I think this'll look real impressive especially after timshin's put some paint on that.

I am really hoping there isnt a cheesy "Robocop 3" jet pack scene in the movie.

Peterbilt truck: 25 feet long, 16,345 lbs
The trouble with combining these two is that a Blackbird is slightly larger than a truck. I'll be very interested to see how they cope with this in the film. Obviously the toys will never be to scale.

That's the best pic we've seen of this figure. It's really looking good.
You might be right about needing to see this properly transformed. It's clear enough that whoever took the pic of the combined version mistransformed Optimus's legs. Hopefully they mistransformed a little more than that because I was hoping for something a little more impressive than Prime with a plane on his back.
But I'm just going to consider the combined mode a bonus anyway. Sure, it could probably be a little better, and it's probably not close to screen accurate, but just having that extra feature is unheard of among Legends class.
With or without the gimmick, that new Optimus mold is completely awesome. So much better than the first movie legends.

Sledge wrote:Well that sucks. Prime and Jetfire combining, yay! An SR-71 combining with a truck. Goodbye any sense of scale and reality whatsoever. I never want to hear anyone connected with this godawful Bayformers franchise try and justify any decision they make with the word "realism" again.
Giant robots from a planet called Cybertron coming to Earth, scanning vehicles, growing parts so they can turn into the vehicle at will. That is REAL to you?

That's my point! They're making a film about giant, sentient alien robots that can transform, survive the depths of space (but not the arctic ), but they still try and throw out this sort of bollocks as a justification: (from Wiki) "The filmmakers have said that, ignoring the fan-termed "mass shifting" associated with the series, Optimus's final official height of 28ft (almost 10m) in robot mode would not have been possible to allow for all of the mechanics of the CGI model if they had gone with a cab-over, which would have dropped him instead to a smaller 20ft (almost 7m)." WTF? It's a Michael Bay film! No one gives a toss about realism!

Becouse combining a Truck and a Jet is AWESOME![/Bay]

On the other hand maybe they dont combine and Jetfire just gives Prime a lift for a while with some sort of grapples underneath.

Ravage XK wrote:I hope that they look like that combined simply because they are legend class and in the full size toys and CG models in the film Jetfire reduces his size somewhat otherwise I foresee a number of crappy jokes or Prime stumbling backwards gags.

The peg is on the top of Jetfire's jet-mode.
I think the combination has more to it then what we see here.
IF you look at Prime you'll notice that his arms look like they're part Jetfire and part Prime I think in the Full size thing Prime and Jetfire will combine more like Jetfire attaching a bit like armour.

Nice to see some props given to the Legends class though. The figures in this scale size keep getting better and better.

The scale thing bothers me a bit too... I can't see them combining in the movie anything like these toys apparently do... it just wouldn't work.
