It has been a while since we last heard from Imaginarium Art and their licensed G1 Rodimus statue, but we now do have an update via their Facebook page, showing some more work in progress on the sculpt design. Check out the mirrored images below!
Some close-up shots of the second character from our Transformers G1 line. Rodimus Prime, the leader of the Autobots who gained the Matrix of Leadership after the death of Optimus Prime.
As earlier postings showed, we got some interesting poses lined up for him. Now, take a closer look at these work in progress images of the definitive Rodimus Prime.

Also from Cybertron Con 2016, and not from Hasbro this time, is some news in the form of statues from Imaginarium Art - which we knew of for Soundwave and Hot Rod, but not for the Ultra Magnus figure seen below! Check out both some more Soundwave with cassettes (..sigh, Ravage..), and the Enforcer himself, courtesy of usual Weibo suspect 52toys.

These statues look great.... but they don't look all that much better than the Masterpiece toys of the same characters, don't transform and will probably cost significantly more.
I just don't see the point unless they can make these statues really affordable.

That Soundwave statue is very epic. I like it. Don't mind too much the neutral pose Megatron statue in the background though either.

We saw the unpainted version of the officially licensed Imaginarium Art Soundwave statue, over at CybertronCon, and we now also have a very good look at it with some lovely paint coats applied. Check it all out below, in both video and images, which also show how you can swap out some parts for two different poses!

This may be a dumb questio but I am curious. Why would one get this over the very detailed, hghly poseable and exremely accurate Masterpiece figure?

I was about to ask the same thing. Plus, Rumble is the wrong colour for me. Something else the Masterpiece does right by offering both options.

I've already got a much better, transforming version of this. It's called Masterpiece Soundwave. Aside from being transformable & more articulated, it has the added bonus of remaining unstained by the crappy Bayverse Decepticon symbol, as seen on this overpriced heap.

Even if the statue was lower priced than the MP version, I would have chosen the MP Soundwave over this one in a heartbeat, without any doubt. Poseable and transformable

I don't think the proportions are even quite right on this thing. The paint app is all it really has going for it in my opinion.

HA! Because that blue paint is what I like least about it. It looks like the wrong hue of blue.

Shame they didn't take a few minutes to figure out how the character transforms, would have kept them from sticking wheels on his arms for no reason. Could have been a nice statue, but now it just looks silly.

Any army that goes into battle needs the perfect foot soldiers. Especially those who see an Autobot as food on the victory table.

Dinos and sharks are the two best things, so this is automatically pretty sweet. It's nice to have dioramas as opposed to the same OP statue 12 different times.

Yeah this is pretty slick. Lots of action and your eye moves all around the statue being that there's lots to take in.
So much more interesting than a cliche power pose.

I don't understand these statues and non transforming action-figure styled releases. They're unbound by the limits of engineering yet they so often look worse than a fully fledged transforming figure...

Imaginarium Art has posted a new picture of one of its upcoming projects that was announced over a year ago, this time as the form of Rodimus Prime! Rodimus Prime is seen in the new picture holding up the Matrix, as he did when he became a Prime. The figure is rumored to have 2 additional poses and is supposed to be as posable as the recent Ultra Magnus statue. It was only a matter of time before statue-makers Imaginarium Art took their shot at a G1 styled Optimus Prime. Thanks to their Facebook page, we have a colour image of the product which includes an open chest with an exposed Matrix of Leadership, his trailer and his done companion Roller! The release date has yet to be determined. Imaginarium Art stated "Purchase order hasn't begun yet. We'll post announcements as soon as he's ready." They also stated Optimus Prime "... is currently in the factory" and "Pricing not determined yet. Should be known by October." Stay tuned to Seibertron.com for additional information and details about this exciting product. Check out the image below, and let us know what you think in the Energon Pub forums.
