Well, that came out of nowhere! Sideswipe is one of my favorite movie verse guys, but I just can't justify this unfortunately

At least it seems to have the metallic paint the original desperately needed, plus a better weapon.

But not nearly as good as Darksteel

Both Darksteel (aka Talon ) and Sidearm Sideswipe look way better then what Takara is spinning off here. Way too little way to late it seems.

Now that's a surprise. I'm already happy with my regular DotM Sideswipe (but could never find Darksteel...), so I have no immediate need for him. I will say that release fixes a sore point of the original.

The Legion version was a wayyyy better figure.

Does shiny Sideswipe have any sort of wave mate or is he all on his lonesome like ?

I like the deco but I still prefer Sidearm Sideswipe - I actually rather like the G2 like the Blue Sidearm Sideswipe that is covered in sponsor logos too. The FAB repaint is quite a nice colour too.

I was always a little disappointed in the Human Alliance - I think the gimmick harmed the toy more than most on that one.

With all this propensity for Retooling I kinda wish they'd do that to Voyager Ratchet he's not terrible but a few tweaks would help him a fair bit - even changes to the arms and weapons or a new head sculpt would be a start.

I guess it won't be to many months before the hype machine for the next Live action Movie and indeed the new animated movie begins again.

I hope they learned so lessons with AOE - such as early Power battlers were less popular than FAB was when taken as a whole - when judged by how many they made compared to how many they had left.

I you know, I actually tried to give Darksteel those guns once, it didnt work, the peg is too short for Vehicle Mode, the springs push it out. And bot mode he had trouble holding onto them with the open hands. Oh well.

Ah, ok. Maybe shipping from RK won't be too bad for a smaller item like this. I do like the silver finish over the gray plastic on the DOTM one.

Like the shiny silver. Makes it look far better than the Hasbro version but I skipped that one because Sidearm Sideswipe was just overall much better.

I just realized this looks like the deco for the Takara version we were first shown years ago.

Just wondered as sometimes exclusives ship in pairs. (even 2 products of different sizes) - I just thought I'd ask in case there was some random Voyager I didn't know about too.

AoE Slog, Hound and Galvatron FINALLY arrived in my local Entertainer in sleepy Horsham...long after I'd lost interest in AoE toys. Great job, Hasbro UK.

Have any of you heard of 2019 film The Fanatic, a film starring John Travolta and directed by Limp Bizkit? While Travolta aimed for a Rain Man type performance, it was more of an embarrassment for everyone involved and has a 16% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which is a little better than the rating for The Last Knight (15%) but worse than the rating for Age of Extinction (18%). I bring these three films up because they have something in common: Bayverse Grimlock.

In a scene where John Travolta is hiding in his idol's house, under the child's bed, he sees an Age of Extinction Grimlock toy on the floor (looks like Flip and Change Grimlock), reaches out and brings it close to him. Why Limp Bizkit felt the need to put such a spotlight on this specific toy is unclear, as it does not come back in the film.

By all means this is not an endorsement for the film, and I do not recommend anyone to watch it. All you need are the screenshots below. Enjoy.

Age of Extinction toys are pretty cool.The gimmicks are simple,but they really add to the playability of these figures.

Do you know why I prefer this website over all the other ones? Because unlike most of the other sites, people here generally maintain positive attitudes, treat each other civilly and aren't rude. Very seldom does a thread breakdown into insults and whining.

This was a great article Will, I did not know about this guest star appearance from our orange Dinosaur, it's always neat seeing things you recognize in movies regardless of the quality of the actual movie/show.
