he figure is released and it turns out the deco is different.
This line is interessting. It does seem to be the new Tak Generations line, and I like how it seems to be very BW centric.

And as I predicted, each character represents a different aspect. Tigatron's is possibly the most off from the original, being really into the ladies (even referencing TM2 Blackarachnia bra!), and Airazor, well... at least they kept her US gender

Would you or another fan be willing to translate these comics for the non-Japanese speaking audience? They look hilarious.

As you recall, Roadbuster and Whirl made up the Deluxe Vehicles. There was actually a third, tank-like robot in the line they originated from, Special Armored Batallion Dorvack, which was called "Bonaparte Tulcas", the blue and gray tank you see to the far right. It was presumably not included into Generation One due to it not having a convincing robot mode. (more can be read here)
I was saying that Takara were comprised of mad geniuses because they're releasing their version of Tankor, whose deco and physique (tank-treaded feet, chicken legs, claw hand(s), and general bulkiness) coincidentally somewhat matches up to the Bonaparte Tulcas, thus making up the third never-to-be Deluxe Vehicle that someone could totally repurpose as so.
TLDR version: Takara is being sneaky and cheeky by releasing a blue and gray tank character in a wave that is comprised of modern reimaginings of the 1985 Deluxe Vehicles, whose ranks were ripped from another transforming robot toyline that had a third, blue and gray tank character that was never released as a Deluxe Vehicle in the original Generation One run for one reason or another.
