If you go on the Transformers section of the website Toy Adventures, you will see a banner for the Transformers Generations line. While the banner does not reflect the Siege line per se, it does feature a character we have not seen yet in the Generations line, which looks like a mix of Huffer and Pipes. We will let you handle the speculation from here on out, but keep in mind that this may be a design that was planned for a previous Generations subline and never saw the light of day. It is odd though that it features so prominently on the site, whenever Transformers are mentioned, leading to several different styles of the banner/art. All of them can be seen below.

UPDATE:
It turns out it's just Sovereign, Alpha Trion's titan master. It's a coloured pic of Marcello Matere's concept pencils.

For some reason my first thought was Micromaster Overload. Not sure why or what gimmick he and that trailer base would fit into though, unless they go with a Weaponizer theme and channel the Armada design of Overload turning into the head and neck of a larger robot that also turns into guns and a backpack.

I'm not seeing Huffer or Pipes. My first thought was a weaponizer gun. The lit up part of his chest reminds me of the posts from Blowpipe and the other Siege weaponizer guns.

Well, that absolutely looks like some variety of Micromaster, but I have little to no knowledge or interest regarding Micromasters and therefore have no idea if he's a pre-existing one or not.

Although that doesn't appear to be what it is, I agree that Weaponizer Overload would be amazing, Flashwave.

...or maybe, because of his backpack, he's the hinted-at hammer Battlemaster?

UM having the ubiquitous butt flap in his MP and now Sg verisoin reminds me of those 18th Century military uniforms. Maybe they were the inspiration for Floro Dery?

Maybe he's a Micromaster intended for something bigger than the Legends price point: main micromaster of a playset? :-?

Yea its the TR version of godbomber and ginrai im after. Think i'll get the siege on cybertron boxset to get ginrai. they're not bad prices on ebay. Seems really odd they should do a robot that's half way between pipes and huffer when everything else in the line is so G1.

Personally it reminds me of a powermaster, but I can't think of a powermaster in those colors, and either way proper powermasters haven't been done since the originals so who knows. :SG-CONS:

Detail-wise, this dude bears a resemblance to the Dreamwave MTMTE profile artwork of the G1 Powermaster Slapdash's little partner Lube, but the colors don't match at all.

Image

The colors are a bit evocative of those of Lube's Japanese-only Masterforce Warrior redeco Bullet, but the color layout is different.

Image

It's possible that it's a Titan Master design that ultimately went unused.

Also, the image was allegedly uploaded a year ago.

I've already sold off my Botcon Reflector, Classics Prime and few other to make way for Siege.

I quite like the Space Guns into Submarines (or psuedo space ships) idea.

I'm even looking forward Bed Soundwave from Siege.

This doesn't look much like Huffer.

Coincidentally, I've been wondering if we'll see proper Huffer & Gears anytime soon. They are two of the few Autobots to still not have an official figure close enough to their character-models. Who will get there first -- the Masterpiece line or CHUG? 8-)
Both characters have interesting designs, with some almost "Goboty" elements.

Was T30 Gears not close enough, or just not recent enough/hard to find? I thought he was a pretty good representation of Gears.

william-james88 wrote:As for the Star Convoy discussion, we have had quite a bit of him. He is the only toy from that line that was ever rereleased and you can own an original for pretty cheap because of that. Plus, not only was that white CW Prime a Star Convoy homage, but so was TR Prime, sporting the same details on his chest and having his legs made up of his trailer. Plus, the whole trailer turning into legs, which Star Convoy started, was the basis for every Prime toy in the RID line.

Eeeehh, we've had a lot of homages, but I want to see a full on remake. I've got the Star Convoy reissue and he's one of the biggest brick in the entire Transformers line and long overdue for a proper update. The CW Battle Core Prime head was just that, a head (and also used as a Monopoly piece). TR Prime was a tribute in color only, they couldn't even be bothered to use the alternate Star Convoy head sculpt, and the transformation was entirely incidental due to the figure being an Octone pre-tool. It's time for a true "return of Convoy".

And wow, that looks nothing the Sovereign we actually got which was a homage to Safeguard/Root/Beta Maxx.

At first I honestly thought that art was of a screwy version of Krunk.

My problem was that he was an obvious repaint (pre-paint?) of a Brawn figure we never got. Plus he never showed up in stores around me and was hard to find a good price by the time I realized he wasn't showing up. So I, too, would like to see them take a second shot at him as well as Huffer, Pipes and a few others.

So... stupid question... If the Battlemasters are filling the $5-6 titanmaster slot, are the Micromaster pairs filling the $10-12 scout class slot? As much as I love Micromasters and minicons, that feels like a rip off.

Yes unfortunately. I loved the legends figures we have been getting, and really don't care for the micromasters that much (too simple for my tastes). I'll cherry pick a few to buy, but will pass on most of them.

Dang. You'd think for the $10 pricepoint they could stick a third MM in the package like the old Armada Minicon teams.

Ah, I guess the Horrorcons are not in the cards. Titans Return would have been perfect for them, especially over characters that weren't originally Headmasters, like the other Triple Changers. And it still kind of bums me out that the three Decepticon Targetmasters are also Headmasters.

I wonder if their Autobot counterparts will be made, now that Hasbro has put some emphasis on weapons.

I wouldnt disagree. Those who bought the Takara TR products were ok with the added Targetmaster costing them an extra 5$ but I am surprised Hasbro saw that as a price everyone was willing to pay.

I would not pay $5 for any of the Battle Masters in their own. With the included Fire Blasts, though, I'm planning to get all of them. The unique play and display options of this play pattern provide extra value, especially because the Fire Blast parts are exclusive to the Battle Masters products.

I'm not sure if it'll be successful, but I'm all in.

The Legends target masters were a little bigger than TM's, and :TAKARATOMY: seemed to equate them to a full Titan Master with vehicle (though it was technically less you were getting for your money). Thus I guess :HASBRO: reasoned, if you added another chunk of molded plastic (much cheaper and easier to produce) than an actual mini vehicle, I guess that's how they could justify it.

Yeah, that was discussed by Scotty P on the most recent Podcast. What I find odd though is that you only get 1 fire blast and not 2. Which is super weird when the guns have 2 barrels. And I still find it rather expensive. I felt it was a better deal with the Titan masters. Also, if we look at the Prime Masters, the pretender shells were targetmasters and still came with a whole extra small bot to add to the value of the price point.

It's not that far off either, though. The T30 figure matches up almost perfectly in alt mode. Keep in mind that the figure was originally designed as Swerve for T30, and in the original G1 toyline, Swerve was a retool of Gears. Gears being a redeco and headswap of Swerve does make some sense, but the mold could have used more retooling, at least for the torso, to really distinguish the two and get Gears a little more on-model. Some red vertical stripes on the helmet framing his face would have helped too, honestly.

What we really need for Siege is an expansion pack of just fire blasts and explosion pieces to decorate our figures.

I thought that would vary by product. Firebolt should have two, though Lionizer and Blowpipe would have only one each.

Based on stock photos, I'm also expecting Aimless to come with two Fire Blasts.

I'm looking at the final result and other than the colours there's nothing about the robot that really says "Gears" to me. Very off model.

HasTak did a great job with the more recent Legends-class Brawn, Bumblebee, Windcharger, Beachcomber, and Seaspray -- I think Huffer & Gears could be just a matter of time.

Oh, no doubt, the more recent Minibots are nearly perfect updates of their G1 models, but that's because the push for G1 accuracy has been much more recent than Thrilling 30. I can see being disappointed with Huffer and especially Pipes (totally wrong head), but Swerve is pretty spot on to his G1 self, despite that not being a priority with T30, when he was released. Again, the natural G1 link between Gears and Swerve helps me give T30 Gears a pass when I'd otherwise be scruntizing him a lot harder, as you are. My priority right now, though, is getting the rest of the 1987 Minibots out there. Then we can clean up the few who need a redo, like Huffer/Pipes and Gears. If they're gonna redo Gears, though, they'll need to redo Swerve too, unless they use the same vehicle shell from T30 and swap in some new robot mode parts, like a better torso, head, and maybe even some newly sculpted legs.

Looking at some Amazon listings for upcoming items from the Transformers: War for Cybertron Siege toyline, we have a number of previously revealed at New York Comic Con 2018 figures - of which you can see images in our very own galleries here, or official images here - including the likes of

  • Tra Gen Wfc Deluxe Fan Vote Autobot aka Mirage
  • Tra Gen Wfc Deluxe Fan Vote Decepticon aka Impactor
  • Tra Gen Wfc Deluxe Reflector / Refraktor
  • Tra Gen Wfc Deluxe Brunt
  • Tra Gen Wfc Deluxe Red Alert

What is new, especially at the 19.99 USD price point, is a listing for a Barricade that we had yet to see talked about or mentioned in the line. Join the discussion and speculate away on what the character might be, given the original G1 character is part of the Race Car Patrol Micro Master team!

19.99 is Deluxe pricepoint now right? If so I suspect that Barricade is probably a fusion of G1 and film designs, considering that unlike most micromasters (and over late G1 subline characters) who have mostly been consigned to history until now, Barricade is probably more known for his Cop Car persona.

yeah i agree with that.

nothing wrong them releasing (half) Race Track Patrol and calling one Barricade though. I believe Micromaster teams are marketed by their team names and not the individual names anyway.

Did anyone ask if say Nightflight & Tailwind were going to join their team mates at some point?

This line already looks like a winner to me, though. I wasn't into the Titan Masters stuff and POTP felt too late to jump in (except the fembots, I nabbed those).

Can’t wait to see Impactor! I’ve lost too many bidding wars for his Combiner wars exclusive, and the FOC figure is just straight up lame. Hopefully he’s accurate to both his G1 UK look and his IDW look.

My only concern is why they’re making him a Decepticon? I get the whole “versus” aspect of the fan vote, but it would hav been plenty believable if he was a rogue Autobot, or specifically designated as a Wrecker. That’s like releasing a Decepticon Cliffjumper if you ask me.

It's supposed to be before he chose his finalized side in the war, with Mirage being the one who convinces him to join.

That’s suprisingly satisfying

I just hope they go the same route they did with CW Megatron and include optional stickers so you can choose which side to give him, or maybe something similar to RotF Wheelie with the rotating symbol to convey the message if that's their story for it

It definitely seems like he has a sort of “mild” redemption thing going on with this new fiction. Makes me wonder if we’ll be getting an exclusive comic or even another short cartoon series, but I doubt it. Not like Cyberverse is sweeping the fandom.

But the insignia flipping gimmick has always been a favorite of mine, especially Armada Sideways and Animated Shockwave

Cyberverse is better than most people give it credit for. Also if we get a Siege miniseries, let's hope its comic only, machima did no favours with the Prime Wars Trilogy.

After looking at the scale guide for the Sunbow cartoon, it makes total sense that Reflector is deluxe. Also means Omega Supreme might be slightly taller than Devastator.

Yeah, Evergreen Barricade seems most likely.

If it's a Deluxe of this design, I'm buying it so fast, I want this in plastic form so badly.

Omega should be, but with Hasbro you never know. To compare to 18 inch (almost 46 cm) CW/UW Devastator, an Ideal Titan Omega Supreme would be about 20 inches (almost 51 cm). But that is at the head, so if he looks like the classic, the tracks protruding from his back would be quite extensive one would think...I guess we'll see in the coming months.

Didn't they say at SDCC that if they were to make a titan Omega He'd be in scale with CW/UW Devastator?
