Stock Photos for Upcoming Walmart Exclusive G2 Sideswipe, Mirage, Laser Cycle and More

Not feeling the lazer cycle, I'd rather have a black version to complete the duo.

I'll try picking sideswipe up even though it has mismatched panels again but might wait for sales. Same with mirage as he needs decals.

But that's the point. These specific auctions are for a pre-orders that won't ship for a couple of months, so they won't be *first* to get them. The toy reviewers that do that know where to go, and it isn't eBay. These auctions will ship around the same time as the items normal release.

I read some of the sellers negative feedback, from customers who didn't read all the details, thinking these items were shipping right away, when they aren't.

With that Laser Cycle that means we're getting two versions of Jazz in one wave and that is interesting. Just a bunch of crazy color characters and I'm very down for getting them.

Man, I am so down for these!

Laser cycle AKA Lady Jazz looks really good, and may be my favorite of the bunch. I just love her colors! They made her look really nice! Now we need a Road Pig retool from another cycle so we can get Soundwave.

Sideswipe has such obnoxious colors, and I love it. Why they used the Red Alert head, I don't know, but those colors RULE!

Mirage continues to look wonderful, I love the watermelon colors!

Dead End looks good, super glad I decided to go purely for G2 Stunticons!

All in all, this subline is tickling my fancy so hard. I love G2, and it's great to see more stuff like this happening.

There is another reason to pay those high prices, these are walmart exclusives, their track record is dogshit and there are some places in the world that never got the previous ones. So preordering this guarantees you don't have to hunt for it in vain, or simply get it at all.

People have been burnt too many times by exclusives and these e-bay sellers take advantage of that.

I'm hoping to just find them! I wanted toxitron but never saw him or a website that had him in stock. Walmart failed the velocotron wave 2. So I'm crossing my fingers for these guys - minus bike. I know arcee had waist issues and no recolor or remold fixed it yet.

"Laser Cycle"? You have got to be kidding me! First you use a mold that has already failed! Then you give it a name no one could possibly like!

They used the right head on the back of the box, too. I guess it's another case of them using the wrong alternate head on a mold.

Also something I've noticed about him and Mirage. On the original 90s prototypes both of them had their heads all done in one color. For new Mirage they painted his face silver and the art on the box has him with a silver face, but with Sideswipe they kept his head all one color (with white eyes) like the original prototype, but the art on the box has his face painted silver(?) and only his eyes are blue. Looks like they were going to paint his face as well so I wonder why they only did Mirage? Also weird that they decided to do two tones of blue. And his head looks like it's painted blue, it doesn't look like colored plastic, looks too glossy and the details are too soft, but it should already be part of one of the blue sprues so that's very confusing.

I think the Powers should have kept the color of Sideswipe's tires black and the image off the hood and on the doors only....'nuff said!!!

This Sunset scheme on Sideswipe is pretty cool. I might get it to bolster the troops. I would prefer a sale though. I like the Laser Cycle colors but the name doesn’t roll off the tongue. Watermelon Mirage is growing on me but… eh. Dead End looks great. Let me give him a new name and the Stunticon army shall grow again!

I just hope that wave will not go the Cosmos/Shadowstrip/Crasher route and be just a blip on the sites and in stores, thus making them scalper fodder once again.

Maybe it's painted a slightly different shade of the blue, like the 3 different colors on Jazz's head, and it just isn't photographing right like what we just saw with the Buzzworthy Seeker?

The image on the back of the box is the CAD, but between that and the art on the side of the box they definitely used the wrong head in the figure stock photo. The question is if they'll actually fix that on the final figure or if it's already locked in like when they screwed up T-Wrecks.

I wondered about that, but I also wondered if anyone would care if the head was the darker blue instead of the lighter blue.

Apparently as of yesterday the Deluxe wave is out in Canada, seems like Dead End and Sideswipe are the shortpacked ones based off Robot Kingdom's case breakdown and in-store availability:
And on top of that, a TFW user bruteslayer101 found G2 Grimlock in Florida, looks like the IDW head on the box art was not indicative of the actual figure:
So I guess the hunt is on for those looking for these?

The box art head for Grimlock was cool but it's not the end of the world for me that it's the same head

But having the stripes only on the legs is super lame. With some better paint I wouldve wanted this guy

Also, I am sad that Grimlock doesn't have the IDW head, and more sad that the tiger stripes are limited to the legs.

If they get around to releasing the rest. G2 Breakdown is not considered "unreleased" in a sense, and Motormaster's size class... Selects maybe?

We'll see. PotP Orthia was released via a mix of 3 standard retail, 1 Amazon Exclusive, and 1 Pulse Selects. That was some fun dot-connecting .

So far we just have 2 G2 Stunticons both being Walmart Exclusives. If they keep releasing more, I'll get them, but if they dont release them all, I wont be disappointed. Just alternate limbs for my Legacy Menasor for now.

Hot off the sighting of Toxitron Collection G2 Deluxe figures at a Canadian Walmart we also have our first sighting of a Leader G2 Grimlock at a Walmart in Florida by a TFW member. Thanks to Nemesis Primal for letting us know as well as photos from both sets of sightings.

I always struggled to appreciate G2 colors back in the day, but some of these toys manage to look even worse than the original ones IMHO.

There are lots of lookalike characters that could benefit by the release of a modern toy (well, maybe it's not Grimlock's specific case, but bear with me), why waste time and resources on these?

Almost all of these are decos that never got released during G2. Hasbro believed that we want these unreleased decos and it gives Walmart "leading name" characters like Jazz, Mirage, and Grimlock that they can market because their marketing people still support that th[facebook][/facebook]at is important to the casual tf buyer.

Rumor is that Dead End and Sideswipe are shortpacked. So yet again the Combiner dude is gonna be hard as he'll to find

I just got an email from Hasbro Pulse saying my preorder for Toxitron Collection Cloudcover will ship soon.

Well that didn't take long. After the Toxitron Leader Class G2 Grimlock was found at U.S. retail, we now have a confirmed sighting of the Deluxe Class figures from the same line! Mirage, Sideswipe, Laser Cycle, Dead End and Jazz (in their unreleased G2 decos) were all found at a Walmart in Salt Lake City, Utah, by yours truly. After picking up Jazz, Mirage, and Dead End, it looks like the rumors of Dead End and Sideswipe being shortpacked are true. There were 2 each of Jazz, Mirage, and Laser Cycle, and one each of Sideswipe and Dead End, making any potential G2 Menasor harder to complete.



This sighting leaves only Toxitron himself, and Voyager Cloudcover as the remaining figures in this line not yet sighted in the U.S.

I MUST have that Grimlock, though I wish they had more of those metallic tiger strips going up his back. If I can mix that colour myself, I may just add them personally.

I can't find it now, but late last night i saw that the rest of the wave will be revealed at SDCC and put up on Pulse/Walmart for direct order.

3) I know that. I was just getting my hopes up that with all the weird and wacky of G2 coming out, for some reason. That Spreem might end up among them.

Wacky pastel colors go back as far as 1988 when a whole bunch of Easter-colored pink/purple/teal Decepticons were released that year.

And G2 never had any Action Masters.

I found 3 Voyager G2 Cloudcovers at my local Walmart today. So he is out there in the US as well.

There has been of news concerning the Walmart Exclusive G2 Themed Line. The deluxes, leader (Grimlock) and voyagers were found in the US all of a sudden. For those wanting all the info you can on these toys and their special decos, we have in hand images below. We also have video reviews comparing them to previous decos/molds along with a look at the box art.
The rest of the wave should be up for pre-order shortly. Please be aware that Sideswipe and Dead End are shortpacked while the others come 2 per case.

I just realized, Mirage's colors make him kinda look like he's wearing Constructicon colors.

Ah, so we have a weapon for Buzzworthy Hound in a redecorate before we even have Buzzy Hound.

These decos are so terrible they are intriguing, but I am only really interested in Dead End
Maybe “Sunset” Sideswipe or Laser Cycle if on sale.

Baffles me why Walmart thought Lasercycle was worthy of being 2 per case over a popular character like Sideswipe and a Combiner member. Not surprising mind you, not after the stuff they did in Velocitron, but still baffling.

I have my Toxitron preordered, but Sideswipe have yet to appear on the site. That's the only other one that I want.
