Felipe León Nájera.
Just recently we had heard that these figures have been delayed until a future wave and that their current assortment(s) had been canceled, as seen here. These pictures will have to tide us over until they do find a retail release date.
We've mirrored the images below:

we shouldnt judge too harshly on thiese pics. the first pics didnt have rattrap with jazz hands, so they can obviously be folded away.MGrotusque wrote:I thought i wanted Ratrap but not so much any more. I'll wait for Sky-byte.
hopefully what people take away from this, is that YES the figure are actually coming out and the rabble rabble can die down a bit.

That's the first thing I thought of too when I saw Rattrap... Jazz Hands!
After a prototype is created, doesn't anyone at HasTak ever speak up and say, "Hey, we need to rethink this design a tad bit." I mean, we've all pretty much decided that a Quality Control Department is non-existent at HasTak. But this is something that could've been prevented right out of the starting gate. Because how could anyone have missed these "Jazz Hands?" We sure as hell didn't. Sad.

It's not about the Jazz hands it's just the overall aesthetic. His bot mode seems a bit lazy to me and i don't like the bot bits in alt mode. I know it's a BW homage and i should accept the design flaws considering the source material but i like to think the bot mode could have been executed a little more creatively.

Also, judging from the comic cover, I think Tankor would look infinitely better proportioned if his head was smaller.
Thoughts?

The original Beast Machines Tankor is a much better toy than this new version. Not sure why Hasbro decided to go with a simpler mold than the original?

fair enough. i like the look of him from pictures, but i we'll all have to wait to get him in hand before we find out what the figure is really like. we all liked skids when he was first revealed right?MGrotusque wrote:It's not about the Jazz hands it's just the overall aesthetic. Crosscut is just a cheap repaint-retool of skids...
but rattrap... if he isnt released, we should kidnapp the executives of hasbro/takara, tie them to the most uncomfortable chair, then force them, in the same way Malcom mcdowell was in Clockwork Orange, to watch the most horrible videos ever made : Uwe Boll's In the name of the King...
Posted by craggy on April 26th, 2014 @ 5:55pm CDT
Tankor is completely skippable to me.
Rattrap is okay, but right now, not a must. I really liked the Transfmetal version, and this misses a lot of the cool stuff on that design.

Odd how the spell-checker isn't reacting to that (mis)spelling. Weird.

Not sure why everyone's flipping out over the "jazz hands" on Rattrap. Remember, photographers are notorious for mistransforming figures.
I really like the comic cover art for them, especially Tankor's. Though it definitely gives the impression that he's bigger than the toy suggests.
I feel you, megatronus. Because of the hate for Tankor, you and I will have plenty of access to him. ;)

i was indifferent about tankor. but that in package shot puts me at ease for some reason. i still dont like that cannon though... maybe a third party will make a replacement. dr wu? new cannon and a key to vector sigma please!Sabrblade wrote:Ignoring the size issue, I don't see the problem, here.

You're right. I guess it's really just a size thing. I'd have loved him at the voyager price point. I'm still going to pick one up though. Is Takara releasing Tankor?

Glad that those of you who've been waiting 10 years or however long its been are finally getting him though.

Which is funny, because the old Tank Drone toy suffered the exact opposite problem. Compare:
I've never really watched Beast Machines (I saw the first 4 episodes on Hasbro's website, but they never put any more up, and I couldn't be bothered to track the rest down) but the toys and designs were pretty good. I certainly think this new Tankor would make a good army builder, seeing as the original Tank Drone is probably quite rare by now.
I hope the Takara version uses chrome like the old toy did- although given how godawful and poorly received the Japanese dub of Beast Machines was I wouldn't imagine they'd really bother...

Which is really sad since all they had to do was turn them around.

Taller and has way more mass. I didn't realize Tankor was classics Bumblebee small.

As a guy who likes to army build, I don't really see the appeal. Even though it's quite faithful to his show model, the size absolutely kills it. Unlike, say, Prime Vehicons or the typical BotCon army builder packs, this figure doesn't really mesh with others in his line, or even with other CHUG style toys. He's just too small.
I'm still buying one, because I rather like Tankor as a character, but I'm not gonna buy four more to flank him. >:oP

Wasn't the Tank Drone absolutely tiny?

I don't have the Basic/Scout sized Tank Drone, only the Ultra scale Tankor. The colors are wrong, but I like the figure a lot. I'll just have two Tankors rather than Tankor plus an army at his back.

See those little guys by his feet? They're about the size of humans (or maybe a tad larger in these bodies, but just a bit). Now imagine an average sized Autobot or Decepticon standing with them all in that picture.
Conclusion: There is nothing wrong with the size of this toy.
We don't need a bigger Tankor toy. What we need are smaller Maximal toys.
