14 years ago on June 26th, 2000, a little Transformers fansite name Seibertron.com launched which itself has transformed into a website that reaches over 400,000 unique monthly visitors from around the world. While the initial focus for the first 4 years were screen capture galleries from the cartoons, the primary focus of this site switched to toy galleries back in 2004. During the past 10 years, over 3,160 Transformers toys have gone under the scrutiny of my camera in order to bring all of you be-all end-all galleries of our favorite characters in toy form. Improvements to my computer, cameras and lighting setup have continued to aid my efficiency to share hundreds of thousands of photos that have all been individually hand cropped.

While the Seibertron.com galleries are a work-in-progress and unfortunately don't cover everything (yet), just about everything from the past 30 years of the Transformers toys has been covered. From Generation One to Transformers Prime, Optimus Primal to Optimus ExPrime, Calvin Johnson Megatron to Nike Megatron, G1 Unicron to Lucky Draw Unicron and everything in between. It's been a fun ride so far and I can't thank all of you enough for being part of this exciting journey that has no end in sight.

One image at a time has led to the world's largest collection of Transformers galleries and images. Currently, the Seibertron.com 3,169 galleries are comprised of 300,420 images. In the time since the first gallery launched back on January 4th, 2004, I have posted an average of ...

564 photos (5.96 galleries) per week
80 photos (0.85 galleries) per day
3.36 photos per hour

... and that's just the photos that end up on the site and not counting the ones that end up on the cutting room floor due to blurry shots, poor colors or white balance, mis-transformed figures, duplicates, etc.

I appreciate all of the encouragement, support, pageviews, compliments, and your participation here on Seibertron.com as the quest to photograph just about everything Transformers toy related continues well into 2014 and beyond. As long as all of you keep checking out the galleries here, I'll keep churning them out!

Without further ado, I thought I'd use this moment to highlight Seibertron.com's 50 most popular galleries. These very popular galleries cover a variety of different toys from the 30 year history of the Transformers toys. Some may surprise you, some surprise even myself.

Every time I catch my youngest son using google images to look up a Transformer I always ask him what the hell he's doing and tell him to come here for pictures. Anytime I need to verify the transformation of a 2nd hand figure I've purchased or wind up purchasing "junk piles" of figures and need to sort and identify parts before repairing/rebuilding, I come to your galleries. I have the utmost respect for all your hard work here and have to give heartfelt thanks on creating such a wonderful site and doing such amazing photos. Congratulations on hitting this milestone and here's to a great many more. :APPLAUSE:

Congratulations Ryan! This site is a huge resources for collectors the world over, and a prime (heh) source of news and information on Transformers as well. Your galleries are always a pleasure to look through and some are eagerly anticipated as they are the most detailed look we get at figures. I use your photos as a resource to keep inventory of my collection and to help inform my purchasing decisions. Well done and thank you for all your hard work. Congratulations! 3 photos a day is insane. It brings my heart joy to see so many of my favorite Transformers franchises consistently being appreciated and some approaching a million views. Who knew that one of the most difficult and fear-inducing transformations ever (MP Megatron) made the top of the list, maybe people wanted to see pictures rather than transform it themselves :lol:

Also surprised to see Blackout so high on the list, I'm not an enormous fan of that mold. He really could've used the leader treatment

Masterpiece Megatron has always been near the top of the list but he only recently surpassed Movie 2007 Leader Class Optimus Prime. A lot of the top 50 are galleries that I had really early full blown galleries. Masterpiece Megatron was oddly one that we didn't have a lot of photos of initially before he was released. We had one of first galleries of him.

I'm pretty sure my gallery of Movie Optimus Prime was first as well. I got him a few weeks before he started showing up in retail thanks to the press kit box that Hasbro sent out to sites like Seibertron.com and other media outlets. I got the box after work one night because UPS wouldn't drop it off at my apartment. I had to take the city bus to go to the UPS pickup facility between downtown Chicago and Comiskey. What a pain that was. By the time I got home (on a work night), it was like 9 o'clock at night or something. I worked until 3 in the morning on that gallery (and still made it to work by 9am the next morning) so that we could be the first to have the full gallery of it.

City Commander was one of the biggest traffic days on Seibertron.com ever. FansProject sent that to me about 4 to 6 weeks in advance of the retail release. Again, we had a first exclusive with that one. City Commander was really the first of the modern era of 3rd party products. People were super excited about it.

Blackout and some of the other movie ones were initially really popular again because we were able to get galleries done of them long before retail release. D-Banks hooked me up with that one. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like he's been around here for the past 5 years. Always a bummer to see members like him disappear from the hobby. memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=34099

Congratulations on the milestone Seibs. If I have questions on how a figure is supposed to look/transform, I always check to see if it has a gallery here before looking for other sources.

I can't imagine the amount of patience it takes to take all those photos, even if it's an excuse to play with the figures a lot. Especially next to a full time job and caring for a newborn. I do remember back in the day when the screen captures were the dominant feature, and I wish you still had them. I enjoyed looking through those. I look through the galleries mainly to look at figures I don't and have never owned, as well as helping me make purchase decisions. I am surprised that a lot of the movie figures are in the top 50. It shows great dedication on your part for what you love to prepare these galleries, not only for the recognition you get for it, but also to contribute to the fandom as much as the site does.

Thanks Ken! It's great to hear from you and it's fantastic as always to hear that the photos are being used as reference material at Hasbro. I often think of the artists at Hasbro and at IDW when I'm working on these galleries hoping that I can provide you guys with material that you need for references.

It's a little easier once Seibertron.com became the full time job back in 2009. I still put in 80 hour work weeks but it beats working for someone else and trying to find some time to work on this site. I just wouldn't be able to do it all if I was still working for someone else. I don't know what would have happened.

As for the "newborn" ... she turns 5 next month!

There's literally no gallery I haven't seen before or after any purchase of any figure. Many times had to come back to it (talking about alternators wheeljack/grimlock or ROTF Mixmaster) to properly transform many figures, to find out unseen gimmicks, features. I clearly remember the first time I got to your gallery was on a google search for Unicron, and ever since there's no day I don't come back here to refreshment. CONGRATULATIONS!

When it comes to buying "used" or "pre-owned" Transformers, this site is my first stop before I make a purchase to make sure I'm not buying something that is garbage or missing parts, and also when I arrive home, if I don't have instructions, here I come again to see if I get the transformation correct.

Not only that, Seibertron.com is set as my homepage, and has been that way since I "discovered" the site. I rarely post in the forums, but when I do, if I have a question or comment, I feel I'm treated as an equal and be given the benefit of the doubt when I ask something where 'everybody' knows the answer already.

Lastly, I love the Twincast Podcast, mostly for that the people involved don't try to be a "radio personality" but just be themselves.

Now that I've read the thread I understand why, but Movie 2007 Wreckage being on the most viewed list stood out like a sore thumb for a bit. I mean, it's an awesome figure, but everything else on the list is a pretty established character or classic toy.

Yah, Wreckage is on that list because his gallery went up over 2 months (or more) in advance of his retail release. His gallery was posted on March 3rd, 2007. People love to see stuff early ... especially movie stuff which is always really huge here on Seibertron.com.

What's amazing is the staying power of his gallery. It's one thing to shoot to the top of the list if it's an early gallery, but it's a whole other issue to withstand the test of time.

I remember way, way back when you first started this project, not long after the mighty VSD was implemented.

I also remember your horror at my initial thought it was going to be a TFU style affair.

and I remember you finding Masterforce Minerva a pain because when you first did her you used white backgrounds and toys like Ratchet ect just turned into glare

I really love these galleries, though. Great artistic choices are made and your light-box\rig is amazing.
