Thanks to Weibo user 漫港湾, we have some in-hand images of a retail production prototype (rather than display copy) for the officially licensed but non transforming Flame Toys figure Tarn - the second in their highly detailed and highly posable figures inspired by the IDW Publishing comics. The leader of the Decepticon Justice Division can be seen below, with his mask in full view, what seems to be electronic for his optics, and some scene re-enactions with Drift - the first figure from their line.

Check it all out, and let us know what you think in the Energon Pub discussion boards!

Thirded. He looks so good but it’s such a shame he doesn’t transform! That picture of his eyes lit up! =P~

Maybe we’ll get him in the War For Cybertron trilogy...?

We're on day two of San Diego Comic Con 2018, and just before we head back into the convetnion hall, we have some images from the Bluefin booth covering the Flame Toys figures - the officialli licensed non-transforming action figures based on IDW Transformers designs - including their model kits, super deformed and stylised, plus the larger, super poseable figures for Tarn, Staar Saber and Optimus Prime.

Among the model kits, you'll spot both Optimus and Nemesis Prime, plus a small Bumblebee in the superdeformed line and a fully equipped grey prototype, and a Starscream taking a nap on the display cases floor. Check out the images below, and stay tuned for more coverage from the event as the weekend goes on!

Based on these pics, I'd say the Optimus IDW model kit looks better than the high end figure. That high end figure needs some work. I was excited for it, but less so after these pics. The torso into the waist into the hips looks off - too skinny a waist maybe... :-?

These look nice!

I plan to judge the kits themselves off of the first OP we get in September, but I'm hoping they're good, cause I wouldn't mind that IDW Prime or that Bumblebee. Or even Nemesis and Starscream.

And Star Saber looks pretty frikkin boss

While we're still trying to track down the actual source of these images (though we know they are from the preview events over at ACG HK in Hong Kong), we have a new look in full colour at the Flame Toys non-transforming but officially licensed Transformers Star Saber figure - the third in their super posable line - and a newly revealed fourth grey prototype which can combine with the former: Victory Leo!

Check out the images below and let us know what you think in the Energon Pub discussion boards! It doesn't look like Leo has a robot mode, but the result - which is totally not GaoGaiGar from Brave - is pretty impressive nonetheless.

*puts on yuusha oh tanjou...you just have to*

A few questions:

How much? And how soon can it get to me?

These are amazing, the detail...the sculpting...I don't care they don't transform properly, these are a thing of beauty. And I'm not just saying that as a massive fan of Gaogaigar Final (this totally looks like Genesic GaoGaiGar in combined form)

Um, um, um.......

I am so glad I plan to get a lot less generations stuff next year.... I really want this. I will pre-order both as soon as they are ready.

Seriously, this is the coolest thing I have ever seen in the Transformers world.

Flame Toys is making a lot of news here recently, the most recent of which was the reveal that their IDW Star Saber statue can combine with the newly revealed Victory Leo statue to form a very stylized Victory Saber. (Yes Please)

But something Flame Toys has dipped their toes into as well are the build-able statues, and that is where today's news takes us. Following their first Furai Optimus Prime kit, which is available widely for Pre-Order and due this September, we have news that their second model kit is now going up on live Pre-Orders as well, and that second kit is Starscream!

Their new build-able kit of Starscream follows in the paths of their previous Optimus Prime, bringing a decidely Japanese design to the party for the old Seeker. The Pre-Orders currently have him up for $40, the same general price found for Prime, and due out in October.

Check out the description for Flame Toys themselves below, along with the new images, and let us know if you intend on taking the dive and trying out some of these model kits and statues!

Honestly, unless Optimus really sucks, I intend to go all in on these guys.

So right now, I have Prime on pre-order. I plan to pre-order Starscream once TFsource gets his link up. And with the Nemesis Prime revealed at SDCC, I'll get him too. And Bee and Hound will both come once they are fully colored and ready for pre-orders, so right there are 5 model kits, wow.

Also, TFsource needs to get the Star Saber pre-orders up, and I will need to wait with the eyes of a hawk for Victory Leo.

So 5 kits and 2 statues. But so much awesomeness...... :michaelbay: :michaelbay: :michaelbay: :michaelbay: :michaelbay: :michaelbay: :michaelbay: :michaelbay: :michaelbay: :michaelbay: :michaelbay: :michaelbay: :michaelbay: :michaelbay: :michaelbay: :michaelbay: :michaelbay: :michaelbay: :michaelbay: :michaelbay:

The Flame Toys news keeps on trucking along today folks! Even after the Reveal of Victory Saber and the pre-orders going live for the Starscream Furai model kit, we have even more news to share with you, and this time it is a special and a first: we are getting our first look at Flame Toys IDW Autobot Megatron!

This Megatron is another one of their model kits, and he is the 2nd of their IDW designs after Optimus Prime, whom we got a glimpse at during San Diego Comic Con. This Megatron is directly based on his Alex Milne design from More Than Meets The Eye, and even includes an Autobot insignia engraved on his chest, the first official Megatron toy to go so far as to have an Autobot symbol permanently attached to his body.

You can sort of see the previously mentioned IDW Prime, for the first time in color, along with part of the Furai model kit Bumblebee, also for the first time in color. We will provide more images of all the Flame Toy's kits as they become available to us.

Update: We also have images from the same show of the newly revealed Devastator and Nemesis Prime.

(And please, HasTak, for the love of Primus, no stickers this time.)

Flame Toys is showing a lot of new product at the AGH Hong Kong show. We do not have the best images though, but Flame Toys themselves have provided official images for all these products.

We have official images for:

Victory Leo: Grey model so far, this fully articulated figure combined with their Star Saber to make Victory Saber (a really cool grey area of a non Hasbro/Takara company able to make somewhat of a Transforming figure).

Optimus Prime: Grey model so far, this fully articulate figure comes with a giant sword.

IDW Bomber Megatron: We only have the comic image they will be basing this fully articulated figure off of.

Shattered Glass Drift: this is a red redeco of the fully articulated Drift figure they released.

Bumblebee: Coloured images of this new model kit.

Optimus Prime : Model kit with preorders now open.

Nemesis Prime: First coloured images of this recolour of the Optimus prime kit mentionned above.

IDW Optimus: Coloured imaged of this new model kit.

IDW Autobot Megatron: Grey model of this upcoming model kit. He is seen with an autobot symbol, it is unsure if there is an option to change that to a Decepticon one.

All of these images were shown on Flame Toys' Twitter.

You might have read the original Autobot Megatron post. I made that post before heading to bed, and Devastator got added onto it a bit after I posted it. so you probably missed them adding it on since you read it when it was just Megs

Thanks to Youtuber Peaugh we have a video review for the soon to be mass released Flame Toys Furai Model Kit Attack Mode Optimus Prime! The figure, which is a roughly voyager sized in terms of height and does not transform, is a model kit very similar to Gundam models, and is heavily stylized. He comes with his trademark blaster and ax, both of which have been stylized as well. The figure is incredibly posable, with the same posability standards as the previously mentioned Gundam kits.

While the video review does not include the build itself, Peaugh does make mention of the time it took him to build, which was 3 hours, though 3 hours with interruptions, as he mentions.

Check out the video, and let us know what you think of this new model kit below!

A transformer that doesn't transform? HOW DARE THEY? but seriously this looks like a cool figure, not a fan of the design, but should be cool for those that like the... anime style? idk what to call it... but yeah, looks cool.

I think he would look quite good next to my gundams, he looks mg size in that regard though my current master grades are all from the F91 era and later, probably not the best height to judge on

Anime style is pretty accurate since it was designed by Akira Amemiya, best known for designing this:

Akira Amemiya, eh? No wonder I love the design so much. I pre-ordered this kit as soon as it was made available, and now I'm even more excited about getting my hands on it after watching the video review. There's going to be lots of posing and picture-taking, I do believe.

I have an army of transformable Optimus Primes, so the fact that this one doesn't transform doesn't bother me in the least. For me, this is 100% about the bot design, completely uninhibited by the real-world limitations of making necessary compromises to the bot mode in order to accommodate one or more alt modes, while keeping the price out of the stratosphere. If I only own one version of a particular character, then yes, the ability to transform is mandatory. In this case, however, the complete dedication to the bot mode and the focus on its poseability rather than its transformability is exactly what appeals to me.

On the non-transforming (or converting) side of toys, we have some new concept art from Flame Toys and their officially licensed Transformers model kits and action figures, specifically this time for the Devastator set. The art comes from the hands behind Gurren Lagann animated series, Transformers fan artist Akira Amemiya of Trigger animation studio.

Check out the sketches below, and let us know what you think of this display piece in its paper and ink form - will you be venturing into the new money and time consuming aspect of the hobby any time soon?
