The Battlemaster class includes Soundbarrier, a new character who transforms into a shield. They will be packaged with a rerelease of the Siege Battlemaster Smashdown.
The Micromaster classes include the Hot Rod Patrol and the Military Patrol, consisting of Daddy-O, Trip-Up, Bombshock, and Growl, respectively.
The deluxe assortment consists of Hoist, Cliffjumper, Wheeljack, and Ironworks. The former 3 are based on their original cartoon appearances while the 4th is a new robot based on the Micromaster Ironworks base.
The voyagers consist of new mold Earth mode Starscream and Grapple, who show some similarities to the Classics seeker mold and the Masterpiece Grapple figures.
And the Leader consists of Optimus Prime complete with his trailer that functions as a repair bay.

Not thrilled at Cliffjumper being a deluxe, but oh well. I know fans have waited long enough, I wouldn't have gotten it anyone. he's not for me, he's for others
Also it seems Omega Supreme will serve as the Bridge (both literally and figuratively) between older and newer Base/Station figures. I haven't purchased any leaders in the last two lines, but I may start again, since the BM's (which I already get) will have connectors, and the Leaders will as well. Kind of glad the deluxes don't, (other than weaponizes) that would be tough.
Oddly enough, I didn't get any of the Optimus' toys from PotP or Siege, so getting one in ER, that happens to fit my collecting aesthetic, and hearkens back to the original is kind of cool.

That Starscream is pretty sharp, I have some hardcore regrets of getting the SIEGE figure now.
No sure about ol’ CJ, although I do like that he’ll hopefully be unique from Bumblebee.
I’ll be sticking with my Generations Wheeljack though. This isn’t different enough for me to double-dip.
I’m definitely intrigued by Ironworks or whatever his name is. New blood oil is always good.

Anyway, the hits keep coming. I guess I gotta buy two Optimus Primes, because that one is perfect for my son. I do like the Siege Laser Rifle (Ion Blaster my ###) better, but I guess I can live with it.
Don't know where I stand on Starscream, but we'll see what develops.

I agree it doesn't. But thats cause that G1 design never looked good. I remember talking to Cobotron about this and he said of all the autobot diaclone designs, that was easily the worst. I agree.
Wheeljack: that right there is the MP shrunk down. kinda really lame.
How is that lame, sounds pretty awesome to me. The MP is an excellent toy and now I have something like that for a smaller scale.
Grapple: also the MP scaled down
Also sounds good, especially since I found the MP rather simple in every other aspect outside the ladder magic. So it will feel better at this lower scale.
without crane magic and with some hollow parts
Sounds less good now, but I think thats forgiveable.
Prime: a not very well colored version of MP-10. Also lame.
I think everyone has issues with the colours, no argument there but I think he's even worse than a shrunk down MP-10. Did you see the back of the cab? MP10 at least looks really good in cab mode.
What the hell were they thinking? We went from wonderful detail to flat boxes once again! NO! How could you regress so badly?
I can totally answer that, it's because of all the whining. The lamenting of the greebling was endless and if I was Warden I would simply think there is no reason to keep doing all the details if no one will appreciate it. No one who liked it was overly vocal, I can only recall people hating that (same with the battle damage).

Weird, one of my faves, probably from having the orig as a child plus it always reminded me of some of the robots in Ulysses 31 which getting toys of were near impossible back then (Shoji Kawamori creator of Macross VFs/jetfire/skids toy did some work on that cartoon too, not sure which designer created diaclone hoist). The Robot mode looks like it will go well with the classics Grapple and 3rd party ironhide as they all have back arm kibble which is partly why I'll skip Earthstrikes grapple.
Edit* also ID toys in UK has preorders up for them.

Sometimes, things are good because they're so bad. When I was a kid I thought he was the derpiest thing I'd ever seen. But now, I have come to appreciate his derp.
I'm maybe most excited for Hoist out of everything we've seen.

Starscream looks like an oversized deluxe figure and am very curious to get a better look at him. Absolutely love the tetra jet version... might get one of the inevitable repaints of this one.
Windcharger.. I mean cliffjumper (the alt mode has me confused) looks good but the bazooka and wheel skids are what’s selling him.
Hoist and grapple were two of my least favourite generations figures, together with their repaints. These hit the spot...
Love the Micromasters base... was one of my favourite play patterns as a kid and was perhaps for me the last hurrah for transformers personally. The pretenders and action masters didn’t quite do it for me...
So what do you transform into? A muscle car.. And you? A crane.. And you? A jet sir!... What about you? A ramp! No no I mean a shield!

Ebonyleopard wrote:With the explanation of why Primes hands are gray I can live with that. Not like someone isn’t going to just make an upgrade kit for them anyway. We already have the perfect Roller, the targetmaster one that came with the legends class TT Prime.
Except no copy of Optimus Prine since that time that I have laid hands on has heen able to hold that Roller, he's too loose and swings like a dousing rod. Not Siege, not the Beast Hunter Voyager, not Combiner Wars, I ha e given up.
Best Roller I still think is Armada Commetor. 6 wheels, large gun, etc. But I do really like the CW Rook mold so if it fits I may revice that just because.
Posted by Jeddostotle7 on October 4th, 2019 @ 2:00am CDT
Soundblater looks nice, interesting that they're basically selling a ramp for the new connection system all by itself.
The Micromaster packs continue to look pretty good.
Cliffjumper looks great (and if Runabout and Runamuck will be retools of him, they'll probably look great too).
Wheeljack looks fantastic, and I'm up for any redecos or retools we get from him.
Hoist looks great (one of the G1 designs I've been most interested in seeing update directly, along with Grapple/Inferno, and neither disappoint), expecting Trailbreaker to look great too and hope we get some creative redecos/retools from it in Selects (someone mentioned RID2015 Strongarm, which I'd definitely be up for).
Grapple, as mentioned above, looks wonderful, can't wait to see Inferno and Artfire (and hope we get a redeco as Mudflap to go with Mudflap's inclusion in the card game, I would be super down for that).
Earth Mode Starscream looks generally good but a bit rough around the edges, although that's also what I thought about Siege Starscream when it was initially revealed and now I love it, so hopefully it'll further grow on me as we see more of it and I get it in hand. Can't wait for Thundercracker, Skywarp, the Coneheads, and redecos into other Seekers that have appeared on Earth.
Optimus: yesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyes, FINALLY an entirely direct update of G1, with trailer included. The grey hands bug me a little, but I can deal with it. Also glad the truck mode is still so close to the Freightliner's lines and curves, even if it's not imitating it directly. The truck mode just feels "right" somehow.

The promotional blurb/product description for them BLATANTLY STATES that Mercenaries are going to be a thing in the Earthrise line as well, it's even in at least 1 of the 2 articles about them on this very site, and the preorder descriptions from BBTS and TFSource for the Earthrise figures backs that up. I think since Detritus in that artwork is clearly (and logically, of course) based on the Siege Hound mold, and Earthrise is focusing mainly on new molds, we'll get him in Selects instead of Earthrise, but yeah, definitely expecting at least a new-mold Deadlock and Lockdown.

I also like the character! He's not a red truck or a supermodel like Optimus Prime, or a sports car and athletic-looking like sideswipe.. just a tow truck and a kind of weird looking robot. And maybe that's why he had so much screen time and episodes focused on him -- people like sideswipe and prowl are an easy sell because of their looks, but Hoist perhaps needs to show more personality. (Not that I think his design is ugly!)
Gonna wait for an MP though, I have a feeling one is coming in the not too distant future. They're probably figuring out how to make both mold buddies different enough.
It's cool that EarthRise is releasing both Hoist and Grapple in the same wave though, plus that other crane guy, Ironworks.

I think a lot of collectors who were hoping for Bee, Jazz and Wheeljack to have their MTMTE alt modes were setting themselves up for disappointment right from the start. While they would be a huge draw from collectors for nostalgia purposes, I think many kids would turn their noses at them. They are ridiculously dated, the idea of what would be hi tech and futuristic back in the 80's.
Try looking at those designs from a kids perspective. Bee is what, a frisbee with headlights? Jazz looks more like a shoe. Wheeljack is a hoverbox. I really just don't see much of a draw for kids there. Also don't discount the lack of wheels and how that would effect play. With a car or truck, you can give it a push and let it keep rolling on its own (Well except for the Moonracer mold and those back nipples). You can even line up a bunch of them and send them all into battle at once with a good push. With a hover vehicle, you have to manually move them the whole time. If Hasbro tried to make any of those designs work, I imagine they would have to add wheels just to appeal to the younger audience, which would have royally pissed off connectors wanting their 80's nostalgia.

They could have used small cthru hidden wheels for hover mode effect much like the kenner star wars Lukes land speeder.

Forgive me, I have been busy at work for the last day and a half, where does the TCG talk about whats going on in Earth Rise? And are we sure it doesnt mean the Earthrise section of the TCG?
Thing is, when the Twincast interviewed the head of rhe TCG they blatently came out and said they don't have an inside track on what Hasbro is doing. The TCG Ratchet (on an action card) we saw leaked was as much a guess because it was an obvious redeco of an Ironhide and we knew one was coming. Don't forget they did a Neeslnoae on the Siege Tetrajet, and there is no Needlenose in that line.
Do I want a Detritus? Oh heck yea. But unless something has changed since their interview, the card designs are just as much them having fun with ideas, and that came from the head honcho's mouth

Also, does the render incorrectly show Starscream with a total of four null rays in jet mode? I see two on the wings and two that look like they are plugged into the exhaust vents on his chest. Are they just demonstrating that they can be placed in two different places?

And Tracks.
Why does everything need to be a retool? Can,t bots just get their own damn molds. We had decades of crappy Cliffjumper placeholders until we got this one. I wouldnt want the same crap with Sunstreaker and Tracks. We have enough placeholders as is.
William, you already know why.
My assertion is based on how they've "been" doing it, though.
Not sure how you figure that? The only molds with no retool are Jetfire and Omega Supreme.
Standard retail is a different metric. By that one, sure okay. But you forgot Prowl/Barricade.

Indeed you did. My apologies, sir.

For nearly a decade or more, the Classics mold was "gold standard" for seekers, but I recall many wishing it was a proper Voyager size. Now in 2019, yes the classics mold is showing its age a little, but I have faith that this new one will be properly updated. After the PotP Starscream failed to impress most, it feels like Hasbro is really trying to give us what we're asking for. What am I missing?
I think it's because people went all-in for the Siege Seekers, many of whom were exclusives, and feel burned since what they kinda actually want is just around the corner. I didn't get Screamer, but I did get Soundwave and I think I'd feel annoyed if they came out with one that transformed into a microcassette recorder so soon.
That said I just got the wife to help me get the Rainmaker set for Christmas after the Starscream reveal. The robot modes are the right size, kinda look similar.
I just hope they don't go crazy with Seekers right away like they did in Siege.

I hear ya. Still...we've had a lot of Starscreams that turn into jets. We've had this one mold that turned into the "tetra-jets" and Hasbro took the opportunity to make sure those of us who collect a lot of seekers (or have a favorite one) got as many as possible. I have them all except Red Wing and Skywarp and I'll gladly get all the new seekers as Earth jets if they become available. They are essentially very separate figures and I don't think there are a lot of us who did not see the Earth modes coming. I certainly expected it and am glad with what they produced. I'd say the same for Soundwave if they produced an Earth version for him.
