Courtesy of the Arts & Entertainment section of
Examiner.com, we have confirmation that composer Steve Jablonsky will be returning to score Michael Bay's Transformers: Age of Extinction. Jablonsky has just come from working on Ender's Game, and has worked with other major movie soundtracks, such as Bay's The Island and Armaggedon, as well as collaborating with Hans Zimmer on Pearl Harbor and Pirates of the Caribbean. Take a look at some interview snippets with Examiner below, and read the whole piece
here.
For this very special interview, Steve and I candidly talk about his involvement with "Ender's Game", the recent release of the soundtrack album, Transformers and Pain & Gain, working with Michael Bay and Gavin Hood and Steve's favorite composers and films of all time. So sit back and enjoy the ride!
Let’s touch on “Transformers” for a minute. You composed the music for the original trilogy of films that really showcased you as a terrific action composer and I really do love the original score very much. What exactly happened with your soundtrack releases for the series?
SJ: That's a big question. I'll just say that these huge summer blockbusters are intense and complex. I personally am so focused on completing the score and making the movie as good as I possibly can, sometimes the soundtrack process gets delayed, which is basically what happened with the first "Transformers." But it was a good learning experience, I try now to start thinking about the album as soon as I can.
Of course, “Transformers 4” is coming. Will you be returning to the series?
SJ: Yes. Very much looking forward to it.
Do you have an idea of what you want to do musically with this reboot?
SJ: Not yet. I need to see more and discuss ideas with Michael. He is still shooting but we will be meeting soon.

Love Mr. Jablonsky's music!
It was very strange not to have the last score on CD.
I have both other scores + other albums.

His scores are great but very similar. I literally thought that Ender's game was using the Transformers score, then I saw that he composed it.
Hopefully LP will be back for the end credits!

Enders Game soundtrack is quite good. I'd recommend. Great to hear he will be back again. His first score on T1 was beautiful, should have won an Oscar. I'd say an almost 100% buy for T4 soundtrack unless it's just lame re-hasing like the last Batman album. not so good.

To be honest, I feel kinda sory for Steve, create such great score for movie that itself is gonna be a total garbage. I hope there will be LP songs in next movie too.

After the confirmation,
a while back, that Steve Jablonsky will be returning to score Transformers: Age of Extinction, we have another musical tidbit to report. Seibertron.com member
mooncake623 has spotted electronic musician and DJ Steve Aoki
tweeting about discussing Transformers with Michael Bay - does this mean he will also be contributing to the film's music? Stay tuned (heh) to find out!

Hmm, I doubt they would use his collab with Linkin Park, unless they did more songs together that have yet to be released (as indicated by some interviews).
