The pictures are below and you can instantly notice that the deco is reminiscent of the recent Combiner Hunters deco, also found below. We will keep you updated if we hear of any new development.

I've honestly never heard this before, and I've been going to BC since 2000. Hasbro may have had no interest in doing the IDW repaint, so TCC decided to do it instead. Pete did mention several of these figures "should have seen retail"

Blurry picture/prototype. Nothing new

At the moment, this is based on a deco that doesn't presently exist yet.

All decos are forthcoming until released... Hasbro still has the option of releasing a Packrat, but they probably have no interest which is why TCC is doing it. IDW could have decided to update Arcee, Hasbro didn't want to do it and made a suggestion to TCC. Hasbro is constantly making suggestions to them. Maybe FunPub wanted to use the Arcee mold but were struggling with decos getting approved.
I think you're splitting hairs and trying to rigidly follow a pattern when there's not really one there... just because they haven't done it previously doesn't mean they can't/won't do it in the future. Never say never.

Agreed, especially if it's a figure related to IDW's Arcee. That said I think it be a real shame if the final product doesn't have the transformer logo under her right eye, but I have a feeling it'll be too small and detailed to do. Maybe a repolable could be made instead.

As it was shown on the cover, it wasn't really news-worthy as a rumor, as any toy design in any media that suddenly has a different deco is fair game to be turned into a toy.
For the next time you submit news, include a source even if it a rumor. That source is proof of the news or can be used as a basis for that rumor. Hearsay (like "my friend told this") doesn't usually cut it.
That Bot wrote:Has it occurred to anybody that maybe the deco of this toy came first, and they used it in Combiner Hunters as a reflection of this spiffy new toy?
That's usually the case with toys, as the comics are made to advertise them.
As for this being a BotCon item, I don't think so. The fact this deco will appear in the IDW comics in a main role says enough, as I've yet to see post-2004 BotCon toys get that sort of treatment.

There also the notion that it's too early for Fun Pub to use the Arcee mold. It just came out a few months ago at the end of last year, and they can't use new molds until they're at least close to a year old.MartianSpyGirl1996 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:"Should have seen retail" as in previously, not forthcoming.MartianSpyGirl1996 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Whatever this thing is, it can't be a BotCon toy since Fun Pub doesn't (can't?) do toys for future non-BotCon/non-TCC mainstream Hasbro fiction.

That's a more exact way of putting it, but they did admit that using Prime Dreadwing for 2013 Megaplex was a last-minute break.

That would be me
Bottom line is, it seems, it has to fit in the production planning between Hasbro, TakaraTomy, and FunPub. I wonder if there are any special arrangements between the three.
At any rate, all of the Thrilling 30 molds should be cleared for use by FunPub, but for the reasons stated in previous posts, I still don't think that black Arcee is BotCon material.

It'd be funny if Hasbro in an attempt to make funpub closer to them, or drum up more support for the club, gave them the use of the combiner hunters gals. I doubt it, but it'd be hilarious just for the prospect of "get them only at Botcon" or getting them once a year for three years as incentive figures. It'd be one of the moments for the club and Hasbro where it's like:
Oh and also, they wouldn't be their IDW counterparts, it'd be something like Arcee is from a parallel IDW universe where the 3H wreckers comics happen and this her all gothy instead of spider-y. Or it's SG yandere windblade, and her bodyguard an alternative chromia that's based on her cameo early on in IDW.

I'm thinking we'll see all three girls in a box set for SDCC. Don't forget, we had two Transformers box sets last year (movie Dinobots in G1 colors and Knights of Unicron) so doing two Combiner Wars box sets this year isn't a stretch and both would sell well I think.

For $200, haha!
Can I just bend over and take it dry from someone at Hasbro for these instead? Sounds like a better deal for both consumer and supplier

I have, another thinks they'll be part of a Platinum Edition set (that isn't a G1 reissue, imagine that).

That's a way of noticing. You could also look at the joints and see where the paint's scrapped off.
