Love that shade of green. Would still like to see a "straight on" shot of it though.

I'm not a die hard collector so an old mold of big bright and ugly doesn't excite me. :P

Then you'll be surprised to know the neck piece is all new, and the Headmaster itself is retooled from Encore Cerebros/Spike from Fortress Maximus, representing Olin Zarak, Lord Zarak's son ;)

Yep, confirmed on Twitter that it includes the chest guns. Hopefully they stay on this one better than 2010 Doublepunch.

These images give us a better look at the Olin Zarak the figure's Headmaster unit, which has been remolded from the recent Encore Fortress Maximus Spike Headmaster. It doesn't seem as there's a neck joint. That was the One thing I was hoping from this, at least some kind of swivel at the neck with the headmaster addition.

I read somewhere that Pete Sinclair confirmed that the neck sadly does not rotate.

I'd like to see pics of that head on the original Scorponok.

Sadly, Botcon's too rich for my blood this year. To ease the pain, I had to break down and Ebay a Double Punch. He fills the gap...a little.

Auction Site Taobao has posted some images of what appears to be a BotCon 2014 Exclusive: Flamewar! A repaint of the Beast Hunters Deluxe Arcee Figure this is a character who was first introduced at BotCon 2005 as a repaint of another Arcee.

Image

Image

Image

To see Seibertron's exclusive gallery of the original Flamewar click here and to see Beast Hunters Arcee click here.

Even more unusually Taobao also has what appears to be Arcee repainted as Transmutate. Unlike the recent TFCC version (the gallery of which can be seen here) this version uses the Robots In Disguise version of Arcee rather than the First Edition. A test model or something else?

Don't forget that at this point there is no guarantee that these are the finished designs or that they are genuine BotCon exclusives.

Aw man, I was hoping all the souvenirs would be 3H toy homages only.

I guess we can now guess who the "rogue Decepticon" might be.

Great, I'll take... BOTH! Looks like I'm getting more fembots this year, even if they are based on the different molds of the same character ;)

Gosh dang it, I bought a Beast Hunters Arcee just to customize it into Flamewar, thinking there wouldn't be an official release.

Oh well, my only consolation is I have a chance to make it look better, and I suppose it'll be cheaper to have bought the thing and repainted it by hand than it would be to buy this aftermarket.
Re: Production Sample of BotCon 2014 Scorponok (1579827)
Posted by Bounti76 on June 5th, 2014 @ 11:06pm CDT
I WANT THAT FLAMEWAR RIGHT NOW!! :BOOM:

The Beast Hunters mold fits Flamewar to a T. Spikier and edgier than regular Arcee. Love it!!
Re: Production Sample of BotCon 2014 Scorponok (1579828)
Posted by UltraMarginal on June 5th, 2014 @ 11:07pm CDT
Yeah, not convinced, we've seen pictures of other toys in Botcon bags this year that appeared to be legit but turned out to be a custom in a old bag.

There is no reason for the club to produce a second transmutate, it would cut into the sales of the first one.

The flamewar looks cool, but again, unlikely that they'd have two such similar molds, if the flamewar was made using the FE Arcee I'd be a lot more convinced.

I guess I'll just have to go to Botcon and find out for myself.
Re: Production Sample of BotCon 2014 Scorponok (1579829)
Posted by Mkall on June 5th, 2014 @ 11:12pm CDT
Something's odd, look at the polybags. Flamewar's says 2014 and the Transmutate's says 2013.

Flamewar looks decent enough.
Re: Production Sample of BotCon 2014 Scorponok (1579830)
Posted by Bumblevivisector on June 5th, 2014 @ 11:18pm CDT
So, BH Flamewar transforms from Batgirl's bike into...Yoko from Gurren Lagann???
ImageOr is there another iconic flame-bikini-top out there?

One thing we do know for sure: she ain't the free 12-and-under toy...

Now the new Transmutate is just all kinds of confusing. Could this be another case of a female TF being created via experimentation on a male character, but this time the gender switch was a side effect of curing Electro of gold-plastic-syndrome? Because when I picture her in opposition to FE-Arcee Transmutate, the smoother chest and wider wingspan just says Electro more than Transmutate. Go fig. Really curious to find out what the deal is here.
Re: Production Sample of BotCon 2014 Scorponok (1579831)
Posted by Diem on June 5th, 2014 @ 11:22pm CDT
My guess is that it's something the Club were contemplating for BotCon last year but instead they used a different mold and made it the Club figure this year.

Flamewar makes a buttload of sense. Can't wait to see more of the other souvenirs.

Transmutate makes a buttload of "wat" and "why". I'd like to think that this was a concept that the Club was considering, but decided to ditch it.

Posted by Madeus Prime on June 6th, 2014 @ 10:03am CDT
Transmutate was always too weird a character IMO.

BUT Flamewar on the other hand: SO MANY TIMES YES!!! =P~
Re: Production Sample of BotCon 2014 Scorponok (1579912)
Posted by Jelze Bunnycat on June 6th, 2014 @ 10:14am CDT
Flamewar does make a whole lot of sense. In fact, I'm guessing she'll be the Attendee Freebie figure like the BotCon 2005 one. Gotta stay consistent, you know? ;)

Now, Trans-Mutate is a whole different animal. Maybe either will be the Freebie, one as Flamewar herself, the other as a disguise? Either way, I want them.

That is, if everything is actually legit:

Don't forget that at this point there is no guarantee that these are the finished designs or that they are genuine BotCon exclusives.

It's true. Taobao is where we saw most of the 2010 BotCon figures early, but it's also where we saw that supposed Glyph from the Classics Bumblebee mold. So take everything there with a pinch of salt.
