Edit: Our source has contacted us again to clarify some confusion. The event is NOT Botcon, it is a smaller convention. We apologize for the mix up and will update when more information about this event and Botcon become available.

It would of been cool to have it at Disney World since they are coming out with the Mickey transformer and Disney World is a two hour drive for me

To think, even the slim chance that BotCon could come to my neck of the woods! Hells yeah.

......I will, however, wait for further details, since this is not really set-in-stone yet.

COme on bro...you should have seen this coming. The East is where EVERYTHING important is (allegedly)...just watch ESPN. Apparently there are no other NFL teams besides the Patriots (oh, and the Cowboys), MLB folded all teams except the Yankees and Red Sox, and the Celtics have already won the 2009 NBA title.
P.S. Can someone PLEASE shoot Tony Kornhiser? He needs to just go away somewhere...
Does Memphis actually count as Southeast? I'd lean towards Raleigh, NC or Atlanta, GA. Atlanta would be nice...been wanting to see the new aquarium down there...supposed to be even bigger than Shedd in Chicago.

I would but it's not available here, just SNP and SportCentre on TSN.
Posted by Firebird on December 4th, 2008 @ 11:28pm CST
Well I'm in the northeast, so a Botcon trip may be possible for me again. All I need to know is dates it's being held and the state it's gonna be located in. Then I can start my planning.

That and a Northwest con would rock, people would get a chance to see the place many of the stories take place.

emeraldbeacon wrote:Oh Lord, a summer convention in the southeast. Why not have it in a place where the weather is actually *tolerable* at that time of year for those of us not insane enough to live there?
Oh yeah, I forgot about that...
...They should have it in Canada. We have very mild summers. It's bad enough being a room fill with sweaty Transformer fans, don't put them out in the hot Florida summer sun too. There's not enough deoderant in the world.

Except that in College Football they ignore the fact that the Gators are the best team in the country and continue to focus on the stupid Big 12 and the pyramid of lies that their records are built upon.

Heck, I'm in the Athens area too. We've probably passed by one another in the toy eisle at Walmart, Target, or TRU. I'm not holding my breath that it'll be at the Classic Center.
Posted by GuyIncognito on December 5th, 2008 @ 8:51am CST
If it's in Atlanta, we're all meeting up at the Clermont Lounge!
Posted by xZAOx on December 5th, 2008 @ 8:54am CST
Oh, and Seibertron needs a new tipster. Seriously.
Of course, it could just be "misinformation", but with as delayed as this has been, that'd just serve to piss people off more, so hopefully they wouldn't do that.

I was just about to post that...
That bit of info speaks volumes in of itself.
::Frustration level: HIGH::

I don't want to bad mouth the Club. I'm not going to either.
But you know what?
I should.
Posted by Bed Bugs on December 5th, 2008 @ 11:52am CST
With Pete's comment, I'm of the understanding that Botcon is NOT in the Southeast then.
Maybe I should post more stories with Botcon rumors that get shot down so we can deduce the actual location. It'd probably be quicker than waiting for the club to announce it....

QFT
Edit (so post has substance):
I'd still roadtrip anywhere in the Southeast to see Stan Bush play live. I don't need Botcon as an excuse to do that.

Better than crowding 15 people into my hotel room.
And it would give me a chance to show off my collection.
With the seeming debunkment of this rumor, I suppose I'll stop celebrating. Still, if it does wind up down here, we should take off the day after the Con and hit up New Orleans for a Post-BotCon Party.

The is a huge convention center where they had the American Idol tryout a few years abck and Megacon is every feb
Or there is one right outside the Magic Kingdom. You can see the Castle and Space Mountain from the convention area.I heard there was a Joecon there a few years ago
But as usual they will possibly go to the middle of the country

Wheeljack35 wrote:I doubt it would be here in Florida
You doubt wrong! Stan will be in Orlando, Florida for JACON according to their RSS feed/LiveJournal: http://community.livejournal.com/jacon/
Narc wrote:Come on guys!!! Spill the beans already. I have to schedule my vacation from work next year.
JACON is Memorial Day weekend in Orlando, Florida. Check out http://www.jacon.org for more info.
UltraPrimal wrote:I hope it's in Florida too! Like in Orlando or Kissemmee. Then my whole family would go. Even if they don't want to go to the convention, they can just go to the tourist stuff down there.
No need to hope... it is Florida!

It is now.
Firebird wrote:All I need to know is dates it's being held and the state it's gonna be located in. Then I can start my planning.
Florida. As a bonus - Gregg Berger, the voice of GRIMLOCK, is also a guest!
Skice wrote:if it's in Tampa, PARTY AT 420's!
So close... about an hour or so east.
Gandalf wrote:I also hope it's in Florida. That really increases the chances I'll be able to attend.
Come to the Sunshine State for Transformers goodness!
It Is Him wrote:Also, I'm speculating either Orlando or Atlanta.
You speculated correctly, sir.
It Is Him wrote:I'd still roadtrip anywhere in the Southeast to see Stan Bush play live. I don't need Botcon as an excuse to do that.
Especially since BotCon is on the WEST COAST this year. Depending on where you are, Florida may be closer.
Sabrblade wrote:One possibility may be METROCON: Tampa's anime convention, which takes place every summer!
I surely hope he'll be here!
You were close. JACON is Florida's most successful anime convention. With over 20,000 attendees total since 2000, this will be their tenth year!

I had planned on taking my kids to Jacon cause they are more into Anime, but I am not crazy about Stan Bush doing a concert so will probably not go. I may make it to Megacon and always go to FX. Gregg Berger is a nice guy, I met him last year. According to the website, this is the last year for Jacon.
