Don't get the KO, it's not worth the $40 price for a floppy mess

Don't get me wrong i will probably get the original cos I want to support hastaks efforts but I was avoiding repaints where I could in the mp line with ratchet probably being the first I'll get.
I own ko devastator and superion g1 figures that are ok standins for the half destroyed sets I owned as a kid. They were dirt cheap and am ok with them but I wouldn't want kids playing with them. However I've sen YouTube of mp knock offs and they seem pretty good. But yeah guess I'm gonna have to pony up.

Maybe, maybe not. The third party market has come far enough along for Takara to no longer be garunteed to make a better figure. The current 3rd party Inferno and Grapple are amazing figures. Takara has their work cut out.

As for the desire for more Decepticons, come on guys, we just got Ramjet. And before that we just got SHOCKWAVE, who's so powerful that he curbstomped every Autobot aboard the Ark all at once:
He even bested Megatron:
We need all of these Autobots to have enough of an army to just stand against Shockwave's might and logic.

What if.... it's the same figure? since you know same designers and all.

Ramjet started us down I road I hope we can back out of. The last thing we need is more Takara Tomy Mall exclusive unique MP characters at full MSRP. Hopefully Hasbro can get us a retail version someday for a better price.
As for Inferno, it just looks like someone digitally chopped up the original figure and made a silhouette out of it. If it does happen and he's that small it means they've finally abandoned alt mode scale which opens the doors for figures like Cliffjumper that are hard to scale and proportionalize. Unless they found a way to turn a giant firetruck into a much smaller robot.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad we'll get an inevitable Grapple out of this, but we need some more cons!

Takara has already abandoned any semblance of "alt mode scale" with the release of MP Bumblebee. His VW mode is way undersized to fit in with the other MP cars and trucks. The figures really scale in robot mode only. The fact that most of the cars at least fit in Optimus' or Ultra Magnus' trailers has more to do with play and display features than scale consistency.

Well yeah duh, but I was mostly talking about the overall shape. The feet for example look like they transform in an extremely similar way from what I can see. I am hoping it's different enough for people to not just say "MMC did it better". I hope Takara's version's main difference is not just that he's more blocky.
Also, MMC's figures have way more articulation that Takara's MPs. I hope that doesn't draw too many people away. I hope Inferno is also a lot less expensive than MMC's version.

It's not dead! There are things they want to do that depend on licensing deals and all the timing/etc around thoseUltra Markus wrote:what ever happened to the MP Hound rumor

Honestly, I'd be much happier if they just dropped the real car alt mode, made it a cartoon style car, and dint have to bother with a license.

actually, half the MP figures people want can be found within Alternators

Masterpiece demands a higher standard than Alternators. They were great figures for their time but have been surpassed.

Agreed. Alternators still take up a good chunk of my shelf space (I'm only missing five), but they're no Masterpieces. They blended fairly well with the earliest MPs like Optimus Prime and Starscream, but they were left far behind when MP-10 came around.
I'm sure we'll have our MP Hound if we just wait. Hasbro has had a good relationship with their parent company, Fiat Chrysler, so they shouldn't have too much trouble making one from a license perspective. From a design perspective he might be a little tricky being such an open vehicle, doesn't give a lot of places to hide parts and still look cartoon accurate.

Sabrblade wrote:While no MP, Alternators Hound is an exceptionally good figure, especially when compared to the other figures of that line. It's the one Alternator I would constantly play with, transforming it back and forth with ease and making it pull off some really dynamic poses. I even fan-moded a Gerwalk Mode out of it. It really is the most fun Alternator figure I've ever handled, and I've handled quite a fair number of that line's molds. Such a joyously great figure all around.
This is true, he was a great figure and they did a pretty good job with his proportions and hiding the rollbar. He's no substitute for a proper MP Hound, but he's definitely a great figure in his own right (as were Swindle and Rollbar by association).

I dont feel Tracks was surpassed. While MP Tracks does look way more cartoon accurate, that mold brings on a whole bunch of new problems that the alternators version didnt have.

It's related to MP Inferno. His point was that they seem to be keeping the dropped price probably because of the recent MP Inferno teaser.

I am hoping Jazz is a new and bigger MP than the BB mold to be more accurate, though, since I am not getting many MPs anyhow, a deluxe sized Jazz would be better for me. Jazz should be a new mold though than Bee and Cliff since they look so different and transform so differently.
Also, I would really want to also get an MP Glyph along with Cliffjumper. Those two I like more than BB.

You misunderstood my post on Jazz etc. If the license is/was secured, Jazz will be the size of the other cars. CJ would probably be a proportioned Porsche but in BB scale. That I'm sure of. What I meant was the license. There is still no Mitsubishi licensed cars for the MP line.

Doing a little reading around those Mitsubishi Jeep J59s were made under license from Jeep and are Frankensteined from official Jeep parts of the time. Mitsubishi stopped making Jeeps in 1998 and seem to have replaced it with an SUV line. If the Jeep license and image defaulted back to Jeep we should be just fine since Hasbro seems to have maintained a good relationship with them and their parent companies over the years. Fail that, I doubt it would be a hard license for Takara Tomy to get from a fellow Japanese company.
