The comic, mirrored below, also appears to show not only Megajet and Gigatank - as Mega and Giga lure the Masterforce characters into a culinary trap - but also a second Overlord (so you can have Mega Overlord and Giga Overlord, apparently) and ...a combined mode for two Overlords? It is unclear if this is something the figures can do, or purely for the fiction, but take a look below and join the discussion in the Energon Pub!

Vaal, you're absolutely right! There's not a hint of unwell maternal copulation in this comic. Let's hope the other comics can keep this up!
Here's a comparison between the recent comic, and the original depiction (of an actual ADULT, no less).
Anyway, how did the poster get this so fast? My Amazon order isn't even scheduled for delivery yet.

Could be wrong here, but I THINK Amazon gets them before they're in shops? Especially as the Legends line isn't really out in most shops.

Could be because they were made in Hong Kong?
My order, sold by Amazon Japan itself (not via Amiami, as I'm oft to do at Amazon) won't be delivered until tomorrow at the earliest.
Maybe the pics were by a shop owner who had opened some stock?

Oh, so they were opened by shop staff and posted? I was just worried that Amazon was getting sloppy. No point in preordering them if they are going to be late! Also, I didn't see the thread for the toys, so I'll get back on topic for the comic for this thread.
Were they serving Japanese style "chaohan" (fried rice) in the comic? I just cooked myself some frozen Japanese chaohan from 7-11 and was eating it as I looked at this article.

I would imagine that this form is possible to achieve with two Overlords as a way to put Overlord on the same size level as God Ginrai, since whenever Sakamoto does some new mode thing like this it tends to be something that one can finagle out of the toys themselves.

So basically this comic is an advertisement to sell all those Hasbrolords nobody bought. I remember they were selling them $30 free shipping and I still passed.

Why would you write this? I'm not a fan of these comics, but as sick as they may be, its also obvious that there are other things that can be appreciated in them. It's obvious that this comic shows what can be done to homage the original Japanese source material WITHOUT being offensive, and I would like to encourage MORE of that. If you could read Japanese, perhaps the plot might add more depth to your engagement with the manga?
And please all you non-Japanese news guys stop calling it a "manga" youre not from Japan, just call it a comic and stop trying to sound all worldly sophisticated...lol
Who the HECK do you think you are? Do you KNOW where all of the posters, mods and admins are from? Do you know that people in other countries are allowed to engage with and discuss Japan, even if they aren't from there? Some of the posters here actually live in Japan. Do you know that "manga" is a loan word in English? Regardless, if you want the site to make changes, how about PMing the staff, or engaging with them in less caustic manner?

Actually, when I teach my Japanese kids to talk about Japanese food, there are times when the loan word or another term are at odds or provide a difficult choice as to what to use. For example, I elicit "Japanese curry" instead of "curry rice" due to the loan word being incorrect ("curry WITH rice"), not necessarily accurate (it might have bread or noodles with it) and outside Japan, or within the context of different world curries (i.e., international conversation).
That and I'm a curry snob and believe that no matter how good it is (and there is an amazing place near my flat in Japan that does the BEST Chicken Katsu Curry with a MASSIVE glass of beer, if anyone wants to come and join me for it in Japan, PM me), it will ALWAYS be beneath Indian/British Indian curry...
Oh, bugger, I'm off topic again. Hang on, no I'm not, it's just a segway to the ideas of Japanese food, as shown in the latest Overlord comic!
Yatta!

Technically, Sushi isn't always raw fish (that's Sashimi). I think it CAN be done with raw fish, but it's not a necessity.
And yes, PrimalXConvoy, katsu curry is delicious. At least, the ones I've tried are, I'm sure if I went to Japan and had a proper one it'd knock the ones I've had into a cocked hat.

Did I spell "Hentei" wrong? Maybe because Im not Japanese. So im not going to start calling comics "mangas" either. Ill stick to my native language, thank you. Using foreign words to replace perfectly good English words doesnt make me any more or less of a fan. Its kind of silly.

Rated X wrote: I'll stick to my native language, thank you. Using foreign words doesnt make me any more or less of a fan. Its kind of silly.
Firstly, I've added a punctuation mark to "your own language", for clarity. Secondly, "manga" IS an English word, as it's in the English dictionary:
This type of word is known as a "loan word":
In Japan, they also use such words, which is why they have "intaneto" ("internet"), etc.
However, if you wish to only use "your own language", does that mean you are going to cease using ALL loan words from now on, such as "cafe" (French), "et cetera" (Latin), "trans" (Greek) and "form" (derived from Latin)? If not, what historical or cultural period will you draw the line at for your lexical cull?
I must warn you, though, that institutions bigger than yourself have tried to stave off lexical evolution, and failed:

Personally, if you REALLY want to start talking about linguistic purity, then as a British EFL teacher, I'd be more than happy to teach you to speak BRITISH English, so that you cease using "incorrect", "foreign" non-British English.
No? Didn't think so.
Posted by Sabrblade on January 26th, 2018 @ 8:36pm CST
You just did again. It's "Hentai".Rated X wrote:Did I spell "Hentei" wrong?
Nor are most of us, yet we're not ignorant of how to spell.Rated X wrote:Maybe because Im not Japanese.
Dude, English (especially American English) is a melting pot of so many words that originated from a ton of other languages.Rated X wrote:So im not going to start calling comics "mangas" either. Ill stick to my native language, thank you. Using foreign words to replace perfectly good English words doesnt make me any more or less of a fan. Its kind of silly.
In America, the word "manga" refers to only one certain kind of comics, as not all comics are manga in America. Every Barnes and Noble, Books-A-Million, and other major bookstore chain in America uses the word "Manga" as an official category to refer to that specific kind of comics, just as they use the category "Graphic Novel" to refer to the kind of comics that are sold bound in think volume collections rather than single issues. Even public libraries use "Manga" for their Manga sections.
It's no different than how the word "Sedan" is used to refer to a specific type of car as not all cars are Sedans (and it's not a brand name either, so you can't use that excuse to argue its being different from "Manga" also not being a brand name). The word "Sedan", like the word "Manga", is non-English in origin, being an Italian-derived word. English absorbed "Sedan" from the Italian language into its vocabulary just like it did for the word "Manga" from the Japanese language.
Why is one foreign language word acceptable to you but not another? By your logic, if every English word borrowed from another language ought to be removed from the English language, then the English language as we know it would be pretty bare-boned (or not even exist at all) since the very language itself is rooted entirely in foreign languages: Latin, French, Germanic, Greek, and more.

The two explain that they've come back to life to finish their vendetta against Ginrai and spread fliers advertising their business in order to lure him in, and are again working with Devil Z, recovered from his previous defeat by absorbing the Legends World's energies. After letting Ginrai finish his meal so that they'll be at full strength for the battle, the villainous couple equip their new Masterforce suits and get ready to fight, pleasing Devil Z who reveals he's responsible for reviving them to help him with destroying the world. Ginrai questions why they'd do that, but Giga and Mega don't care who they have to work with as long as they they get to settle things with Ginrai.
As the combatants get to their respective transtectors, Super Ginrai taunts his opponents that he's already seen what the Gigatank and Megajet can do at Bonapar Island, only for them to reveal that they've regained the ability to become Overlord, now as Headmasters. Ginrai remains confident he can win with his mastery of Ten-Chi-Jin Chōkon Power, but Overlord claims to have mastered a power beyond that of Ten-Chi-Jin—the wish-granting Zamojin power of the Legends World, also known as Shinchōkon! Using this energy, Overlord creates another Gigajet and Gigatank out of thin air, allowing Mega to form the head of a second Overlord, and together "Overlord Giga" and "Overlord Mega" overwhelm Super Ginrai and Godbomber with their "Chōkon Double Kick Tornado". Ginrai is forced to call upon Rattrap and use his Getmaster powers to fire a beam of Jūchōkon, though it fails to impress and Overlord Giga counters with a "Chōkon Dis-Relive" missile barrage that Ginrai only deflects by combining into God Ginrai and using Godbomber's recently upgraded armor. However, the Overlords reveal that he's not the only one who can combine and use Shinchōkon to merge together into a form dubbed "Overlord Tera". This prompts Devil Z to show up to gloat, when suddenly Doubleclouder subdues him with energon chains, the double agent having been loyal to Mayor Megatron from the start.
God Ginrai is brought down by Overlord Tera's mighty Chōkon Devil Fire, but when Rattrap urges him to fight on, he starts glowing with a mysterious light. Watching the battle, Metroplex recognizes it as the light of the Zamojin energy that brought him to this world—Ginrai has been imbued with Rattrap's latent Shinchōkon! Using Get On to draw upon both Jūchōkon and Shinchōkon from the rat, he covers his body in flames and uses a "Double Chōkon Fire Guts" tackle to take down Overlord, who admits defeat. Giga and Mega are ready to die again together with Devil Z, but Clouder informs them that Devil Z has been safely captured and will not be killed, so neither will they, and Ginrai happily tells them they're welcome to try to settle things with him some other time. In the end, the couple continues to run their restaurant and Mega is happily reunited with the Decepticon Headmaster Juniors, though Giga has to end the half-off offer when Ginrai starts eating there all the time.

Oh, I, uh, hadn't realized that Bigfight's page got merged with Big Convoy's.
Looking at the comic again, I guess Bigfight was just Legends World Big Convoy in disguise or something (maybe he underwent a momentary case of Transformer sickness). As for the Decepticon thing, Takara likely partnered the elephant with Blitzwing first and then left it to Sakamoto to give it an identity in the fiction, resulting in the Decepticon allegiance of Bigfight being set in stone before Sakamoto made him into Big Convoy.
I can't see any Decepticon symbols on Bigfight in the comic, so maybe he might technically not be a Decepticon in the comic (just on the toy).
Or maybe it's another case like how when the Legends World Maximal Rhinox underwent Transformer sickness he turned into the evil-factioned Vehicon Tankor.
I guess we'll have to wait and see what the synopsis will say about this when it comes.

Fastlane and Cloudraker arrive in the Legends World and Waspinator dutifully fills his role of explaining who they are, though Megatron doesn't see what makes them "Clones" until he sees their nigh-identical robot modes. It turns out the two are on the run from the Galactic Peace Alliance for data theft, and when they find themselves confronted by the fake Spike Witwicky and Hound, Fastlane makes a run for it. Knowing he's the one with the data, Spike and Hound pursue and corner him in a dead end, but when he he starts panicking about being trapped, they realize they've been tricked: Fastlane doesn't suffer from claustrophobia, meaning they've actually gone after Cloudraker.
Cloudraker claims the data Fastlane took contains evidence that Spike is a fake, causing an argument to break out between Spike and Hound as the Autobot grows suspicious and demands to know what exactly the Clones are guilty of. While Cloudraker is glad they're being distracted long enough that Fastlane can get away, his hopes are dashed when his reckless brother suddenly returns to rescue him. As they flee using Cloudraker's plane mode, Spike orders Hound to kill them, but this is is the last straw for the Autobot, who knows the real Spike would never be so cold-blooded and refuses the order. This allows Fastlane the opportunity to blast Spike with a sonic beam, destroying his disguise and revealing his true identity to be Old Snake, and though he manages to escape, Hound takes care of the incriminating data and promises to sniff him out wherever he's hiding.
As the Clones celebrate a job well done, Rattrap notes that they're really quite different after all and Tigatron is reminded of "spot the difference" games.

The Blitzwing comic is rather intriguing since it sheds light on who the partner "drone" might be. The black redeco of Shuffler seems to be Big Convoy, so a sentient robot after all. Also, we see Blitzwing drones coloured to homage Blitzwing Diaclone colour scheme, and they seem to be the army for the Quintessons.
Also, in Legends Manga news, we have a summary for the Overlord comic we recently posted, which will be found below the comic scans and the tech specs.

And then Blitzwing teams up with the mysterious black elephant to save the legends world with the help of astrotrain? I can't wait for a synopsis of this one.
I REALLY hope we can get those (Ehobby?) clones! I would love to see the black version, used as a heavy trooper in the recent cell-shaded TF game, too. I love the Blitzwing mold.

It's just the old G1 mold version pictured here, drawn in the style of Blitzwing's 1985 cartoon model.Deadput wrote:Darn it, now I want Overcharges...they would probably be very expensive troop builders like the last one.
The headless one Blitzwing takes control of to become his new Transtector body not only changes its colors but is reformatted entirely into resembling his new toy.
In other words, this isn't an indication of an upcoming Overcharge redeco of the TR/Legends Blitzwing mold. Otherwise, they would have drawn the Overcharges to match the new toy mold like they did with Blitzwing himself.

Anyway, speaking of his designs and models, when I noticed that the Legends version is based on the TFTM version, in the "come on down, AutoBRAT" scene, I noticed that his turret was facing the nosecone, not the feet/headlights as it "should do". Is that an animation error, line the yellow "collars" alongside his head?

On the flipside, this comic is encouraging us to keep troop building the preexisting Overcharge toy.primalxconvoy wrote:Sabrblade wrote:It's just the old G1 mold version pictured here, drawn in the style of Blitzwing's 1985 cartoon model.Deadput wrote:Darn it, now I want Overcharges...they would probably be very expensive troop builders like the last one.
