This release will look identical to the previous release, as has been the case with previous Hasbro Asia reissues like Masterpiece Optimus Prime and Soundwave, and includes the fixed knees we saw in that reissue. With the original release, the knees were practically guaranteed to break but the listing states that this release does not have that issue. Several retailers on Taobao are already taking preorders and require a deposit. This toy will probably also show up at domestic collectable vendors as well as it appears to not be exclusive, nor a limited production run.
Here is a description from the listing:
The reissue revised the problem of easy knee fracture. The commemorative coins need to be confirmed by official shipments.
Estimated arrivals around the fourth quarter of 2018 (according to the actual arrival time)
For those less acquainted with this toy, here are a few images from our Seibertron gallery. Click on any image to be taken to the full gallery.
Optimus Prime not included

I have both releases, and how I'd describe the reissue is "slightly better". But they certainly didn't "fix" all the joint issues. He's just as terrifying to handleTankedThomas wrote:All the issues with the joints were fixed on the original reissue. Stop spreading misinformation - only the original releases had these problems. The reissue had other problems such as the mismatched trailer colour and still had some paint-rubbing issues, but the joints were fixed.

It would have been much nicer to let us know of any corrections by simply contacting us rather than writing hateful speech like the following you wrote elsewhere:
Even those morons on Seibertron are spreading misinformation, saying the knees are guaranteed to break, even though they fixed that and the ankles with the reissue.

So this would make 3 of them that I'll have?! Excellent. If it's not MP36 price I'll probably get it. PLEASE BE UNDER $200USD!!!!

I have been waiting a while for this to happen.
Looks like some funds will have to be set aside for 4th quarter for him.

Has this been confirmed beyond some Chinese blog?

Nathaniel Prime wrote:Finally we can get a decent version of a figure who looked good in all 4(?) modes. Takara's was plagued with issues and Hasbro's wasn't any different either.
Well it was different in that they cheeped out on us and didn't give us the trailer.

It was the black redeco, MP-9B Black Rodimus Convoy, that reportedly had constantly breaking knees right off the bat:
TFWiki wrote:Several collectors have reported one or more of the upper knee joints on this figure cracking after the first transformation. Typically this is a result of the knee joint being cracked at the top of the ratchet joint while still in the package. Once this joint is moved into some of the more extreme positions, like those required for transformation, it will then snap in two places. The brittle nature of the joint and the painted sockets are most likely to blame for the initial cracking.
The original release had other problems, with the more significant ones bolded:
TFWiki wrote:Unfortunately, Masterpiece Rodimus has suffered from numerous quality control issues, which vary from figure to figure. Commonly reported problems include fragile leg panels which break off with ease, the inability of the figure to hold its guns due to shallow peg-holes which conflict with the bending angle of his hands, the springs within the figure's ankles becoming unwound, and the spoiler/backpack assembly refusing to clip into place.
The second run fixed them if I may add, but that's not the end of the misery. The breaking shoulders are mostly found on the Hasbro release, but I seem to remember the Takara one suffering that to a lesser extent. Can anyone verify that?

Black Hat wrote:Neat! I'd rather we got a "dedicated" Rodimus Prime MP that ditched the evolution gimmick now we have a standalone Hot Rod, but still, he looks good and if he's fixed the issues with the joints then that's a winner.
Rodimus is a character I also hoped they would revisit with a new figure that just focuses on him being Rodimus Prime (Convoy) rather than try to jam 4 modes into one mold. If the price is right, I will probably pick him up so Magnus & Hot Rod will have some company on my post movie masterpiece shelf.

Is there any precedent where there was a (MP?) figure that had major QC issues, and was later reissued with those issues fixed?

There are some examples in the form of running changes for later waves at least, but those fixes never takes away the total fear of getting a lemon, or even it turning really sour in the long run.

Yes, this exact figure. The first issue had problems, and the reissue fixed some. This reissue has the same fixes as the previous one.
Also, the latest MP Hot Rodimus targetmaster fixed the chrome issue of the previous MP Hot Rodimus.

I haven't heard any complaints about the most recent Ultra Magnus re-release's knees breaking either.

There were issues with the part holding the knee ratchet in place being too weak and giving out causing the knee to become floppy.

Not everything reissued by Hasbro Asia ends up on BBTS. It was confirmed the day we newsed it and can currently be preordered on taobao.

Its all Chinese, Takara and Japan are not involved in this.
Anyways, you could click here and then try google translate to see if you could write to the seller

If it really is a Hasbro Asia exclusive it should turn up at least on Robot Kingdom eventually, right? There's a bunch of sellers on TaoBao offering it now so it should be getting a wide release in China.

I never had problems with my MP-09 Masterpiece Rodimus Prime either. The Nemesis Rodimus though ... that was a different story altogether, and I was able to finally fix that with some replacement parts on eBay that were readily available a couple of years ago.

It's Hasbro Asia reissuing it, and yes the listing from Chinese sellers mentions the fixed knees.
But I dont think any of the other issues aside from that will be fixed.
