I really hope it doesn't mean Impactor is just an Ironhide retool and comes with the same hammer in Magnus white and blue. Would they really include two different giant hammers in the same line? Doesn't seem likely.

Didn’t the first Galvatron toy concept “evolve” from megatron to Galvatron? I’d like to see that toy become reality because for a G1 toy it looked pretty sweet.

It could mean that they reffer to the fact that in Prime, Magnus was a wrecker and used a hammer. He didnt have a hammer in G1 (when he wasnt a wrecker) so maybe thats it. Still a wired thing to say.

Because he’s usually always affiliated with them. Who knows maybe his packaging bio states he’s leader of them back on Cybertron.

They did it in prime. First Magnus came with a gun that tuned into a hammer and voyager Magnus cane with the forge of Solus and that giant weaponizer did too.
If a gimmick of the line is gun turning into melee weapon there’s not too many options. Axe, sword, spear knife and hammer.

Because the Aligned version of Ultra Magnus was leader of the Wreckers and wielded a hammer. Plus a hammer is the main part of the Wreckers insignia.william-james88 wrote:Why wreckers fans?

I can't believe I've never noticed that hammer in the insignia before.
My only excuse is I just don't spend that much time on the fiction, and we don't have a ton of toys sporting that badge.

I'm still just really happy about Cog. HasTak making him saves me from having to make one myself, and he even comes with a G1-accurate gun for Cerebros. The one knock against him is that his other gun is in fact also Cerebros' gun and not his own gun, but that's very much outweighed by the good points.

That was not the first Galvatron toy concept. Galvatron's first toy concepts were taken directly from his initial movie design, as with every other new-mold TFTM character (and he would never have been planned to have a Walther mode; US retailers were souring on realistic gun toys by the time 1986 rolled around). That's a later design concept by someone who also conceived of a Megatron-Skywarp triple changer, and it would have been a Japan-only toy.
Also, that's not an evolution gimmick so much as straight-up triple changing

Really? I cover lots of fiction, being staff for this site, and the only time I saw him associated to them was in Prime.
There may be another instance but i highly doubt its a usual affiliation. Definitely not in the G1 lore i am familiar with.

I believe Magnus may have been leader of the Wreckers at one point in the UK G1 Marvel comic.

Also Magnus ferried the Wreckers to Garrus-9 in his ship in Last Stand, before dropping them off and pretending he didn't know how many bots they were about to kill. He kinda served as counsel for Springer in those first two parts, conferring with him about Impactor's return and Ironfist's condition, so there's that. Granted, they did that partly because of his involvement in the Marvel UK comic, but it still happened.
Although he wasn't involved in any of the combat in that series, so that doesn't really help connect 'Magnus Hammer' with 'Wreckers', it just connects Magnus himself with them.

8" to the top of his shoulders puts him at around 7.5" head height. Most Leaders tend be over 9", sometimes hovering just under 10". On the bright side that means the inner Magnus should be the same size as Voyager Prime. So they weren't all talk when they said bot scale matters this time around. What he loses in size he makes up for in complexity and part count and I'm OK with that.

Hm... Interesting idea, and if they are downsizing the Leader class figures (which I'm all for, never did care for the size because it always felt too big to me) and adding some extra pieces, maybe they're using the extra budget for other gimmicks to come back like the lights and sounds. Personally though, I'd love if they did a Shockwave that was slightly modular were he could replace parts of himself to give himself different vehicle modes with the base being a laser cannon. Like, switch out his arms and legs and he can become a tank with a massive turret, or maybe give him a spider tank like his Cyberverse self. Or even, dare I dream, give him shorter arms, legs, and, a new head and you can get a deluxe class Longarm! Who turns into a slightly smaller laser cannon because... Reasons . Doubt my silly idea for Shockwave being modular would be a thing, especially cause it's definitely not G1, but I'm all for older gimmicks coming back

Just about every noteworthy iteration of the Wreckers has had ties to Ultra Magnus, with the BotCon Beast Era Wreckers and the DOTM Wreckers being the most notable exceptions.william-james88 wrote:Randomhero wrote:william-james88 wrote:Why wreckers fans?

The very first version of the Wreckers, from the Marvel UK comics, saw Ultra Magnus as not a member of the Wreckers but as a very close associate of them, as he was to have been their secret weapon in a carefully laid out plan called Operation: Volcano. But when he was called away to Earth on a mission of great urgency (investigating the sudden disappearance of Optimus Prime), Operation: Volcano had to proceed without him, with the Autobot Triple Changers Springer, Sandstorm, and Broadside teaming up with the Wreckers in his place, andd officially joining the team shortly afterward, following the death of the Wreckers' leader Impactor, whom Springer succeeded as the team's new leader. Magnus continued to work alongside the Wreckers during several later missions as well, though, never actually being a part of their unit.
In the present day setting of the Dreamwave comics, Ultra Magnus was officially the leader of the Wreckers, having succeeded Springer after the Triple Changers had left the group at some point prior. We'll never know anything more about their having left the Wreckers due to Dreamwave having folded back when it did.
In IDW's comics, though Magnus again wasn't a member (like in the Marvel UK comics), he did provide them transport for them both to and from Garrus-9, a decision likely made by Roberts and Milne as a tribute to his close relation to the team as seen back in Marvel UK.
In the media brought to life via the Binder of Revelation, Ultra Magnus is officially the leader of the Wreckers, just like his Dreamwave G1 counterpart. The Exodus novel even establishes him as owning a hammer as his personal weapon, while the Prime cartoon would instead depict him as hammerless following his arrival on Earth and using the energy-drained Forge of Solus Prime as a new hammer weapon for himself.
And, heh, while not a notable version, Angry Birds Transformers had its version of the Wreckers including Ultra Magnus.

Well there have been rumours of a new Roadbuster and Whirl but even if those prove untrue we would still have a mostly-complete Wrecker lineup if we go back to T30 and TR as these had Roadbuster, Whirl, Springer, Sandstorm, Broadside and the Jumpstarter brothers. Meaning that the only guys left at this point are Rack & Ruin and Impactor. And we know Impactor is coming.

I feel like saying that we only have those three(?) left is kinda subjective, and depends on who you consider to be the full Wreckers lineup. I would still argue that we're missing Ironfist, Guzzle, Rotorstorm, and Leadfoot, for example. Maybe they could make a Leadfoot from the Mirage mold...
Also, as cool as that digibash is, aren't they supposed to be conjoined, and what would they turn into?

Rack'n'Ruin never transformed in the original Marvel UK comics, and were permanently stuck together is said comics. According to the origin given for them in the "Transformers: The Facts" booklet that came included with the 200th Marvel UK issue, they used to turn into Cybertronian mini-jets, but their being surgically joined together in an desperate operation that saved their lives made transformation impossible for them to do anymore.AllNewSuperRobot wrote:Nemesis Primal wrote:Also, as cool as that digibash is, aren't they supposed to be conjoined, and what would they turn into?
