Trikeboy wrote:Why has Arlin covered the head of the toy in all pics but not the one on the front of the box? It even states Megatron many times. Why go to the trouble of putting the watermark right over the head?
I was wondering about that too.
Trikeboy wrote: Oh, this also destroys the Galvatron rumor that has been going round too.
Yea that almost kind of sucks cause it would make sense since he was "killed" in the first movie that if he came back, he might not be completely the same. There still seems to be a lot of name issues though, I dont see how they can call the Audi Sideways when it has WAY too much similarity in design as Barricade. There has to be some story plot that has to go with that. Calling Megatron Galvatron wouldn't be a far stretch though [maybe to non-fans though]

Despite how much I like how this looks however, I sadly won't be buying it.

Is that an improvement?

Hes cannibalized from other decepticons, he has some power from the allspark, ya'know, in his chest? It allso reads that he now has the power to destroy optimus prime and begin the conquest of the universe.
Is this the last march of Optimus Prime? I certainly hope not.
They did good on the wheel/leg things. Wonder why the head was bloched out though. Could be a spoiler perhaps?
Only time will tell my fellow Seibertronians.

I probably won't be getting the leader class version, I've only got a few movie figures and to be honest, I'd rather collect Universe (except maybe movie sideswipe)...If I see the legends version of this, I'll definitely get it though...would be fun to have it crushing Micro Machines on my desk like a GTA rampage.

The whole wheel feet concept is getting a bit tiresome though.

From the package photo, I'm not really a fan of the alt mode,
but the bot mode looks more than good enough so far.

I think actually the Autobots retrieved Jazz's torn body parts at the end of the movie remember? I remember Ratchet holding his body and telling Prime that it is not reparable.

Those designers have to go. That really gets on my nerves too.

Maybe on his comeback his voice is altered and more metallic and angrier, you know? I wish it would be Frank Welker doing his original voice this time, he is mighty Megatron.

If I remember correctly, Frank Welker is voicing in this movie this time around and when i heard that and the fact that Megatron might comeback i immediatly thought Frank would do Meg's damaged voice. It makes sense..

I really hope it will be him! I really want to hear Frank Welker in the movie. Even if it wasn't Megatron or Soundwave but another character, he is really excelent and I want to hear him doing some character! But of course, especially Megatron and Soundwave . His absence was my big disapointment on the 1st movie... I'm not saying I didn't like the movie or Hugo's performance though, I liked, but was disapointed that it wasn't our dear Frank Welker, the mighty Megatron, Soundwave, Skywarp, Rumble, etc.

Yes! At least we get some details!
Crossfire56 wrote:I know this may not be strictly related or even the reply you were expecting for such a topic, but...Am I the only one getting a weird sense of deja vu from Megatron's new alt-mode? Hmmmm....You know what it looks like? The Rhino tank from Grand Theft Auto Vice City!
Actually, I thought it was more like Galvatron's alt mode...
Prime's Trailer wrote:The whole wheel feet concept is getting a bit tiresome though.
They've mis-transformed his feet on the box art. If you look at the pics on the forum there's pic of his actual FOOT. I'm much happier about that. I'm not happy that he only has one articulated finger though... I hope his head can turn.
Posted by zero-kaiser on February 22nd, 2009 @ 1:28pm CST
I only hope Megatron has stable feet, a turning head and decent joints/poseability..
Cant wait to see more of this guy out of the box
I wonder if the LEDs in his chest and head are gunna be red though?...

Compared to the awesome job they did on Optimus, it's like they didn't even try.

lol, I was about to post the same thing, "Grab my strong hand". I appreciate that someone has the same dumb humor as me.

Swiftpaw wrote:Finally, a proper cannon for Megatron, none of this stupid combining arms crap. I don't feel so bad about not having gotten the first movie's version now. Not that I felt bad before because I really didn't like that one's design.
This figure is significantly better than the last Megatron. It's got a proper fusion cannon and looks a lot bulkier. I don't understand the fuss about the small arm. He's still not completely repaired, but obviously doesn't want to wait around to get a bigger arm, because he doesn't need it.

I was really hoping they would nail the Leader-class Megatron mold, and make something really wicked looking - this certainly does not disappoint! Shame I can't see the head sculpt though... if they ruin that, it could easily ruin an otherwise brilliant looking figure.

Going against the crowd here - I like the asymmetrical form. Megatron was originally asymmetrical (with his gun barrel on his back to one side) and I am a huge fan of Beast Wars, where symmetry is the exception.
Really adds to the zombie factor.
