The image bears some resemblance to images we had gotten around Titans Return, which showed some not yet announced figures in rough concept color form, although these images don't have any color location indicators. The image shows us the Titan Class Scorponok, whom we did know was coming based on his gray prototype head we saw back last year at New York Comic Con.
Up next on the list is Sky Lynx, who looks to be our Commander class figure for the year, pushing back a large Armada Tidal Wave figure yet another year for us. This Sky Lynx appears to have 3 modes: robot mode, shuttle mode, and a rocket base mode, which looks pretty nice in this image. We also have what appears to be 2 new battlemasters, who transform into different styled shields/ramps. Up next are some Micromasters, which includes Tune-up and Big Daddy, who have been found at retail, and a new pair that appears to be a pair of combining Micromasters similar to the Battle Patrol from last year, only now they combine to form a space shuttle, continuing the space theme set by Omega Supreme and set to continue.
At the bottom are a pair of deluxes that are also showing up at retail, Wheeljack and Ironworks. Wheeljack looks to be a model sheet based on his Earth Wars mobile game design, so whether this sheet will be accurate to how the toys actually come out is anyone's guess.

I liked the Astro Squad enough back in the day that this gets my hopes up for Earthrise, but so far none of the Siege Micromasters I've handled really outdo the originals, even with the combining weapon gimmick.

That's what I was gonna ask.....I dont personally care for the base mode, myself....I'm more concerned if he is close to original G1 self....

The news about Sky Lynx was unexpected, and very welcomed. Super excited for new, non-combiner torso Sky Lynx. Like most of us, I’m also curious about the fate of his cat mode. Here’s hoping,

However am I a weirdo for being most interested in the new, potentially Decepticon Battlemasters? Battlemasters are a great fun, accessory and figure all in one and they've been a good place for HasTak to add whole new characters, like Smashdown.

Is Black Zarak inevitable? I mean Takara had to crowd fund Grand Maximus (and didn't even get enough interest for the pretender shell) so far hasbro have given us zero repaints when it comes to the Titans, not counting SDCC exclusives, unless you'd be happy for BZ to be an SDCC exclusive?

I don't think Black Zarak is inevitable, but I want it to happen, even if he is a TT mall exclusive

We also never got Gigastorm from Trypticon, in addition to the aforementioned Grand Max. And we never got Metrotitan.
Black Zarak is definitely one of those "could go either way" cases

Thnx for pointing them out... when I moved my focus away from skorponok and sky lynx, I noticed how similar they were to the original toys and was thinking ‘why do they even bother, they might as well make reissues..’

He does look good. It's just a pity that Hasbro seems to once again be forgoing the original's ability to split into two forms.

Seeing how his base mode has the shuttle detach from the carrier, I would imagine each component has their respective animals modes included.
This is going to be an expensive year...

Fort Max was a Retool of Metroplex though, back to front like the Universe Lambo Twins were. The more likely argument, which the Grand PreSales seem to back up, is that HasTak does not think that there is enough of a market to justify the expense of another Titan figure. Remember that Grand got made, but he didnt hit his minimum to come with the Pretender Armor figure. Maybe they don't think there are enough collectors who know or care about Metrotitan etc

For all intents and purposes, despite using Metroplex as a starting point, Fortress Maximus should be counted as a new separate release. Reusing Titan Class molds apparently requires special circumstances, or have very minor changes. How many re-releases did we get after Metroplex and Devastator setting the standard?
And don't forget, Universe Sunstreaker and Sideswipe were "pretooled" or "built in", the first second confirmed in fact after Cybertron Scrapmetal. That's effectively building two toys into one if one goes beyond alternate heads like with Combiner Wars and Titans Return. For smaller Size Class with a lot of figures that can be a cost saver, but with only one figure a year for Titan (and Commander) with low production numbers, it's not worth it.

If you look at the sides of the base, there are red extensions that look useless for support, but appear to fold toward the back, which would put them in place to serve as the Lynx mode's double tail.
I take this and the fact that the carrier detaches with all four legs to be a pretty solid indication that there is a lynx mode whose head is just hidden.

Still don't collect Micromasters or Titans, but I'm happy for those who are happy for Scorpy.
When Jtprime posted the link to the TFW boards for the pictures, did anyone else see that rumor list they were talking about beforehand over there? That seemed a bit suspect and yet also too specific to be false, and some of what it mentioned was terribly mysterious.

Solipsist wrote:I realize that it is unlikely but I would love to see this new version of Scorponok still be a Headmaster (Titanmaster).
Already been confirmed to be a double headmaster (like Fort Max)
I think perhaps people should wait for more pics on sky Lynx before making a judgement on the Lynx part.

Scorponok looks... decent, gonna wait for some up close shots.

I'm only playing. That psrt detaches so either there is a ltnx mode or Hasbro has list their damn minds.

That's...so fucked up I just can't imagine it being the case for the Autobot one. There's cruel and there's having a miniature member of your species attached to your arm to die for you in horribly painful manners.

Why? Well, let me put it this way: if its not that then these are basically small dudes being waved around as living meat (well, metal) shields to take hits for bigger bots.

True, but then they are content to wear their comrades as armour or as power ups

I had that same question when we got PCC Chopster. I imagine thats gotta suck being smashed into a big ol armored dude. Same for Smashdown or Ptraxodon

So they're like nails on any given human? Plausible, but what about the motions they go through? Like swinging around, or sudden stops like when you brake your car really hard? That would be even less fun...

Sky Lynx, on the other hand, I like, and the launchpad mode is a nice extra. Hopefully they'll show individual bird and lynx modes at Toyfair.

What about the ones that become shields? How'd you like to have that job?
I hope Skylynx separates. The base mode does look as if it does to an extent, so hopefully the Lynx Mode is there especially when you think about how that was the main complaint about the combiners version. Hasbro isn't Mattel so hopefully they did hear the fan's suggestions and did it.

Agreed. Nothing against him being with Omega, but the red, white, and blue really fits him better.
Triggerdick Megatron wrote:I am excited for Scorponok, but I think the tail is way too small.
I think a lot of the problems we're having is with perspective in the photos, it's all out of wack. On scorpion mode his right claw is huge and his tail is tiny, but the ramp, which forms the tail, the markings match up, in base mode is enormous! I think things will look better in a few weeks when we see it in person at Toy Fair.
Scorponok's "ears" are stuck to the sides of the towers in base mode, that's a little strange... Gonna have to get a big orange third party gun by the looks of it, maybe a shield too since I'm pretty sure the center tour is built into this chest.
