Now that distributors such as Entertainment Earth and Diamond are sending out their orders listings for stores for this fall, however, we have more than just a hint towards the purple faction showing up as early as wave 1. Fellow Seibertronian Samsonator contacted us to let us know the following:
My workplace just out through orders for our first shipments of War For Cybertron: Siege figures. Included in the Leader Class assortment was a listing for Leader Class Shockwave. I didn't see this info myself so I can not confirm it, but the biggest Shockwave fan in the store did the ordering, so he knows what he's talking about. So for now, I will say this is a rumour.
The store I work for is an independently owned collectibles store, but the cases we order are the same as regular big box retailers. The listings were all by name, and mostly what we've seen already, except for a few (Voyager Class "M", presumably Megatron, Deluxe "S", possibly Sixgun (since Starscream was previously listed as a voyager), Leader Class "G", maybe a Galvatron?) but Shockwave was identified by name in the Leader Class assortment
We did some digging, and the rumour may appear to be indeed founded, with wave 1 supposedly including: Battle Masters Blowpipe, Lionizer and Firedrive; Micro Masters Race Car Patrol, Battle Patrol, Airstrike Patrol; Deluxes Sideswipe, Deluxe S (starscream?), Cog, Hound; Voyagers Optimus Prime and M (megatron?); Leaders Ultra Magnus and, here he is, Shockwave. Take this with a pinch of salt until a full reveal from Hasbro and/or corroboration from another source, but in the meantime, feel free to join the speculation in the Energon Pub!

Maybe it'll be Micron Legends Shockwave
I mean we'll get an RID Ultra Magnus alt mode. So why not?
And maybe this one can finally combine with a Megatron

But wait, wasn't the idea that this line was supposed to be as G1 accurate as possible? Because if it is, Megatron & Shockwave should be the same size, and if Megatron is a voyager, Shockwave should be as well... Right?

MP shockwave and original shockwave both fill that need. The deluxe and voyager shockwaves have been awful, so I would like a good one in either size class.

The MP is on sale at BBTS for $120 and the G1 has reissues on eBay for under $70. Considering that seige will be about $50 and not be anywhere as good as those two, yeah, I'll pass on it.

Not as good as this thing?
I'll appreciate an updated version for about $50 or 60 € and I hope it'll have an alt mode that makes more sense than an oversized handgun. The CW Legends class Shockwave was a pretty good compromise for that

I think a Leader Shockwave could be done in a way that keeps him in scale.
Imagine a beefy main cannon of a leader class tank that transforms into a Voyager height Shockwave bot.
The rest of the tank could transform into some kind of power-up armor for him, similar to how Ultra Magnus is done.
They've said they're open to doing bot+armor with other figures, so... the core Shockwave bot could be rather simple (again, like Voyager UM is) and look like his G1 version, and then when powered up with tank treads hanging off his limbs, he could resemble the Prime/Movie shockwave more as an homage.
I mean, Shockwave doesn't have a very complex transformation as it is. Put the arms up, put the legs together, bend down the head. It's really a perfect candidate for a 'simple voyager' with armor.

Make Scorponok and/or Deathsaurus a leader!
As for Shockwave make it a G1 Voyager or they can keep it.

If Deluxe "S" is just Starscream, I'll be very disappointed. It sure would throw out that "scale is very important to us with War for Cybertron" line we've been fed. Starscream needs to be a Voyager class figure to scale correctly with the rest of the line revealed so far.

And yet, I was thinking once I had Moonracer in hand how well her basic layout could be retooled into a rather decent Starscream. Even the back of the car folds out into wings in robot mode....

Also, reminder that part of the focus in this line is only giving gimmicks to figures that originally had them/the gimmick makes sense for, so an Evolution/Armored Shockwave isn't likely to come just because he's Leader-class. Magnus has armor because Magnus is supposed to have armor, not because of a size-class-wide gimmick like POTP.

Honestly...Predators would be cool, although I mainly just know of and like Stalker and Snare for Wreckers reasons. Both DO start with S...

He can still have a Voyager sized bot mode and a Leader size alt mode, just look at the things they've done in Studio Series.
TF-fan kev777 wrote:I wonder if mystery man S could be the rumored Sixgun?
This was the comment I wanted to make, but thinking about it they probably wouldn't put two Deluxe Weaponizers in the first wave. Starscream does make the most sense considering the Tetra Jet art we've seen and the potential for repaints throughout the line.
Oh, and he's "Bluestreak" again, and we probably will get him and Smokescreen eventually.

And what was Shockwave's gimmick? Oh yeah, he was a big laser gun with lights and sounds, three things that the new figure definitely won't incorporate. He has to be something entirely new by default so he may as well have armor.

Ooh, this, 100%, I'd buy that.
Either that, or *gasp* maybe he has no gimmick. So far the characters with gimmicks are in the minority in this line compared to the other figures outside of the weapons, who's to say Shockwave has to do something special?

Eh, he most likely won't have a gimmick, but it's fun to imagine!
But really, if in the 0.0001% chance this Onyx Armor would happen, I would fall out of my chair and pass out for 3 days and then proceed to buy it at scalper price.

The main reasoning is that she's been featured in both the Cyberverse toyline & the brand new trading card game. I'm not really sure why has been trying to get her back into the limelight, as she hasn't had a real presence since Transformers Animated, but whatever. And in the end, who knows?
Still hope it really isn't screamer, as i need a good voyager Starscream after the disasterpiece that was PotPie Starscream.

Honestly I'll likely be fine with him no matter how he turns out. There aren't many outright bad Leader figures (I really can't think of one that I dislike) so I have no reason to think this one wont turn out well, with or without armor.

Hasbro was very clear that this line would be robot mode scale accurate. So that posits a problem for the leader class which only has a few characters that would work (like Jetfire and Ultra Magnus, as we saw in the previous Gen lines). Which makes me truly believe that there is an armour up/extra accessory gimmick going on here, giving us a voyager sized shockwave at a leader price. Just like TLK Sqweaks was a smaller toy with accessories sold as a deluxe. And more specifically, like Ultra Magnus who is a confirmed voyager sized white prime that comes with armour. Plus, since they also confirmed that they had made mock ups of all the possible winners of the prime contest, there is a "voyager" sized shockwave out there already designed that would end up at a leader class price point.
Anyways, all the evidence points to this shockwave being in perfect scale with a voyager Megatron. The only thing that some fans might not like is that they still have to pay a leader price for him on accessories/armour they might not need.
Not so thrilled about deluxe class seekers though.

My only complaint if they do role out their unused designs is that it sort of cheapens the poll from PotP a bit. It wouldn't be "Which character should get a new toy with this gimmick?!" It'd just be, which do you want first. Which, while I acknowledge they'll always use the characters multiple times, annoys me because if they're using the evolution gimmick, then there's a gimmick that doesn't belong. If it's a case with Ultra Magnus, it works because that was his design. But Shockwave was never a power-up. It should have been either Star Saber or Thunderwing then. Idk, just my two cents

I wasnt referring to the power up per se, I was referring to them already having designs for a "voyager sized" shockwave, meaning the one that would have gotten a power up in POTP. They could start from that smaller figure and build around it differently, or give it added accessories. I do not think we will be getting exactly what we would have gotten if he would have won.
Regardless, I sure as fuck hope Trypticon winning the titan vote does not mean we will never get an Omega Supreme of Scorponok. That would suck hard, dont care if it means the titan poll ends up cheapened a little.

Oh, I'm not saying that we should never get the "losers" of a poll. I just don't think when they do get their next figure they should be what the poll was for. (Still never understood why Trypticon won the Titans Return poll when Scorponok was there...) Basically, if Omega's this years titan, he shouldn't be a headmaster. My point is they shouldn't do more power up guys, unless it makes sense. Primal shows what happens when a design that was never meant to evolve, does

Scale wise the only thing that kinda bothers me are the decepticon seekers - reckon they should be voyagers as planes are always larger than cars and that the deceptions always seemed to be outnumbered but they compensated for this by being larger and more powerful besides being able to fly... Leader class like the CW jetfire moulds were overkill however...

I keep thinking I read that Starscream was confirmed to be a Voyager, but I'm not sure if it was true (a Warden video interview?) or it was

I'm inclined to think Deluxe S_____ is Sixgun. One day soon we'll find out, probably when we least expect!
