"I'm Fortress"
"Master Sword!"
"Head On!"
"Here I come"
The rest I can't get

Yeah, maybe firewall against Decepticon hijackers. Or maybe Weirdwolf was overwhelmed by Fortress' power.

Hmm...I guess that the Autobots don't have much of a clothing budget for T-Ai, unless they're just a bit too eager to see a nearly nude human female.

Fortress Maximus In Hand

Ehe... that's one of the many retcons from... wait for it...
Kiss Play Position!
Long story short, lots of time/dimensions traveling, RiD Fortress Maximus was used in the past to protect something, and G1 Fortress Maximus is based on him. The End.

It's a reference to Kiss Players Position, in which Brave Maximus got sent back in time to crash-land on the Planet Master, where Fortress would see it crash and take inspiration from Brave Maximus to perfect his Headmaster technology and construct Battleship Maximus.Railbomb wrote:So what's with the beat up Brave Maximus early on? Hmmmm...and given that the Maximus battleship configuration and the Macross are probably loosely based on Whitebase, I believe that particular time travel trope is an Inverse-Macek-Loop.Sabrblade wrote:It's a reference to Kiss Players Position, in which Brave Maximus got sent back in time to crash-land on the Planet Master, where Fortress would see it crash and take inspiration from Brave Maximus to perfect his Headmaster technology and construct Battleship Maximus.Railbomb wrote:So what's with the beat up Brave Maximus early on? BullsEye!
Kind of also a bit like how the Ark crashed into prehistoric Earth. Fortress reversed engineered the divine sourced technology into what would become planet Master's super science which G1 Optimus Prime didn't use back in the year 2000 up 'cause another retcon had Brave Max becoming the core of Autobot City aside from Metroplex being the mobile sentient portion of it. Just imagine if Optimus reversed engineered brave Max back then, then the war would have been over.

I'll be able to pay for him this Monday
Btw, sort of a reverse. In the original G1, Cerebros/Fortress is smaller than the regular Hm. Now, it's him who is taller (the head version compared to the deluxe Hms).

Wait, I've never seen this done before. Is this something intentional that Hasbro/TT forgot to tell us about or is it just something he figured out? There's no real need for this, but it's strange coincidence if it wasn't intended. When one of TT's designers does this it feels intentional.

This is the first time we've seen this right? I had no idea the whole head was white and blue, I'm not sure how I feel about it. I mean the helmet covers it, and it's not a deal breaker but it's unexpected.

Is the face under the helmet supposed to look like Skyfire? Rather strange choice.

I think it's supposed to be Perceptor. At least, before Takara's recolour.

I think I was the first person here to point out that it was a Perceptor face under Blaster's helmet. What I meant was did they paint the face to try to make it look like Skyfire. It looks like they did.

Blaster's pack-in Legends comic seems to agree with this as there's a close up panel of Blaster's helmet-less head that also contains a thought bubble that flashes back to his Binaltech Asterisk body.

Because the head is in Twincast's colors. The larger body isn't the real Blaster, just a lifeless Transtector that Twincast, the head, controls.Bumblebee21 wrote:why is blasters face white

I'll just go with total design fluke.

The G1 cartoon of course, including the white face:

Eject, and completion's sake, the pink one's Rosanna.

Though, for clarity's sake, this toy isn't being treated as Blaster's cartoon body proper, but is instead treated as an evolved form of that body, an upgrade from his Twincast body that he got in The Headmasters cartoon. A third form for Cartoon Blaster overall.JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Maximal Rainmaker wrote:I wonder what Legends Blaster's deco is meant to be accurate to...

LG28 Rewind & Nightbeat
LG29 Wheelie & Goshooter
LG30 Weirdwolf
Comments:
* So, Japanese Nightbeat is EVERYONE! (Specifically, Nightbeat is just a Headmaster Junior suit worn by... I guess all of the employees of the Axalon Trading Company, with Rattrap being the first one to don the armor via a pair of Master-Braces.)
* Uh, Wheelie, you do know that Arcee is usually naked 99% of the time, right? What you're peeking at is always exposed anyway.
* And Chromedome is still stuck inside Batora's mouth.

There was a lot of continuity-rich material in both Kiss Players Position and Teletraan 15 Go! Go!. And Sakamoto is a continuity nut himself who loves filling in continuity holes and referencing other materials to add to the continuity overall.Kurona wrote:Why do they keep referencing that thing

By the same illustrator, no less. Mind you, he's also done Metro Wars, Train Wars, and done line work for FunPub. And skirt hiking is seemingly considered "humorous" over there as it incidentally pops up in manga, anime, and the occasional live action series.
...

Galvatron's transtector body functions by itself and treats the head like a soccer ball? Weird and not surprising. Galvatron is a looney as you can get.
All this references and retcons by Takara is really eerie yet fits.........as if they really planned the connections years ago.
Somewhat related,if that Megatronia combiner eventually becomes, which looks to be, canon in the JP continuity, Convoy dies after 7 days, Galvatron gets stasis lock and is thrown back into the Arctic then leads to Return of Convoy then leads to eventual Metrowars etc
Really eerie coincidental with the product background connections.(No wonder in one of the G2 comics a few years back, Broadcast was already in his G1 mode (i.e. red)..........enough to make your head spin and yet now makes sense.

In other words, it's kinda cultural as I mentioned in Unite Warriors. This can be seen in anime since like Gatchaman (1972) (or even earlier Astroboy( not Tatsunoko) episodes and even religious Superbook where one of the boy characters are seen swimming nude which was eventually edited in later shows also by Tatsunoko) where you see Jun the Swan keeps getting gratuitous upskirt shots.
Why? Well JZGR says it all.
