Hi Michael, I am sorry for the delay in responding. I have checked with a colleague who specializes in Transformers. He has confirmed that the Masterpiece Soundwave line will be sold in Australia through Toys-R-Us, but not until July 2013. They are expected to sell in Toys-R-Us from July to September. Kind regards, Hasbro Consumer Services

Acid Storm.
A green Starscream redeco, to add to the Masterpiece seeker squadron.
Priced at AU$100, it is $20 more than Thundercracker... so could have a similar price increase in America.
Considering how many Masterpiece toys are coming out of Japan at the moment, I was not expecting Hasbro to release one that Japan hasn't done (yet).
Acid Storm was a classic-verse toy/character that didn't get released in Japan either, so maybe this MP toy is a Hasbro exclusive as well.

Also seems weird that a customer service rep would just give out this kind of info.

I just don't get why Hasbro would bother with a character that isn't really all that popular.
I wonder if they would release a sunstorm, if this is true.
I am excited about soundwave!!!
You think hasbro would give us laserbeak and ravage? as opposed to takaras soundwave. Which just comes with laserbeak.

Acid Storm I can care less about, I'm done with MP Seekers unless I can score myself a Ghost Starscream some day.

If it only have some nice diecast parts, but for a hollow, light weight piece of plastic that only comes with one cassette, I was thinking really hard on giving up my money or let it pass.

I couldn't care less about Acid Storm. Masterpieces are too expensive for me to buy many of, and since I already have Thundercracker, I have no desire to spend another $80 on a repaint of the same mold.

I think what happened with the MP-10 will happen with Soundwave, short supplies, insane mark ups, and scalpers driving collectors insane with secondary market prices. Yea good luck to those trying to get the US MP Soundwave. (your gonna need it.)
Why do you assume that? Yes, they screwed up distribution of the new MP Optimus, but Thundercracker has not been hard to find, and past Masterpieces like Rodimus and Grimlock were in plentiful supply. OP seems to be the exception, so I'm not sure why you would assume that to be the standard.

Lango7 wrote:Thought I would share my experience finding Hasbro’s version of MP 10. Hopefully it gives some hope to people, since the topic is flooded with pessimists. Back in September I missed the first preorder and I was pissed, because I saw how quickly those preorders wound up on eBay. That made me determined not to buy from a scalper on eBay. I decided to start following the sightings forum on Seibertron. Once I heard Prime was in stores, I started calling. After a week I found three. The first one the guy at TRU would not hold it for me, not sure why (he was kind of an ass on phone.) The two other stores were willing to hold him for a few days. Once I picked one up (100+tax) I released the other one. For a few weeks I checked back on TRU’s site and saw that Prime was restocked a few more times. I even posted it to Seibertron to let people know. In December I saw 3 more in stores. Of course my TRU had marked them up to 149 by then, but it was still cheaper than a scalper. Anyway, the point is you just have to spend a little leg time to find what you want at the price you want. My advice is to just call around or check the site regularly. With a little patience and persistence you will be able to find Soundwave.
none of that should be necessary. that seems like a whole lot of hassle to me.
i preordered my soundwave from bbts when it was first put up for preorder, so my order came to $169 with shipping and everything. i'm sure hasbro will release it at $80 or so.. probably more if you consider how high their prices have been rising so quickly. so spending the extra $70 to have it 6 or 7 months early, and the peace of mind of knowing i wont have worry about beating a scalper to a store or having to call each toys r us in my area a bunch of times in the morning is well worth it to me.
but hey, more power to the people who want to save their money but waste their time. lol kidding.
i'm also curious to see how different soundwave will look.. if at all.

and just because the AU get's a 20$ increase, doesn't mean we will.
This will be less the MP-10 at TRU.
Acid Storm? bitching, out of left field, and a different seeker for once.
I'm cool.
Holy hell this year is MP driven for sure.
Good thing, because Beast Hunters is garbage, and I don't want to get bored.

Now Acid Storm is interesting, what could be running through Hasbro's mind? Or maybe it's actually a future TakaraTomy item sharing MP Soundwave's fate.

I'm trying to understand your logic.
You said that Acid Storm would "kill the chances of Hasbro making MP Skywarp." First of all, how can you kill the chances of something that already happened? And second, that would seem to imply that you believe there WAS a chance that Hasbro would be making another MP Skywarp in the near future. Even if Hasbro HADN'T made a MP Skywarp recently, I still don't see how making Acid Storm would "kill" any chance of them making Skywarp. Hasbro made MP Starscream and Skywarp, and that didn't stop them from following up with Thundercracker. Thundercracker didn't stop them from making Acid Storm (if this rumor is true). So why would Acid Storm suddenly kill any chance of Skywarp?

He's greedy for Skywarp and wants all of us to pay the price for another MP Skywarp to clog the pegs for months like the last time he saw fruition.

Like myself and many others, I think he wants a Skywarp in the new MP-11 mold. Has that happened yet? No.
Besides, what chances do Skywarp have of making it to Wal-Mart at this point? MPs have been TRU Exclusives for the last 4 releases (Grimlock, Rodimus, Thundercracker, Optimus) with much greater success. We have Starscream and Thundercracker in the new mold. It's only natural that some fans would want Skywarp to follow.
Acid Storm might delay Skywarp by virtue of being another version of that mold. Not that I mind too much. I love MP-11 molded seekers. I'm excited for Acid Storm, if true. Now I just need MP-11S Sunstorm to go on clearance at BBTS/TFsource already...

To be honest I like having the older skwarp mold...it makes him look more young/immature compared to the mp-11 molds. Some uniqueness on the shelf compared to a string of inevitable seeker repaints our buddies at Has/Tak will gladly provide us with.
By now I just call it seeker syndrome, they will all come with time lol.

This, except the feelings about MP Seekers.
The more the better I say. Soon we will have our fleet of seekers to rain terror down on the Autobots .
Seriously though, Hasbro must include all the tapes, or we will NEVER SEE THEM. I say that if MP 13 occupies the same price slot as MP 10, we SHOULD get the other tapes. The tapes are also the size of the old G1 cassettes so this is not like we are asking much.
If anyone of importance is looking at this thread, make it so. I mean you have a great chance at trolling the community with Rumble and Frenzy ALONE. throwing in Buzzsaw and Ravage won't hurt either.

Here's the description.
You are bidding on an absolutely awesome Custom Transformers Masterpiece Acid Storm, one of the three legendary Transformer rainmaker seekers and the only one able to not only withstand but control the ability of acid rain to melt and corrode any material unfortunate enough to come in contact with him, Acidstorm is not one decepticon to be messed around with!!! basing myself on a concept created some time ago, Acidstorm was customized with the highest quality automotive grade lacquer paint available and was modified on his hips to remove that undesirable hip kibble which when fixed not only gives him a more complete and streamlined appearance but better poseability not possible before! Acidstorm was also heavily modified his wings into a new batwing like shape to give him a more menacing look that sets him apart from his seeker brethren, and utilizing a unique method, I was able to replicate a truly awe- inspiring three dimensional acidic corrosion effect across his body, wings and tailfins with the added benefit of awesome glow in the dark effects to really give a warning message to any autobot that dares come close! just charge it up with exposure to light and watch his menacing effect glow! he was given several washes with high quality acrylics to bring out detail on panel lines in his body and circuitry details and was also applied with a subtle camo effect on his body that might not be so apparent in the pictures, then again it wouldn't be camo if it wasn't subtle! lol. Finally he was sealed throughout his painting process with Krylon UV resistant matte finish for a very durable and very long lasting paint job, although while Acidstorm is fully transformable, VERY careful and limited transformation must be done to keep the paint from chipping or scratching, making this figure ideal for responsible adult collectors only. Figure measures about 9-10 inches tall in scale withothermasterpiece and leader class figures, comes 100% complete with instructions as well as custom painted null rays, missiles and base.

IIRC, they've only done this with 3 MP figures:
MP02, 04 (both at Target) and very oddly, Ghost Starscream (at TRU)
All other MP's: G1 Starscream, Grimlock, Rodimus w/Offshoot, MP10 and MP11 mold Thundercracker have had the Hasbro/US packaging. And considering TRU is the only mainstream/big-box retailer offering MP's, it's a sure bet that whatever the US will get, so will they.

It's not limited to MP's. DotM Jetwing Optimus Prime was released in Australia a week before his exclusive Japanese release, in TakaraTomy packaging. It's by no means an abandoned practice.

So the logic is if an Acid Storm MP sells shitty (likely), there's little chance of Hasbro and TRU doing the MP-11 mold Skywarp next. But if TRU was willing to take Acid Storm, they probably woulda been equally willing to take Skywarp...because WTH is Acid Storm to them?

2) This line is too much of a cash cow. Whether it's a year or a couple more years down the road, logic dictates that either Takara or Hasbro will make a Masterpiece SW. If we have Sideswipe -> Red Alert -> Tigertracks -> ????? and Prowl -> Smokescreen -> Bluestreak -> ???? , then it's fair game that Takara's Starscream -> Sunstorm -> Skywarp, or Hasbro's Thundercracker -> Acid Storm -> Skywarp are possible paths. Good molds and money compliment each other all too nicely.
