Looks like Afterburner as an arm no?

I've still yet to get Slignshot and Wildrider to complete my Hasbro and Superion and Menasor, but I'll definitely be all in for the Takara version of Defensor.

Moosey, are you also gonna try to get the web exclusive limbs or just the brick and mortar stuff?

Third in a series, "Unite Warriors" that focuses on popular coalescence warrior of Transformers, with Tomy mall limited sale, Protectobots coalescence warrior "guardian" appeared of Cybertron!
Hot spot five bodies of the Grey's Street Wise First Aid groove comes with, it can be transformed into three modes of robot mode Vehicle mode combined form respectively.
In all character domestic addition to become the first mold, "groove" is unobtainable overseas completely new mold product!
It was verified that the lines in bold were not found in the listings for Unite Warriors Superion and Menasor. This means that unlike Wildrider and Slingshot, Hasbro will not be releasing their own version of this Deluxe Groove mold (as inferred from the text). This makes sense since they already have a Groove of their own, but of a different size. This does not mean that this mold will not be retooled in potential toys in the future, but it does seem that this particular Deluxe Groove will be a Japan exclusive, as it is said it will not be available overseas. So far, only Takara Tomy Mall have preorders for this Guardian set and it is unknown if other Japanese online retail sites will be offering him. Seibertron will strive to offer the latest developments on this. Do you interpret Takara's statement the same way? Make sure to discuss it in the Energon Pub.

If he's available on amiami, I am ok. If Takara Tomy are making the set Takara Tomy Mall exclusive, then I will be PISSED! I guess that means if BBTS does sell this set, it will be at a significant markup due to how they will need a third party distributor to make the connection from Japan to America instead of bypassing the process and getting it directly from the vietnamese warehouse.

yo, people should make a huge stink at botcon the let hasbro know we REALLY want this.

side question. do any of you think that Takara will release any of the new combiner team members in their line or will they only be exclusive to the US?

Except it won't since it says that it will not be available oversees.

That said... I wonder if the deluxe version could be retooled into a Junkion or four.... A junkion combiner... now there's an interesting idea. I wonder who could use to make the body. Hmmm... Just all wishful thinking, really, I guess.

They are pretty clear about not available overseas. Don't know what else that could mean. And skidflap, that fine print is not present for the other combiners so we are not talking about a similar case to Wildrider and Slingshot. So we cant expect the same thing this time around.

Yotsuyasan wrote:This latest bit of potential news is a bit concerning... I hope Takara's Defensor isn't an exclusive and does get a regular retail release in Japan! I'm counting on it being available at retailers such as BBTS and TFSource for a price similar to what the other Unite Warriors sets are going for. If it is an exclusive, that could cause the price to jump up! I am hoping that that is just a misunderstanding of the rather loose translation.
I am also concerned. I am pretty sure it will get a regular release in Japan since that doesnt go against selling overseas. BUT I am really not sure about how BBTS will get a hold of it. It could go like the Alternity line where BBTS had to buy it at Japanese retail and resell it in the states.
As I said previously, if HLJ and Amiami also get this guy, I think it will be a decent trade off. They remain Japan exclusive that way. How do you interpret the translation?
Here is the original text, if someone reads japanese, let us know what it says:

I do not believe that it is definitively saying that the Groove figure itself would not be sold by Hasbro.
So hope for the figure, Yes.
Hope for the full set, No.

That's quite odd. Why would Takara make Defensor a limited release, while the rest of the Unite Warriors offerings are mass retail? Is Defensor substantially less popular in Japan, or something? There is going to be a lot of demand for this set, like the two before it, for non-Takara markets, so why miss out on selling to foreign retailers and making even more money? Nothing about this makes any sense.

I agree, I think this could be a mistranslation. Groove is a new mold, It could mean that Takara is releasing him first, doesn't mean that Hasbro won't. With Wildrider and Slingshot those are repaints with new heads... so let's see how this develops

As opposed to every other takara exclusive product like the Alternity line and MP12? Was Prime Breakdown also a racist thing?
He can still be ordered off Takaratomymall (right?).

Why missing out, there are only marginally more expensive than the Hasbro versions:

Transformers Unite Warriors UW02 Menasor

That was already confirmed a month ago. But it will probably use the Legends mold instead of this one.

I think their excuse is that they already have a Groove who is part of the Defensor team. Neither Thundercrackers really come into play with the combiners so it's not a fair comparison. The interview with the head of Transformers even said their groove was made smaller to account for scale (ha!).

And I think we will get this mold and I'm sure it will be available in some form or another down the road. The issue may be they are making a distinction because breakneck and Quickslinger were released. Perhaps they mean that this mold will not see a hasbro version but just a Takara one. So, I don't see how that's that bad. Just have to order it like Prime Itonhide or Breakdown. If you really want it, you can get it. I think it looks great but I don't want it as groove.

That smells like bad translation, sorta like the "No Available in stores" line that you see on ads... in this case meaning TakTom made this. I wouldnt be suprised if Groove goes the way of the Go! Autobots, but I think thats an off translation. Could be wrong.

Agreed.
If it dosent make $$$ then it doesent make cents.
Those going to Botcon shold bring it up at the Hasbro pannel. But dont ask for a deluxe Groove, demand one.
