If you look at the boxed image from the front, right under the NP drawing there's a small gap that you can see the Dark Saber and what appears to be the gun peeking through.

There's supposed to be time with no new product, the way stuff has been released lately every other month with no time for a wave to saturate is insane! We're only supposed to have four waves in PotP and at this rate we'll have wave 3 in the US in May. Things need to slow down. I really do hope WfC wave 1 hits in January (it'll be December, but I can hope) to bring things back in line. Hasbro doesn't understand how to pace themselves. Look at Titans Return: In the second half of 2016 we got wave 1-3, but that only left waves 4 through 6 for all of 2017 (and some of us still only had wave 3 for most of the year). Hasbro's own release outline for PotP said wave 1 in December, wave 2 in April, and wave 3 in July (wave 4 probably September or October, they didn't put a date on it). This schedule makes sense, but the reality is moving way too fast.
Doesn't really matter, Cyberverse is going to be a full, multi wave and probably multi year line replacing RID, not something you can wedge in between Generations waves.

I agree. I miss the days of lines being able to breathe.

Large retailers really only seem to care about exclusive movie figures. Aside from some stuff at TRU, when was the last time we saw a non-shared CHUG exclusive at Target or Walmart. The answer is 2009 for both. Target got Universe Leo Prime (white) while Walmart got Universe Ultra Hardhead, Powerglide (red), and Skyfall. And considering how poorly Walmart handled their TLK exclusives do we really want them to get more exclusives? I sure don't.

I'm afraid not, that's a trick of perspective. The "smokestacks" they hinge on are still inset, you can tell by looking at the where the other side would be.

That's a fair, though I would counter-argue that Movie toys and Generations toys don't even seem to follow the same rules. I'm sure it's just coincidence, but distribution for those two lines don't seem to follow any of the same patterns.

My only wish for nem prime is for them to have added the option to attach the side guns onto the cab like the original Nemesis prime amarda toy. I understand that as it is now it references powermaster prime's trailer but, having a further reference to the amarda version would have been nice.

bodrock wrote:I don't know how exclusives shake out for distro -- but I do feel that to retailers a Transformer is a Transformer, be they Generations or Studio Series. But to everyone else, they simply aren't the same.
Typically Hasbro comes up with exclusives and then looks for a retailer willing to sell them. The fact that Walmart and Target have only done movie exclusives since 2009 proves that they know what they're getting into. Not only that, but they've also been getting exclusive rights to certain characters. For Dark of the Moon Target got all of the Leadfoot figures, for Age of Extinction Walmart got everything Stinger and Target had Silver Knight Optimus, and then for The Last Knight Walmart got Hot Rod. The fact that they aren't showing interest in CHUG exclusives but are very aware of what they're getting from the movies speaks volumes of where they see the most potential profit.

They absolutely each have their own problems, but I'm finding them oddly forgivable despite the fact that I'm objectively less-than-thrilled with at least 1-2 of each of their individual modes.
Applied some Sharpie to Roadtrap's hubcaps because of course I would; as always, he looks notably better now than he did prior.
[quote about Decepticons and combining]
I messed around a bit with Battletrap, and ended up with this configuration! Roadtrap's arms pointing upward, looking kind of like stabilizer pistons or something, and a heli-pack instead of an awkward blade sticking out his crotch. I like the slightly thicker waist, thinner legs, hip-wheels (I really love that design whenever I see it, for some reason), and slightly better color balance too IMO. It does restrict his kickin' waist swivel a fair bit, and it can be annoying having to reposition Roady's arms every time you want to move Battletrap's legs, but I think it's worth it for the upgrade he receives to his looks

Well that, and the fact that almost every single TLK figure shelfwarmed for MONTHS after their initial release whilst ALSO taking up almost twice as much space as RiD and/or Generations.

This is really light shelfwarming compared to other toys more earning of that title. Especially where every wave 1 bumblebee would keep selling out.

Dang... Maybe in your area. TLK is the worst I've ever seen. The only thing I've ever seen worse than the main TLK toys are the All Spark Tech toys. Which are still, technically, in the TLK line.
You're right, the Bumblebees sold out. But NONE of the other Deluxes moved. At all.
Voyagers did okay. Except for Grimlock, whom was objectively the shelfwarmiest toy I've ever seen.

The choice of exclusives make sense, since the movies had marketing dollars and frankly, the Bayverse movies are to thank for bringing TFs back into the pop culture mainstream....and should fund more Generations to come.

I can honestly say the only two recent main line figures that actually shelf warmed in my area in the last 5 years or so were Voyager TLK Grimlock and Voyager TR Broadside. Even after nearly a year of TR Deluxe wave 3 being replenished on the shelves over and over again (nearly a dozen cases in one store) they still sold out. The only reason anything here went to clearance was because they were still putting out fresh cases (wave 6 and revision wave 4) up until a few weeks before. The only reason I was able to get a TR Voyager Megatron on clearance was because the box was mangled.

This news comes from a Walmart in Peoria, Illinois, where a voyager Starscream was found for the amazingly low price of $10! Compared to the original $24.97, that is quite the drop. The tag also makes sure to say "Generations Voyager," meaning this is not merely just for Starscream, though the argument could be made the sale price is to help move Starscreams that won't budge from the shelves.
With this new sale found, will you dare venture to your own Walmart and investigate? Does this sale price finally convince you to pick up a Starscream, or maybe a Grimlock or other voyager if luck is on your side? Let us know in the comments section below!

Snarl is part of the new Power of the Primes line, transforming into a red, silver, and gold Stegosaurus and is a combiner limb for the Dinobot combiner Volcanicus. He is the fourth Dinobot of the line to get a video following Slash, Slug, and Sludge. The video, like the previous videos, gives us a quick at the design process, going from grey model to a final toy. You can check out the video by checking it out below or by following the link to the Transformers Instagram or Facebook pages.
So what do you think of this Snarl? Are you enjoying these designer desk videos? Let us know in the comments section below!

Tons of people reporting $30 Rodimus Unicronuses also reported that Leaders were eliminated from the new layout in their Walmarts. Movie toys were just clearanced. TR was just clearanced. These aren't items that are coming back.
So yeah, Rollbacks are their 'sales'.
