Hi All -
We have updated our site with some photos of upcoming Takara Arms Micron figures and one of the surprises is Rippermaru is actually Leo Prime! Seems like a typo on Takara's part.
Anyway, attached are images of these figures, and those looking to preorder can order theirs at TFSource here:

Takara, why can't you let me save my money!?
Why did you have to make all of these awesome!?
The freaking colors on Rumble and Frenzy!
That head on Leo Prime!
That awesome stamp on the hood of Wildrider!
ARGHHHH!
Also, is Leo Prime's Micron a retool of Arcee's?

Big freaking duh, we knew that months ago
So Rumble is red, Frenzy is blue huh? Can't wait to see them in action, especially Leo Prime and Wildrider.
O, in case anyone wonders what the animal Microns are supposed to be: octopus for Frenzy/Rumble, elephant for Wildrider.

No retooling is done for that leg: the claw weapon can peg into the peg leg to make a proper foot for Thundertron:

Ah, you misunderstood what I wanted to say. Thundertron's legs are made to be totally symetrical in construction, so I though they would just put two regular legs instead of giving him the pegleg, which looks weird with the foot on it.

I'm intrigued by your statement. What would make it Lio Prime for you? A head-swap? This might be a rather bad comparison, but recall how drastically Optimus Primal (and pretty much everyone else except Megatron) changed from Beast Wars to Beast Machines? Judging by head-sculpt and color scheme, BM Optimus Primal could have been a completely new character, were it not for the show establishing that it IS in fact Primal.
Conversely, Big Convoy bears startling resemblance to Lio Convoy, Beast Convoy, and Convoy. Yet are they all the same characters?
I, for one, don't care too much for the Star Seekers, so don't mind calling the repaint "Lio Prime." I'll just create a story in my head wherein "Lio Prime goes back to a reformated technorganic Cybertron and as such must be reformatted."

Leo Prime has a peg leg now. So what? Deal with it. It's OK for characters to change and evolve.
As the poster above me suggested, if it doesn't work within existing fiction, make up your own fiction. All of the fiction in the TF universe was created to support the toys, not the other way around.

I'm pretty sure Leo Prime will have hints of him being a (former) pirate in his bios After all not all pirates are bad if Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger is any indication.

I kinda like Thundertron's colors better than Leo Prime's, and I'm sure if I get around to reading Exodus and Exiles, I'll feel more strongly about it.
Would it have killed them to give Rumble and Frenzy differently-colored arms microns, rather than the same one in the same colors for both?

the Frumble Microns presumably form piledrivers. Since only one comes with each toy, them being the same colour means you can give one of the pair both arms as piledrivers and he won't be asymmetrical.
Wildrider looks damn nice. Leo Prime is pretty cool too, and the micron sword is a lot nicer than the thing Thundertron got stuck with.

Thank you for making the choice between PRiD and AM just a little bit harder. Hmmmm... Hasbro blue + TakaraTomy red = two Hasbro weapons, but only one Arms Micron...

Why not just get all three?JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Notice that both Rumble and Frenzy seem to use the alternate headsculpt of thta mold that the Hasbro Rumble doesn't use.

Also, when I was on Allspark, I asked Hydra how he'd handle the toy bios of these two with them being FIBRIR when Hasbro's Rumble is blue... and I got this response:
Color me excited.Oh, just wait for it...

And have one be weaponless? Seriously, putting symmetry in weapons can give me a headache. The ideal solution would be Hasbro releasing Frenzy, or TakaraTomy releasing the Micron as a standalone. Bah, one Hasbro weapon plus a Micron looks so... unbalanced.

Pun intended?

I ahppen to like the way Thundertron's thing looks. It's one of the few Powerizer weapons that actually looks like a weapon bot ways, plus both wolverine-style claws and decently-sized wrist swords are pretty nice weapons in my book.

EDIT: My original photo. different name and the wing color is different, but I so nailed the general paint scheme.
Flashwave wrote:JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Ironhide/Starscream wrote:Thundertron is reminding me of the Lion Zord from Power Rangers Wild Force...
He actually reminds me more of Cybertron Snarl:
In case you're wondering, there is such thing called a maned wolf
Really? "Winged Transforming Lion" And we get "That looks like a Zord" and Cyb Snarl... Ya'll should be asahmed, you're about to get punked by a kid who wasn't even born for Vicorty series...
(crappy photoshop by moi)
Does no one else in this entire fandom see this?
[/sarcasm]
Anyway, all joking aside, what's the fear with balljoint hips, anyway?
I'm liking Magnus. The Hammer could fold up better, but its the first weapon I like. Meg's is okay, I guess.
Torn on the Rumble and Frenzy. I like 'em, but I must admit I prefer the classics tanks. The Honda Civic alts are an interesting twist though.
What I don't get, why are we calling him Leo Prime? He looks nothing like the BW White Lion, and even the Target Exclusive white lion is closer, albeit not as clean looking: http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/ ... ine/17177/

will hopefully get leo prime and wild rider as well.

Wildrider also looks really cool, but I don't collect the character, so unless Hasbro releases it, it's a definite no.

Because that's what Takara's calling this toy.Flashwave wrote:What I don't get, why are we calling him Leo Prime?
Though, I think we've got something closer than any previous suggestions as to what the Thundertron toy most resembles: Murasame Liger.

Plus, TakaraTomy has been shying away from Japanese names for 5 years straight now. So no more Convoys.

United and Alternity (Goldbug, in particular) use G1 characters with Hasbro names. That Bot wrote:Masterpieces represent the G1 versions of the characters. Only new iterations of characters get the westernized names.

Just United. Alternity still had Convoy, Bumble, and Cliff, though they bucked the trend with Goldbug.

Hence why I singled out Goldbug. He started the change for this line, but it happened that all post-Goldbug releases were characters that either had the same names for both markets to begin with or lacked a separate name for the other market.JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Sabrblade wrote:United and Alternity (Goldbug, in particular) use G1 characters with Hasbro names. That Bot wrote:Masterpieces represent the G1 versions of the characters.
