Also directly from the source - that is, Hasbro - we have some official imagery for the barrage of class sizes that will feature in the newcoming toyline for Transformers: Cyberverse, including the Action Attackers gimmick for the figures in the line. But, proceeding with order, we have:

  • Scout class Megatron, Bumblebee, Starscream and Grimlock
  • Ultimate Class Optimus Prime and Megatron
  • Ultra Class Starscream, Grimlock, and Bumblebee
  • Warrior Class Starscream, Shockwave, Optimus Prime, and Bumblebee

Some of these images we had seen in previous news reporting, such as here, but some of these are most definitely a new look. You can compare the images below and in their full gallery to our coverage of the figures on display at New York Toy Fair 2018 here!

Deluxe and voyager Starscream look just sad. However, I will hold my jugement for Scout Starscream for after the vehicle mode is truly revealed. Scout Screamers in bot mode is adorable and the GERWALK ACTION is hilarious.

He has no vehicle mode, he is just a gimmick toy. It explains why a legends sized toy is only 8$ instead of 10$

I'll be looking closely at the larger Grimlock and the Shockwave to see if they might be worth picking up. Grimlock looks kind of cute and fun. Shockwave looks alright, and I like the newer idea for HIS alt mode.

That first picture of Bee had me thinking it was his G1 Cybertronian alt mode because it looked all round. Then I realized it was just a stupid motion picture. Pile of plastic crap.

It's the first time ever since I started collecting that I can see an entire line as "plastic crap". Seriously. Little kids may have a blast with these, but those are definitely NOT for us. Jeez, even RiD/Movie Line 3 steps and 1 step changers have more value than these. :BANG_HEAD:

I like it. It looks OK, could use some paint (nothing we aren't used to with RID), the transformation is a little different from what we're used to with Starscream (that's a good thing), and the action feature is unobtrusive being hidden in his wings.

Hasbro is really sticking it to Harmony Gold with this one. Let's see how this plays out.

Call me odd, but I like some of these “pieces of crap.” I’m not too crazy about the Bumblebee toys, but the Ultimate Optimus and Megs are definites. I like the Shockwave too. And the Starscreams.

And is it me, or is this line an exercise in "what Class is this figure"?

The spinny gun action feature is not for the Warrior Starscream, its the from the other gimmicky Scout Starscream without a full jet mode. Just the Gerwalk thing.

It's getting kind of confusing yes.

I like the concept behind Starscream's cluster missile launcher. I mean, I don't really need my Transformers to have spring-loaded missile launchers that shoot actual little projectiles, but I would like something that represents their weapons functioning. This is a neat compromise, and unlike a spring-fired missile (1) you don't have small pieces to lose and (2) you can actually display it 'firing'. The figure is otherwise atrocious, but I feel like this type of gimmick would look good on a Generations remake of G2 Dreadwing, or another similar character.

Actually, the basic concept of a 'firing effect' that comes out of the weapon barrel but remains attached could work well on a lot of figures, or even just their accessories. They could be designed very similarly to the DotM MechTech weapons. Instead of a rifle transforming into a rifle with a knife blade at the end, it could 'transform' into a rifle with a translucent purple muzzle flash at the end. Instead of a missile launcher transforming into a mace or something, it could 'transform' into a missile launcher with a translucent orange contrail attached to a painted missile. If they effects were done as well as TF5 Megatron's flame effects, they could look really appealing on display.

I know, there are obviously no guns like that on the wings, I changed the subject, it just so happened the subject went from one Starscream figure to another. Would have made more sense if you hadn't removed the text from the quote that goes with it. But I can see how what I wrote could be confusing. ;)

I don't understand, I quoted everything in your post. I don't believe I removed anything.

It was a little confusing, because went from the Warrior class to commenting on the scout class without a break or any indication you were talking about a different toy. It looked like you were still talking about the warrior class and then just pasted in the picture of the Scout class with the gimmick.

Sorry. ;) ;)^

It has been months since we had anything new to share related to the Transformers Cyberverse toyline. Well, now we have some new stock images showing the toys in packaging. We get a good idea at the finished decos here. We have images of ultimate class Optimus Prime and Megatron. Some assembly is required on Optimus. These are leader sized toys made simpler (articulation and transformation wise) and at the lower price point of $29.99.

We also have images of ultra class Bumblebee, Starscream, and Grimlock which are voyager sized but priced lower, at $19.99. All these toys are gimmick heavy and made for younger audiences, similarly to the previous Robots in Disguise 3-step toys, but with seemingly better articulation.

These images come from NDA wholesaler and we thank Seibertronian Scotty P for sending us these links.

I just can't get behind some of these recent series. They seem way too similar to the RID figures, which I haven't been overly excited for. There's just a kiddie like quality that I don't generally enjoy with these newer lines. I realize of course that this is a toy line for children, but this one seems too gimmick heavy as well, I've seen too many times when a good figure is ruined for the sake of a gimmick. I hope Hasbro keeps going with two lines, as I've come to view the white boxed figs, (RID, etc.) as the more youth oriented lines, and the black carded boxes as more appealing to collectors.

That was the whole intention ;)

The Warriors Class does make a return for this line, with a springloaded gimmick in each figure I believe.

Its not (referring to the quality). But its not intended to be. When RID came out, Hasbro stated that the warrior class should satisfy those looking for more traditional transforming toys. And they werent wrong. But there was not such mention this time. This line (and the bumblebee movie line) will not be marketed to collectors. Instead more collector oriented stuff will be relegated to other lines and be part of those.

Some weren't bad, but I just wasn't impressed with the build of most of them. My daughter got a few of the warrior class, but too many gimmicky features. The mini cons were pointless and the launcher figs like Drift had needless parts added or removed to accommodate the mini cons. There was also the huge white stickers on each figure for the mobile app. I just like the generations line better and feel like that's where they have the collectors more in mind.

Going to pass on the bigger figures. I can forgive not having knees since I just need my figures to stand on the shelf anyway. But no elbows on $30 figures the size of a Leader? Not happening. Grimlock looks like he has elbows so I might get him, but otherwise I'll be selective with the Warrior class and hope something better comes later.

I know I'm alone in this, but I'm kind of excited to see the return of individualized action-feature gimmicks. Last time we had those was Thrilling 30, and even then it was a bit sporadic. Usually if there's a gimmick these days, it's applied to the entire figure class, or even the entire toyline, and it's been that way since at least DotM. And some of the gimmicks in lines like Beast Wars and Animated actually did make the figures more fun for me.

Nah, I like play features. Especially things that launch (until I lose them and get mad, but then again it's my own fault).

As long that the gimmick is not spring loaded missiles that shoot off if you just breathes at them, I'm good.

I'm partial to motion gimmicks, personally, especially things that spin. Though "hidden weapon" gimmicks that flip out are also fun.

Spring-loaded missiles have been done a million times and can get annoying, so I hope they don't do those unless they give us something past a basic launcher (like rapid-fire, or the transforming beast projectiles from Polar Claw and BW Scorponok, that sort of thing.)

From what I can tell, Grimlock's gimmick is that he not only breathes fire, but is also on fire...

...So I think I know what's gonna be first on my shopping list.

I think hey were going for some Godzilla inspiration with that flame effect.
