We have something really cool to share with you today. JTPrime 17 has uploaded images of the Rise of Tyranny 2 pack which includes Miner Megatron and Senator Ratbat. Both are redecos and retools with Megatron being a retool of the Siege Megatron toy and Ratbat being a retool of Studio Series Scourge. These are rumoured to be part of this year's set of Amazon Exclusives. The box itself is reminiscent of the Wreckers 2 packs we got last year. This may also be available at an upcoming convention. We will let you know all the details as we learn more.
In the meantime let us know if you like this set.

However, the Cybertron Sideways-made Ratbat was meant to be not the Senator Ratbat from IDW, but rather the Ultracon Ratbat from Dreamwave's "War Within Series", as stated on the toy's packaging.Jelze Bunnycat wrote:The design team is really doing their homework, even if they may set a questionable trend; Senator Ratbat being made of Scourge. This set is based on IDW's Megatron Origin series. It's another two-pack based on previous fictions that had a prewar setting, like the two War Dawn sets were.Perceptor1996 wrote:I wonder is this is almost a sign that senator Ratbat could be in Transformers One. Toy development does not happen that quick and we know that they have been interesting in putting Beast Wars characters in the movies sense "The Last Knight" and "Rise of the Beast" was pushed back multiple times because both the pandemic and the need for more production time. The point of Kingdom was to bring the Beasts back into peoples memories and to be sure that Hasbro had all those name trademarks again. So it's a safe assumption that all these prewar two packs regardless of being based on G1, IDW or the Highmoon games are a form of brand synergy to get people in the mind set of prewar Transformers to build hype for "Transformers One".

HYPE!
Oh, also pointing out that at 60$US, that's TWO VOYAGER we're getting. Voyagers are now usually 34$ US. So the set is 8$US cheaper than 2 voyagers at normal price. So that's a deal!
I wonder what the Canadian price will be?

Ratbat I'd normally be a sucker for because I never got the deluxe senator Ratbat from before. Not sure if I like this one yet, will need to see more pictures
This is still a cool set though, happy to see idw stuff get more love

This is obviously part of a greater set of figures as Will alluded to in the article, it appears to be a debate stage of some sort with Ratbat facing off against somebody that would be on the opposite box. I'm thinking IDW Orion Pax in the bottom corner.
But who would be in the top? I know what Senator I want it to be.
Senator Shockwave! Maybe as either a retooled Siege Seeker or LE Metalhawk? The latter they could have already worked some parts into since it's a new retool itself. But a Seeker wouldn't need much retooling and the guns can be replaced with wings on the arms.

Regardless of whether is meant to tie in to Transformers One, I am glad they are still doing designs from the original IDW series. There's still hope for more MTMTE characters!

Seems to me they are making moves to let there be no definitive 'origin' to the war. We got and will get G1 cartoon versions, and now IDW versions, with more on the way.
I kind of like it.

This is only the 4th use of the Scourge mold. This will be the tenth use of the Megatron mold, whether Earth tank or Cybertronian.

Shockwave: I'm gonna go with a slightly-tweaked Metalhawk, since it's got a good amount of kibble already in the right places, it would be easy to retool/replace the chest, and the number of transformation steps is already close.Sabrblade wrote:So, who wants to guess what molds this Shockwave and Orion will be made out of? Orion: ...uhhh...it depends on which design, probably...and it's not like the inclusion of the axe can be used as a clue, since Megs got completely new accessories....I'm gonna say heavy retool of Siege Hound? Again, the number of transformation steps is already really close, and "Cybertronian jeep" is already basically a "Cybertronian ATV"....unless it's the IDW Orion design with the windshield chest, then I've got nothing.

Same goes for Miner Megatron, I don't read comics, I'm a cartoon/movie guy.
I already have the Siege mold and the Earthrise version of him, I don't need another. It's a good/decent toy.

I'm sticking with my guess of either Metal Hawk or a Siege Seeker retool. For Prime probably the Siege mold since I think it gives them more freedom to mess around with the truck mode. I can't see them going Deluxe, but maybe Hound could be used for Roller if there's a bottom half of the set featuring some Dekuxe figures.
Watch them do Impactor again.

Hound would be a very short Roller.
As for Pax, he's not IDW at all. He's Dreamwave - he was never a data clerk in IDW v.1. As guess, I'll say Ironhide mold retooled.
For Shockwave, I can't see anything any better than Metalhawk...

Actually it takes Hasbro 2 years to go from concept to store shelves. So Kingdom was designed in 2019 when Siege was hotting shelves. Though talk was that the original plans for kingdom were changed to accommodate the inclusion of the Beasts meaning some toys had to shift lines...enter Studio Series 86 which became their new home.
Toys were seeing here were designed back in 2021, so it's probably safer to assume that any synergy is probably serendipity rather than intent.
Anyway...
I'm liking the looks of Senator Ratbat and Miner Megs. The Siege mold might be done to death but that rendition if the character would be worth it.
As for Shockwave and Orion, will be interesting to see what molds they use, and which colour scheme they'll pin on Shocky. Also, how many people do you think will complain if he’s not purple

Prime is said to be deluxe in the listing, so maybe just Kup again. Though the mold that would suit the IDW version best I think would be the new armada cab figure.
Shockwave would be metalhawk, pretty sure.

Well that's dumb, it should be the same Prime that was friends with Shockwave who was basically G1 Prime with some Cybertronian kibble in bot mode. We just got TWO deluxe Orion Pax figures in the past few years, time for a proper Voyager IDW version. The DW version was his War Within body, which would be a nice figure to have, but I don't see them making one. Wouldn't surprise me if they just reused the Pulse Orion Pax mold (from SS86 Kup) and gave it a new head.
Hopefully the listing is wrong as a lot of previous Amazon leaks have been such as the Golden Disk listings.

The War Within and IDW pre-war, Shockwave Senator era Orion Pax designs are pretty much identical. Maybe you're thinking about the design used for the Thrilling 30s toy, which is essentially a one-off design from his Spotlight issue.

Shockwave is a retooled Siege Seeker (called it!). They said they'd fight for a color variant if people ask for it, possibly as a Selects.
Spacebridge teasers (all art of course): Core Snarl, Deluxe Bombshell, Strongarm, Detritus (shows the original box art, no mention of Evo-Fusion), Cyberverse Shadow Striker (image of her her patchwork body), Voyager Bludgeon, new Voyager Junkion Trashmaster (no image but is an "Evo-Fusion" like the other Junkions), and Leader Prime Universe Dreadwing
I wonder if Trashmaster is an Armada Overload retool since it has Evo-Fusion features?

We've already seen leaked images of a new headless Voyager mold at an early production stage, so we know the Trashmaster base.
Oh, I misunderstood, you're saying maybe it's a pre-tool. I don't know the character or figure that well, but it doesn't seem like a natural fit to me.

This one.

I think it can work simply because of the way his shoulder canon mode is done by sticking his legs on his arms giving them lots of extension. But I think they'd still have to up it to a Leader anyway just because there's really no excuse for them not including a "Core" Minicon Rollout to bring the price up anyway. Just noticed that Trashmaster and Overload's legs both separate just above the knee and they both have that same "Combiner Wars peg" looking shape at the end.
Probably means absolutely nothing since the shapes are otherwise different, just thought it was interesting.

With that out of the way: hey I guessed Orion right while Emerje got Shockwave, neat. I don't think that pack is for me, but I've preordered the Megs & Ratbat set.
Nice to have official confirmation of universes for Strongarm and Shadow Striker, Trashmaster is a solid name, and the fact that they showed a picture of explicitly IDW2 Bludgeon is again confirmation on that front. Also, Detritus is just a Hound repaint, which I didn't think needed confirming but apparently did?
I swear he had green instead of gold once too, so they've got options.Emerje wrote:Rodimus Prime wrote:Purple and lavender?Emerje wrote:Shockwave is a retooled Siege Seeker (called it!). They said they'd fight for a color variant if people ask for it, possibly as a Selects.

Ehhh, nothing about them really looked similar based off the prototype we saw, Trashmaster's got a window chest and presumably turns into a garbage truck.
