Adding fuel to this rumor fire is another Facebook post, this time from Transformers Asia, saying that something is
"Coming this December
More information will follow soon"
This message is accompanied with a picture of the word "Shattered" over broken glass. Hmmmm...
Check out the image below!
So what do you think? Is it legit? Is it a very convincing digibash? Are you excited to see Shattered Glass make an entrance into the Masterpiece line? Both of these rumors are coming from Asian sources, but it's rumored to be a Hasbro product. Do you think it will ever see a U.S. release? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!

I do rather appreciate the KO for having till all are gone written on him. I do plan to eventually pick up the iGear one and the MP-10V SG if such a thing is produced too.
I would have bought the recent one but The QC is very poor on in so I need to see some more reviews and I believe there is another Factory doing one anyway.
The Bape's in Voyager form would be a delight too - I'll have to see if I can swing a source to get this - it really is a bit of a social embarrassment that I don't have a proper MP-01 or MP-10 at all of any colour... The joke being that I'd still likely buy the KO's over the real ones anyway as I think they are better decorated and I appreciate the larger and smaller size options.
I don't know if that Customiser who some how or other made Mini-MP-10 (like deluxe size or smaller) is ever going to get them manufactured or not.
Besides I still have a lot of AOE Optimus KO's to chase too (especially the little Deluxe/Voyager one & the Overscale of the Face swapping one).

Plus it means that characters that don't have an obvious redeco - like say, Jazz - to offset the production price mean they do have an obvious redeco now so they're more likely to be made. Bring it on tbh.

I'm not so sure; they sometimes skimp out on details like this. They even missed "til all are gone" which makes me sad...
Still, if this is true, there's always Reprolabels.

Edit: Though if they were going to include the trailer, that would have been a good place to apply the graffiti.

Jazz has Stepper and a G2 deco, plus Zoom Zoom if you want to get obscure.
Which makes me wonder why they're taking so long on Jazz. Is it a licensing issue?

What's the deal with Jackpot? I know that he shared an animated mold with Jazz.

If worse comes to worst, they could just reissue the original super-sized version of the Energon Megatron mold with a retooled head. I think that mold might scale well with the MP-10 mold.ScottyP wrote:Can't wait for a Megatron to go with this that uses the Energon Megatron design, opening the door to our new UT Masterpiece toy overlords.

Porsche is pretty weird about licensing; their exclusive video game licensing deal with EA is proof enough of that.

They could probably retool a Jackpot or Rad out of a Jazz mold.
Though they skipped a golden opportunity by not repainting Masterpiece Wheeljack into Slicer so I don't know what their feelings on Action Masters are?

I'm pretty sure super-sized Energon Megatron is way too short. The MP-10 mold is a bit taller than CW Megatron, a modern leader class figure. By weight, Energon Megatron rivals a modern leader class figure, but he's denser, and has a lot more backpack.

I would say they didn't and don't do Action Masters because American fiction and toys that never existed over there... but then I remembered the very topic of this thread

Yeah I'd be down with Super Class Energon Megatron in SG colors as a stop gap until the utopian days where an MP of it exists

I don't think just because something originated in a certain place it has to stay there there are more than one example of character leaking out of their set spots either a little bit or completely.
Sunstorm for example. White Astrotrain, Skyquake, King Atlas, Megaplex, Soundblaster, Twin Cast or Road Rage, also Crosscut, Black Shadow, Thunderwing, Straxus etc.. I don't have a problem with that something like an Auto-trooper would be a welcome addition in other places besides Animated and Kiss Players.
I'm waiting for Hasbro to "adopt" Artfire like they did Stepper (as Ricochet) and Crosscut already, Not to mention Detritus, Magnificus, Tigertrack Deepcover & Clamp Down really deserve to be woven in more to the US market too.
Conversely I'd like Takara to adopt some more Actionmaster Characters besides Banzai-Tron (Alternity) into their brands.
And both markets would be doing us a favour to do some character farming from the Euro-Japanese era too... though to be fair we do get the odd Thunderclash toy.
-------
I'm actually most surprised by the shiny paint than I am anything else about - Shattered-Optimus (I hope its not fake) not that it matters to much what with potential and existing KO already).
Bit odd that the G1 KO makers have not made a Shattered G1 Optimus yet - that seems an obvious idea to me to see done using those appropriated GiG Moulds.

Still, I find it more likely that MP SG Megatron would be a redeco of MP Megatron, or the rumoured upcoming MP 2.0 Megatron from the other day. After all, it's not exactly like any SG Optimus toy was based on the same body as the guy we're looking at here.

Yeah, but the Classics Voyager Optimus at least looks close enough to the G1 cartoon model Optimus to make a MP SG Optimus work passably enough. SG Megatron, however, was straight up Energon Megatron's body w/ G1 Megatron's Marvel colors (but not his Marvel deco color layout) and early character model head design.Kurona wrote:Jeeeez that thing's massive.

A SG Megatron made from a MP Megatron would essentially be just a Marvel-esque colored G1 Megatron with a translucent blue fusion cannon, which isn't close enough.
If any MP mold were to be made into a SG Megatron, a yet-to-be-made MP Galvatron mold with a new headsculpt would work much better, since the Energon Megatron mold was an obvious G1 Galvatron homage.

Looks like BBTS is taking preorders on it. Maybe one day, you too; can see your fanfiction come to life.
But let's face it - it means more uses out of every available mold, so that's cash.

They're both mp-10 - just not necessarily in name. They both use the mp-10 mold and are colored nearly identically to represent the same character

Why would we be comparing a Hasbro release of the mold to a Takara one?
Because it does make a difference to some Masterpiece collectors. First of all the colors are noticeably different on the two and unless they changed something the smokestacks are shorter on the Hasbro version. Some people (myself included) want to keep Masterpiece collections consistent in both manufacturer and packaging style. I only have a few Masterpiece figures but I plan on getting more and they'll all be Takara. I prefer the look of the Takara boxes and want it to be the same throughout my entire collection.

I get that, but then what is the use of discussing that in a thread about the release of a Hasbro Masterpiece figure?

Thats like saying G1 Prowl isnt a different character from Smokescreen, just a repaint.
This release represents a different character, here is his quick bio:
Optimus Prime is the sadistic, tyrannical leader of the evil Autobots, a cruel and ambitious villain whose plans fall nothing short of universal conquest.

It is, by definition, a completely different character. It's like saying Thundercracker's the same character as Starscream because he's just a repaint.
All the seekers being the same character, now there's a thought...

Shattered glass prime is a vastly different character from g1 prime - that's like saying g1 prime and g1 megs have the same character - they don't, not even remotely
