TF Fan Justin got a fun surprise at Walmart the other day. While they had preordered the upcoming Transformers Studio Series 86 Scourge with a release date of November 2021, they found that very figure at their local Walmart in Alma for $26. Wreck gar is the other voyager in this wave. The sweep being out lets us finally compare them with Scourge in the same light showing that they are indeed different shades of blue.

The sighting was posted on Facebook.

I think I might actually use Sweep as Scourge. I like the brighter toy blue. The paler blue kind of makes it look like a copy or a clone of the original (which is what Sweeps are).

They've made FINDING either of these figures more trouble than it's worth in many ways...

That's why Hasbro has made it extra easy to preorder the Sweep. That's all that they can control on their end.

I wasn't gonna get the Sweep unless I saw it in stores, because I figured it was the exact same as Scourge just with the hand switched, but now I might have to order it online. And I also like the brighter blue better.

It is odd because when Hotrod & Scourge first started showing up in stores, I only saw Scourge maybe 2 or 3 times (and it was only ever 1 of him), Whereas I saw Hotrod on a regular basis. I don't want to say he was a shelf warmer, but he was always around. Still, I guess with the slowness of product restocking, even all those Hotrods are gone now. Generations Voyagers (Kingdom or SS), only come about once case every few weeks, and they sell quickly.

Voyagers are going to be a problem for a while since Hasbro is making them 3 to a case meaning someone is always shortpacked. The problem with Scourge is that he was shortpacked 1 for every 2 Hot Rods. Then Hot Rod was shortpacked with Bee movie Screamer in the next wave. That's why you saw him around for a while.

The Sweeps?

Pah!

Worthless release not even coming with a broom accessory. [-(

I knew about the 2:1 ratio, but I think it's the slowness of the product coming to stores which is the bigger issue, I guess that's why ordering from Pulse is at least a guarantee.

So, who does The Sweep come packed with? I think the last new SS Voyager I saw in store was Starscream (and only once). Haven't seen BB "Thrust" or Wreck-Gar yet.

And also people were buying duplicate Scourges to use as Sweeps, since we didn't know about this release yet.

Yeah, they kind of mitigated things by making Wreck-Gar shortpacked, but in back to back waves, so you essentially get even distribution of BB Thrust, Wreck Gar and Sweep over 2 waves.

Makes sense, that's what they did in Kingdom, bringing back Cyclonus who was initially sort packed in wave 1, into wave 3 with Rhinox. I'm hoping Inferno will be offered again when Tigatron eventually comes out.

Kinda hoping SS gets a gaming greats line similar to star wars figures, it would be a nice way of getting some newer versions of the baynus game only figures, cell shaded Devy which would probably fit with ss86 stuff, FOC stuff (eeeww) and a 8bit style Ultra Magnus & Rodimus colored Magnus from mystery of Convoy :)

I got Slag today, he looks good in both modes, but I'd say the dinosaur mode is my favourite of the two. The transformation is a lot more complicated than Grimlock's, to the point where I was caught off guard a few times, but he's a chonky lil boi with a good amount of weight to him, he doesn't feel brittle or flimsy at all, and looks good next to Grimlock. The less said about Daniel the better.

In the UK, some people might imagine this when they hear of "the Sweeps":

Every time Unicron says "And these shall be your minions, the Sweeps", I imagine them all making that annoying sound effect, and requiring Scourge to translate for them to Galvatron, just like Matthew Corbett.

Anyway, I thought this new version came with a different face? It's a bit silly not to.

Well, I got Gnaw and man is it small. Like, I really didn't expect it to be THAT small. Most of the box is the plastic tray. If the back panel came attached there would be even MORE empty plastic space.

Sorry if this is old news by now, but I saw photos that showed Sweep being a lighter variation of blue than Scourge. I wish he wasn’t such an electric blue color… Either more desaturated, or a shade of Scourge’s blue would’ve been better imo… But I am happy they’re not exactly the same.

I think comparing it to PotP Brawn or Beachcomber would be close enough. If I remember correctly they were around the same height (as were most other Legends at the time)

I don't keep figures on display so I don't have anything from POTP handy. I do have the Cyberverse version of Gnaw handy though. That figure is fun.

Saw Wreckgar instore today. The size of him has convinced me to pick him up at some point (when he's not £32) the forearms and bike mode look a bit iffy but the robot mode looks great. Also one of them on the shelve had some really bad paint on its right elbow.
I think i'd be tempted to pick up Gnaw though displaying the TR one has it came in packaging with it's legs folded to give it the appearance of being a bigger figure wont be that far off the height of ss86 Gnaw,

Got my 3x Gnaws in the mail today. They'll make a nice part of my ever growing Sharkticon army.

I like him better than the TR mold, but maybe not as much as the 3P ones I have. I never got the Cyberverse one. It just looked awful to me.

So I got super lucky and found 2 Gnaws for $5 a piece (also has the rest of the wave, but that is for another thread). Does anyone else have problems with the extra fin not staying on the back? the piece is really loose and always falls out on both. As for the rest of the figure, it is decent but I wish they hid the head better in beast mode.

I just got Wreck gar and he looks really impressive. His size and bulk is very much voyager. I love how the front of the motorcycle is almost completely hidden aside from some of the windshield, helping the illusion that his robot mode head morphs into the front of the bike and it's super cool that this illusion is brought to life with the robot head fitting into the alt mode front. I also really love how the wheels plug into the robot mode with those spikes peeking out.

My only issue (aside from the alt mode not being that great in the back half, but that's an issue i have with the wreck gar design in general) is that the back wheel has obstacles stopping it from spinning freely. Did I mess up, does your back wheel move freely?

For the back wheel, you messed up a bit. You just need to fold that bar the right way and the rear wheel would spin freely.

BTW, I plan to get the old Generations Deluxe Junkheap so that he can ride on Wreck Garr in bike mode. 8-)

If you have SS86 Hot Rod, give him a ride on the bike, you'll be amazed. I think they specifically designed the 2 together. Hot Rod has perfect articulation to be able to sit in a riding pose and the opening hands allow you to hold the handlebars without the 5mm portion of the hands having to be lined up perfectly. Wreck Gar has just enough room for Hot Rod's feet.

Deluxe seems to be the perfect size for a rider. I suspect a voyager might be just a little too big to ride without looking like a fat guy riding a mini-bike

They're Junkions, I would think fat guy on a mini bike would be right up their alley?

After seeing a sumo on a cycle, animated Bulkhead wouldn't look out of place on one.

You're giving me the mental image of Bulkhead riding Prowl.

Well, if the newly reported store inventory listings going around for the 2022 Generations lines can be believed, we may be getting a Deluxe Class '86 Arcee next year. I wonder if this will be a retool of the Earthrise/Kingdom Arcee release, or even a brand new mold, given that I think Hasbro knows they blew it with their latest Arcee Generations figure. I hope it's not just a premium paint job for the same exact figure. You can't just put lipstick on that pig, Hasbro.

Leakers are saying it's exactly that.

I now have to believe that the pandemic and lack of product in stores took away Arcee's chance of being the top shelfwarmer of all time. She could have been the one 3 years running if there was enough product to shelfwarm.

I thought the Arcees were for the Bumblebee movie and Prime, I didn't think we were getting an SS86 or G1-style figure.
