I already pre-ordered him for $150 shipped from an online store here in Japan and can't believe I'm going to have to wait 4 months to finally get my hands on an MISB Predaking.
Then only non-badass thing about him is that sword - would be ok for a regular gestalt but not PK.

Dude, I give it 3 months, and CrazyDevy will have you a 40 dollar sword, though by then they meay have increased their prices, so it could be 50. Don't worry though, They'll give you what you want.

Looks like the pre-order price over at BBTS jumped up by $20 as well! I'll hold the order for now, incase they do show that there are new parts later.

I got the 2004 reissue and is opened. This week, I just spent $475 for an "AFA 85 2004 Predaking" knowing there's another Predaking reissue coming. I don't know if I over paid or should've purchased this newer Predaking reissue. What do you think?

Say, what Japanese retailer did you order from, Jazz-1982?

You keeping the appraised piece for display, resale or bragging rights?

Seriously, though kinda digging the gold. Hardly an important point being that I'll never have the money to get one, but very cool nonetheless.

-When I purchased it, it was mainly for resale or future investment.
-Display? I wish, I don't have the space to showcase both the loose Predaking and the AFA. The AFA, once I get it by this Friday, it will be tucked away inside my closet.
-Bragging rights? I wish that too. Instead, I'm the only person in my street that collect Transformers. Or maybe the only person from the Bronx, NY that collect TF. I got no one to brag to, heheeh. I'll be lucky if they don't think that I'm some sort of weirdo, collecting kid toys, heehe.

Speaking of which, Predaking looks incredible. If it had been just a straight reissue, I wouldn't have bothered but since it's not ... I'm all over this.
Predaking, Bruticus, and Piranacon ... who's next on the Gestalt reissue list???

I wish they would move away from the G1 gestalts and go for some more obscure ones that are more worthy IMO and harder to get vintage. I know some of the Japanese gestalts are probably not as well know as the G1's, but I would kill for a Liokaiser or a Road Caesar or Raiden. I don't know what the availablility or said molds are or if a reissue is even possible, but I remain hopeful that they are. At least reissue something that hasn't been reissued a number of times already.

I pre-ordered him from an online store here in japan called Red Mercury. It's cool - kind of like the Japanese BBTS but it's product range is a little smaller (much less vintage stuff). They usually get any TF stuff that comes out (American/3rd party and of course Japanese) and have a similar mark up to BBTS, which was why I was so happy to be able to get Predaking for only $150 shipped!

Please let it be Menasor next...
... or Abominus!
Also, don't know if it was already posted, but did anyone see the new 2nd Predaking CrazyDevy CDMW-11 on BBTS? Don't know if it was already posted, but I was surprised to see it while browsing their store today: http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/prod ... ode=retail
I'm on the fence about it though.

Wait for it....
Wait for it....
...
...
...
...another redeco of Bruticus.
Or one of the Micromaster Teams, sold as a pack - with redecos and names that fail to homage some G1 characters with a couple of random names thrown in.
If we're really lucky, we might get a Six Builder in ROTF Devastator colours.

If the movie news is anything to go by then Menasor or Superion will be next out.
Personally Abominus is the only gestalt that I'm not bothered about. I would get him for completionist purposes only.
Menasor, Superion or any of the others though would be great.

Any idea how much this would be if it was say, a toys-r-us exclusive here in the US on shelves?
*shrug* I've always half wanted a Predaking but I can't bring myself to spend that kind of money on him.

It's actually extremely worth it. The original G1 toys way back in 1986 were around $15 a piece at retail. That'd be about $75 for a set of all 5. The box set of these was exclusive to Japan which used to go for booku bucks (around $500 to $700 I think prior to the 2004/2005 reissue). The individual Predacons are far larger than the traditional gestalt limbs. Predaking is hands down the tallest and bulkiest G1 gestalt. Each figure also sports large accessories and a large amount of die-cast. Part of what makes this figure so expensive is also simply the weight of shipping the item here from Japan and then shipping it from the online retailer to you. It's just a damn expensive and large figure. $180 is pretty damn good for this set in my opinion. It's just an expensive toy. I like Corvettes too but I drive a Chevy Cobalt.

Well hopefully it won't jump in price over the next few months and/or it does show up here in the states.
Anyone wanna donate to the "Help Get Topper A G1 Predaking Fund?"
There's just so many other toys I wanna buy first >_<

Cool! I'm guessing they probably don't deal with or ship to overseas customers?
fenrir72 wrote:So they replaced the yellow parts with gold colored parts. High lighted the gold decals with black borders and it seems Predakings' face has some highlighted lines. Nice. I hope the plastics' materials won't have the dreaded GPS.
It looks like the gold is painted on to me, aside from the swords.

Sweet, Predaking!
Seriously though, I broke down and preordered it. I'll likely have to cancel it due to funds, but maybe if I'm lucky I can squirrel enough away by November. It is also my birthday that month, after all.
P.S. Seibs, if I hadn't already pulled the trigger on this, your photos certainly would've caused it.

Do you guys think that this reissue will have diecast like the Takara giftset though, or be all plastic like the original US releases?

Based on the weight (over 5 lbs) we are all assuming die cast.

I'm pretty sure the U.S. release had die-cast initially and then switched to plastic later down the road like many of the 1986 figures.

Still glad this is being re-reissued, but the garishness and possibility of GPS makes the old yellow version seem like the better choice :/
