A little while ago, Masterpiece Beast Wars Megatron was just a passing mention in a Takara interview and now in just a few short days, he will be released. His official release date is March 30th, that is when it will be available at Japanese retailers. Westerners who ordered him from Amazon Japan will be getting him by April 5th. With Beast Wars Megatron just about to come out, Robot Kingdom posted images of his box which we included below along with an image of his inner plastic tray which surfaced a little while ago. He will be packaged in Beast Mode. Do you all have him for preorder?

Does make me wish they'd textured/carved some lines in Cheetor or Primal (especially the toy deco Primal)

I assume the stand is in/under the part of the tray that is not in the picture. The product shots on the bottom right side (back of the box) do indicate that a stand would be included (although I suppose it could be the stand packaged with Dinobot - however only having a single, shared, stand would be kind of stupid/useless when trying to set them both up in a battle scene).
From what I can see he looks totally bad-a$$. Can't wait till he arrives!!!

I dunno for sure though, but we’ll be finding out soon!!! *rubs hands together greedily*

No and im pretty sure he doesnt come with a stand. Just additional clear plastic pieces to add to Dinobot's stand.

Yes, you can post them here and provide a link to the source

The images come to us from various sources such as 变形金刚玩具吧 (who has a haunting avatar photo), and chrisr291 (who has an avatar I can get behind) along with other posts on various social media outlets.
The initial reaction has been mostly favourable. He is imposing, solid and has a nice transformation, reminiscent of the original toy. While the hip pieces don't hold on as tightly as would be preferable, the remaining beast shell stays on the robot quite well.

How does this quote fit this Masterpiece better than "Yesssss"?
Anyway, this is one great figure, and I am shocked that he has both a sound chip and an ab crunch, both of which I had no idea he had. I bet this guy will be worth the price, and just makes me cry in agony that I'm still broke

Amazon Japan in an e-tailer.
I just got the payment request from AmiAmi! Yeah, I'm paying more overall and the shipping is going to be a little slower (air small packet, better than SAL), but I'm not in a rush and I have enough points saved up to bring the total price down to $250 just like on Amazon Japan right now.

These images come from a Hong Kong fan and can be seen below. This is simply meant to warn you to be careful when handling and transforming this great looking figure when most of us get it next week.
We had had another report of a broken crotch right out of the package from Goldimus Prime over at TFW who posted this image.

Yeah I’m not gonna start blaming a toy until this is mass released and there are multiple reports. I’ve broken some just by applying too much force and pushing something that shouldn’t be pushed because I read instructions wrong.
Never blame QC until I hear 5-10 reports

We kinda have already. rhinox, rattrap, waspinator, Black arachnia. All pretty stop quality figures in the passed 5 years

I dont think there were later batches with Dinobot. Me and Ironhidensh got ours the same time. His was super solid and mine got his head broken off during transformation.

My sympathys go out to all who have ordered him.
I'm happy with my original Megatron (even with his dinky color scheme and face). Masterpieces look amazing, totally agree but I (30 something year old manchild) still plays with Transformers and transform a lot. So I don't collect Masterpieces anymore.
Broken Transformers, man one of my top 10 nightmares.

Reports of Breakage and Easy Stressing for Masterpiece MP-43 Beast Wars Megatron

I feel like we are jumping the gun here, just like we did recently with the "running change" on Siege Starscream.

I was hoping for G1 style first part of trilogy, beast wars (with II, neo, and Transmetals all thrown in) then RID/Unicron trilogy revisits for the last part, when I first heard about it.

If posting this means people are more likely to be careful and not break their toys, then I feel I have helped.

But there's only been ONE report, but the way it's written makes it sound like there's been multiples, which at the time of me writing this, there hasn't been.

Well, if I was buying a $300+ figure, I'd rather know about any and all problem areas asap, so as to minimize any potential issues, but I see your point

"Alas, poor Dinobot. I knew me, Cheet-- waitaminute..."
Wasn't there also some issue with his shoulder ratchets?
And back to Megatron, I shattered the crotch of my Transmetal 2 Megs years ago, but was able to fix it with crazy glue a death grip on the parts while rotating it back and forth around the pin for a half hour; my mistake there was repeatedly splitting the pelvis by yanking on the legs instead of prying it apart lower down. Point is, I fear this could just be a curse afflicting the character: a feeble grille structure that transcends decades, and sometimes spreads through goldbrown plastic syndrome (I'm sure many more of you've had the Transmetal one shatter beyond repair - same here).
Does anyone have a full english translation of precisely what the instruction addendum says?

I see, msybe my English suffers a bit since there was both a report of bteakage and a report of stressing, so the problems were plural albeit on the same toy.
In any case, for the stressing its now a confirmed common issue. The shell is very thin and people are reporting stress marks after transforming him :

TT has always had poor quality when it comes to stress marks, the few figures I've got from the legends line are fraught with them

Oh :/. I hadn’t noticed it on my Legends. Though I will say the Big Convoy reissue had a very questionable pin connecting the BFG mount. Though wonder if that was partial on me for forgetting how to disconnect it originally..... but those pins shouldn’t pull out easily in any event.
