This same image now appears on Hasbro's main Transformers website. What is extremely peculiar though, and this was broght to our atention by 0autobot0, is that even if the image has Rook as a limb, the breakdown of the "bots" is the following:
Blades, Groove, Hotspot, Streetwise and Firstaid.
Yes, indeed, Groove is the autobot described. Selecting Groove gives you new art as well for each mode.
This can all be simply related to fiction and as a description of G1 Defensor, who always had Groove as part of his team. Then again, the designation of this character as "deluxe" does reference the fact that he is a toy too.
It is still interesting to note that this is the team up according to the official Transformers site and that there is an awful lot of attention given to a character who doesn't have a deluxe toy out from Hasbro.
Feel free to speculate the significance of this on the boards!

In the above pics, Groove has his G1 robot and vehicle modes instead of his CW ones.
Hot Spot has his CW robot mode but his GDO vehicle mode.
Blades and Streetwise each have their CW robot modes but their G1 vehicle modes.
And First Aid apparently has no vehicle mode.
Additionally...

Alpha Bravo and Powerglide are counted among the Aerialbots, but Powerglide can't transform. And Silverbolt has his Universe Ultra class robot mode with more yellows added.
http://transformers.hasbro.com/en-us/co ... rs/menasor
Dead End is WFC Dead End in robot mode and CW Dead End in vehicle mode, Motormaster has his G1 robot mode and his CW truck mode, Breakdown has his TFSS robot mode and his CW vehicle mode, Offroad is Dead End in robot mode (has the correct vehicle mode, though), and Blackjack is included but can't transform.
http://transformers.hasbro.com/en-us/co ... devastator
Mixmaster has his mixer drum split open like shelled wings in robot mode and has his G1 altmode, Long Haul has his G1 robot mode, and both Bonecrusher and Scavenger remind me more of some of their 3rd party toys in robot mode.
http://transformers.hasbro.com/en-us/co ... us-maximus
Sunstreaker is Universe Sunstreaker in both modes, Mirage has his Classics vehicle mode, Optimus is MP-10 in both modes, Prowl has his Universe vehicle mode, and Ironhide has his Universe vehicle mode.
Nice goin, Hasbro.

Screw Groove, give me that awesome looking Mixmaster. That is a great design!
But yeah, it looks like its just a hodge podge of team members using comissioned art from artists who didnt have a solid unifying vision.

He sure is. I just got my UW Deffy and loooove Groove. But on my shelf he'll perpetually be some big dudes shin, so I started looking for a loose one to have by himself, but no luck. If Hasby does release Deluxe Groove, I'll be quite happy. But as evidence suggests, that's doesn't seem to be the case...TFBuyer wrote:Sort of hoping we DO get a deluxe from Hasbro, because that Warriors Unite Groove is impossible to find alone!

TFBuyer wrote:Sort of hoping we DO get a deluxe from Hasbro, because that Warriors Unite Groove is impossible to find alone! I'll put this up there with my wish for proper Computron combiner limbs and a new Computron head.
But we are getting computron limbs including one of them that is a retooled deluxe groove. The jury is still out on computron head though it could be new or it could be the one from betatron

I fixed your post for you.
And this isn't any kind of confirmation that we are getting a deluxe Groove. It's just a hodgepodge of pictures from uncoordinated people. And go ahead and get Rook, as he's a pretty good figure.

All I really wanted was Sky Lynx, so I'll get Liokaiser instead (or whatever English name they give him).
Hasbro does not have the budget to change it.
At least it's not that noticeable and painted over.

you got to admit though that even though there are quite a few oddities (or errors) with the images, all of the team members for every other G1 combiner is correct except for Defensor. Both Superion and Menasor feature all 6 of their current members while Defensor doesn't. Groove isn't even shown as a chest plate in the art while Blackjack is.
Does it mean anything, possibly not, but for those that skipped out on UW there could be hope.

He wants Groove as a deluxe limb.

I think the only reason they didnt put out an online exclusive wave for groove like they did with quickslinger and brakeneck is because they would've had to do solid cases of ONLY groove back then. but now there's a new revised mold for another character (unite warriors Blast-Off) they'll put out another 50:50 case of those 2.
Thats my theory and I'm betting the farm on it.

Or that TT got to pay Hb some cash for a certain period exclusivity. Like what they also do with certain video console games.

I think this is what happened - or something close to it;
I could see TT throwing a temper tantrum when hasbro wanted to do a legends Groove, which led to TT wanting to do a deluxe Groove, which led to one of them wondering who they could remold bigroove into, which led to Computron, which led to needing a drill tank, which led to needing a second use of said drill tank, which led to Liokaiser, which led to a convenient use of all three new molds in one combiner, which led to hasbro going, ' '

I'll give you a rundown:Burn wrote:I don't even know what's going on in here at the moment, too much reading to catch up on.
- Hasbro put a bunch of old Legends mobile game artwork on their site for a new Combiner Wars section that just lists each member of some combiner teams.
- Said artwork depicts several of the characters in bodies that resemble non-CW toys.
- The Defensor entry of this Combiner Wars section erroneously listed Groove as a limb for CW Defensor despite the accompanying toy image of Defensor showing Rook in Groove's place, along with Legends class Groove on Defensor's chest not being recognized by the new section.
- Someone saw this error, mistook it for a possibility of Hasbro releasing Takara's Deluxe class Groove, and alerted the news staff.
- The error got posted as news when it really isn't.
- and now some people are thinking that this is a sign of Hasbro releasing Deluxe Groove.
- Also, some random things about Prowl, Sky Reign's early working name of "Lynx King" (carried over from a previous news post), something about a civil war, and... Community references, apparently.
