In Japanese language, we read the sentences from left to right horizontally, just like English. However it has been noted there is a secret message that revealed who will be the next Masterpiece.
If you are familiar with Japanese language, please read the below images on the 2 highlighted columns vertically.
It means "The name of the new Masterpiece is Rodimus".
At this moment, there is no confirmation from Takara Tomy.

QFT! I pray that MP Movie SS turned out to be a bad joke.

If it is... that's a really cool way to hide a clue.

I'd rather have a reissue of G1 Galvatron (to use in place of that thing released during Universe), but if Rodimus Prime ends up being true, it wouldn't make sense to not do Galvatron as well, IMO.

I'm thinking:
Rodimus
SG Rodimus (unlikely)
Clear
Wildrider (bit of a stretch though i'n' it)

No. God. No.
I'm apprehensive about a Masterpiece Rodimus. I've been unimpressed so far with the Masterpiece line and don't feel that they're very good value for money. I'll hold my judgement until I see the toy, but I'm dubious about Masterpieces enough to know I won't be in a rush to put a pre-order in.

Wait, what?!
Well, both Hot Rod and Rodimus Prime had their share of repaints, but not so many as different characters (as the Japanese hate that). In fact, I only see one single repaint possibility for MP Rodimus Prime, not counting the obligatory black one, based on an original release...
Lucky Draw Primus

There's a big difference between a Masterpiece Hot Rod and a Masterpiece Rodimus Prime, after all...

Both, yet neither. It comes down to this:
US Hot Rod/Rodimus = JP Hot Rodimus
US Rodimus Prime = JP Rodimus Convoy

They did reissue G1 Galvatron

ehobby also reissued him in the original colors.

While the Takara reissue here has been something I've thought about, I was thinking more of a G1CS-based reissue for here in the US. Besides, while I think I can pay for the Seacons and their shipping, I'm a little bit more concerned about the $130 plus shipping tag on this release. Especially since I'm planning on getting all of Gen Wave 1 and at least a couple of the PCC figures if I see them this month.

Better get the Takara release, as a US release of G1 Galvatron is practically impossible. Sure it has the orange barrel, but some states require other colors like purple and green for toy guns. Look at Classics Megatron.

Read my post I said, top to bottom, then right to left, in contrast to our from left to right, then top to bottom.

On another note, I know many of us predicted Rodimus would be next, but my preferred MP-09 is still Shockwave - Who is such a cool character. Or Ratchet, who had an awful G1 toy.

That hidden message is pretty cool. It's like the Bible code!
Are there any more messages in there we should know about? Floods? War?

I feel the same. I really like the masterpiece collection but I got into this stuff too late to find any in stores anymore. Importing them is far too expensive too (darn you guys who can just pick up skywarp for $30) But if He looks good he may be worth the price for me

First MP Rodimus Prime, then MP Galvatron, then the Matrix stand, then MP Ultra Magnus "Perfect Edition", then Encore Springer, then some sort of quintessons, then Encore Scourge, and Encore Trypticon.

Hopefully we get more info/full confirmation and/or pics at SDCC. I'm goin to that panel & Hasbro better not blow me off after I ask my Masterpiece question as they did last year. (Asked about Grimlock - 'no comment' -'next question' Bastards!!!!!!)

fenrir72 wrote:@ Diem and Stormrider. Could you confirm this? I mean read Japanese?
I did, Masterpiece and Rodimus are written (phonetically) in katakana, and the kanji match up with the meanings:
名 = Name
新 = New
I'm not too familiar with sentence structure and grammar yet, though.

If it's Hot Rod i hope he's as big as an Alternator/Binaltech in carmode and a little bit taller in robot mode. That way you get a great scale.
If it is Rodimus Prime, i hope he will be as big as MP Prime in botmode but still to scale with Alternators/Binaltechs when he is in his mega supercar speedster caravan trailer mode.

DMSL wrote:Rodimus AKA Hot Rod or Rodimus Prime?
As I said before, could be either. Hot Rod was called Hot Rodimus and Rodimus Prime was Rodimus Convoy. Now that I think about it though, it's more than likely plain Hot Rod if the Sons of Cybertron sets, especially the Classics one, is any indication...
